“Leayn was so AMAZING!! so many pictures of our baby having fun, constant updates (which I love so I had no worries). Also she’s super flexible with times, which helped us coming back from our trip with a breeze for pick up. Overall can’t thank her enough, definitely dropping off my pup to her again!”

“Sport had the best time and Hannah kept us fully informed with pictures throughout every day of his visit. He was clearly treated very well and made to feel like family!”

“Taylor and her family did an outstanding job taking care of my dog Bailey. I loved that she continuously sent me pictures of my dog at his very special moments. Taylor was also very flexible and accommodated Bailey’s special diet. I will definitely leave Bailey with Taylor next time I’m out of Town.”

“I felt very comfortable leaving my dog with Selena. She was a good communicator and we got daily updates and pictures from her which we loved. We aren't local to her, but if we were, we would certainly use hey again.”

“If I could give 10 stars I would! We left our Sullivan with Ashley and her family! They loved him like their own, took him to the dog park, played with him - sent pictures daily. She even got him a gift when he left. 1000% will be using her again and recommending her to all my friends looking to board!”

“What a fantastic experience! Alexandra and family were so kind and loving to our golden retriever Maggie Mae! I honestly could not have wished for a better family to care for her in our absence. Alexandra communicated with us including photos each day. I could see how much Alexandra and her boys loved her. We suddenly realized that while we were on vacation, our golden retriever had her own personal vacation as well. This was our first experience with Rover. We were very happy with the experience.”

“I left my 2 year old lab Belle with Julie and Chris so we could go on our family vacation for one week. At the meet and greet Julie asked all the necessary questions on how to take care of Belle. Belle and Parma were instant friends at the meet and greet! I feel lucky to have found such nice people to take care of Belle in our neighborhood. I received daily updates on Belle pictures and videos. I highly recommend Julie and Chris they are true dog people!!!”

About: Not just have I grown up around animals of all kinds but I have taken care of several friends and families pets to ensure their well being while the owners were away. I currently am not limited to hours to come to care of your furry babies! I’m willing to work around most people’s needs within almost any hours!. I prefer to be able to go to your house to provide any care you’re seeing fit. Such as visiting your pet/animals keeping them active with play time, keep them outside as much as possible for exercise/potty time. I can make sure they are fed/watered. Just providing that time they need to get through the time you’re away.
About: I can take care of any animal from hamsters to dogs or cats. I am currently doing online college and so I am readily available I am a full-time online college student with a flexible daily schedule, so caring for your pets easily fits into my day. Because my coursework is completed from home, I have plenty of time for regular feeding, playtime, potty breaks, and attention throughout the day. My schedule allows me to offer full boarding on weekends, as well as drop in visits, walks, and boarding during weekdays with minimal disruption to your pet's routine Since I study from home, I can provide frequent check-ins and supervision, strictly adhering to feeding and medication schedules and following any specific care instructions you provide. If needed, I can easily accommodate crate training or give your pet a quiet, separate space to relax, ensuring a calm, safe, and stress free stay.

“Karen did a phenomenal job with Milo and Dixie. Karen is a true animal lover and it was evident the moment we meet and she had everything a dog would need to feel comfortable and most importantly, to play. Karen sent pictures of our two little ones playing and having a great time on a daily basis. It was hard to leave them, but felt great knowing they were being well taken care of and having a good time.”

About: I grew up with family dogs and I have a spoiled little doodle mutt of my own. Your baby will be spoiled rotten in my care ❤️❤️ I often dog sit for family and friends for free since I love having a playmate for my Sushi (my dog) and now they’ve suggested I make it a side hustle. Also, I’m a nurse so I can take good care of both people and doggies. I work 3 12-hour shifts in a week so I’m basically free for 4 days. I also have my husband who will help in taking good care of your pets. Believe it or not he is an even more softie for doggies than me. We’ve been wanting to get a second dog so I’m hoping to keep him busy with foster babies and forget about it for now until we can afford to have another furbaby 😊 I have a fenced yard and 1 very cute doodle to keep your pets company. I also make it a point to walk my dog twice a day and bring her to the dog park nearby. I also often do a pup cup run with my baby so I can definitely bring your baby along and free pup cup on me 😊

Currently in the medical field, and as I said previously I have a huge love dogs. I currently have a pitbull right now. He’s very sweet and loving. It’s nothing in the world I wont do for him. I will keep a close eye on your pet like a hawk. They will never be out of my sight no matter what. You have no worries
About: Dogs have always held a special place in my heart. From the pups I grew up with to my soul dog Lacey, who has inspired this Rover journey. They are the purest creatures on this earth and taking the time to connect with each and every one that comes way, brings me so much happiness 🐾🤍 Life can be unpredictable so I’m here to make things a little easier! Whether it’s a spontaneous weekend trip or a daily walk, I’ve got you (and your best friend) covered ✔️ I am a proud & protective dog mama myself — when your pup is with me, you can trust they will be cared for as my own. I know just how important it is to feel confident when leaving a member of the family in someone else’s hands and I take that responsibility to heart 🫶🏼
Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Burton
Leayn is amazing! Incredible communication, she sent us pictures and notes to update us on Patrick the entire time we were gone. I could tell when we picked him up that he genuinely enjoyed being there and loves being around Leayn and her family and her son was so sweet to Patrick as well. We felt so much more at ease knowing he was with somebody actually giving him the love and attention that he needed and will most definitely be using her again! Thanks for being the best, Leayn! :)

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Burton home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Burton.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Burton sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
