Dawn is such a good pet sitter. Our cats are normally very reclusive around new people, but took to her immediately. We couldn’t recommend her more and will absolutely use her in the future.

Becca was extraordinary. She took exceptional care of my cats, she communicated beautifully, sent pictures of my special needs babies so I knew they were okay, spent extra time with my neediest boy. I wish I could give her a million stars because she was that good. I WILL hire her again to take care of everyone because she was so responsive and responsible that I know my kidlets are in terrific hands!

About: I have been pet sitting for the last 5 years as well as being a nanny for 4 children aged newborn to 5 years old. During my time pet sitting I have worked with single dogs as well as up to 4 dogs in a single household. I love playing with and entertaining the higher-energy extroverted pets and enjoy quiet cuddle-time with the more laid-back, philosophical ones. In addition to pet sitting, I have learned a lot about interacting with all sorts of personalities in mobile pet grooming business. **For the foreseeable future, I'm searching for an additional part-time job, so my availability for overnight stays, daily check-ins, and dog-walking may vary from situation to situation. I will communicate proactively and adhere to all the house rules and keep your pet's routine as consistent as possible to reduce your pet's anxiety at your absence. I am a considerate house-guest and will wash any dishes or towels/washcloths that I might use as well.

About: *Newly located to Burnsville NC and available in The SC Upstate!!* Hello and welcome! I’m so glad you’re here. I’ve been a trusted house and pet sitter since 2018, originally serving families in southern Western North Carolina and now proudly offering my care for homes and pets here in Burnsville! In addition to pet care, I am a professional makeup artist in the wedding industry. My artistry career allows for a flexible schedule, making this a true dream duo profession. Both roles require attentiveness, discretion, reliability, and a calm presence- qualities I bring into every home I care for. I’m a big animal lover and this work nourishes my soul. I understand my rates may be higher than some providers on the platform. They reflect my experience, the personalized attention I provide, and the care I take with both pets and homes. I book thoughtfully and value quality over quantity. My time is important, and I approach each booking with professionalism and respect- which I greatly appreciate in return. As a devoted cat pawrent of four, animals are truly part of my heart and home. I have a particular specialty in senior pets and those with special needs. I’m experienced and comfortable administering medications, including insulin, strictly according to your veterinarian’s schedule. I understand the importance of consistency, patience, and calm energy, especially for older or medically sensitive pets. I specialize in long stays and understand the elevated level of consistency and stewardship required when you are away for extended periods. I am deeply committed to maintaining your pet’s established routines so they feel secure, steady, and completely at ease in their own environment. I also take exceptional pride in how I leave a home. During overnight stays, I thoughtfully maintain lived-in areas, refresh sheets, and ensure spaces feel orderly and cared for upon your return. I tend to go above and beyond- because I believe your home should feel just as welcoming as when you left it. I offer a limited number of recurring weekly walks. I’m experienced with leash-trained dogs, E-collar systems, and properly trained off-leash work when safe and appropriate. In my previous community, I maintained consistent walking schedules with select families- something I genuinely enjoyed and look forward to establishing again here in the Lowcountry. As mentioned above, I am a professional makeup artist in the wedding industry, which allows for a flexible and thoughtfully managed schedule. Pet care is intentionally woven into my routine, and I carefully book my calendar to ensure each client receives dependable, attentive service. Whether for daily walks or extended stays, your pet’s care and consistency remain a priority. My approach centers on routine consistency, attentiveness, and respect for both the pet and the home. I carefully follow established feeding, medication, and exercise schedules to ensure pets remain settled and at ease in their familiar environment. I am dependable and flexible, and I will treat your fur family with the same care and consideration I give my own. References are happily available upon request. I truly appreciate the opportunity to serve your family.

About: II’ve loved animals my whole life and have a natural gift for connecting with them—especially cats! I have extensive experience with medical care, including giving injections, liquid medications, and complex pill schedules. I also previously held a Groomer’s License in Colorado, so I am very comfortable handling pets of all sizes and temperaments. I’ve cared for animals with everything from broken limbs to chronic diseases, so your pet is in very capable hands." I moved to Elizabethton just before Thanksgiving to be with my parents and I became the primary caregiver for my father, who has dementia. It’s a responsibility I’m proud to take on. Getting out of the house to walk, play with, and fall in love with your pets is exactly what I need to stay balanced. Since I manage my dad’s daily tasks, I have a very flexible schedule and the time to truly focus on your fur-babies. I’m looking for that 'pet therapy' a reason to get out and about just as much as your pets are looking for a loving caregiver. I’ll be there whenever you need me to even in short notice! Safety and trust are my top priorities. When I am in your home, I am respectful of your space and extremely vigilant about door safety and environment hazards. I am honest about my capabilities; I would never attempt a medical or care task if I wasn't 100% confident I could do it safely. My vehicle is also set up for safety, with plenty of room and when needed a leash that conect to their collar or harness then buckes to the backseat so your pets are secure while we are on the go.

About: I've taken care of dogs since I was five years old. I still distinctly remember the breeder of the first dog I ever owned - a chocolate lab named Ginger - looking me in the eye after seeing I was apprehensive about the dogs and telling me, "Son, some day this dog will be the best friend you ever had." Ginger and I went everywhere together. I've had dogs and cats virtually my whole life, and the animals love me. While I am employed full time, I work in a hybrid setting that includes roughly 3 remote days per week, so I can be pet sitting on site and developing as close a band as I can to alleviate the babies' separation anxiety. I aim to please - if you'd prefer for your fur baby to be crated at night, then I will make sure s/he does that. My only job, other than to make the babies' experience as smooth as possible, is to follow the directions laid out by the owners.

About: I have volunteered at an animal rescue sanctuary for 10+ years. As a caretaker my duties at the sanctuary require demanding physical labor, housekeeping, and responsibilities of supervision over animals and other volunteers. We had over 100+ different types of animals and always have been around dogs and cats! They are my joy! I work 2 full time jobs but I have mornings, evenings and weekends open! I am looking for something that will fit into that kind of schedule. I have no animals at home. It is safe and a very clean environment. I am the most respectful and will aways listen to what you and your pets need.

About: Animals have always naturally gravitated toward me, and caring for them genuinely makes me happy. I’m the kind of person who notices when a pet wants comfort, quiet, playtime, or just someone calm to sit with them. I especially love creating a peaceful, loving environment where pets feel safe and cared for while their owners are away. I’m very respectful of people’s homes, clean, dependable, and communicative. I know how vulnerable it can feel leaving your pets with someone else, so I treat every animal with real patience, affection, and attention — not just as a job, but because I truly love being around them. I’m also available for overnight stays, house sitting, feeding, walks, companionship, bringing in mail, watering plants, and helping keep things running smoothly while you’re away. I have a flexible schedule right now, which allows me to give pets lots of attention, affection, and companionship throughout the day. Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and I truly love getting to know each pet’s unique personality and making them feel safe, happy, and cared for while their owners are away. I’m available for house sitting, drop-ins, walks, and overnight care most weekdays and weekends. I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your pets and being in your home, and I take that responsibility very seriously. I’m dependable, attentive, and genuinely loving with animals. I pay close attention to routines, feeding instructions, medications, and the little things that help pets feel comfortable and secure while you’re away. I’ll always treat your home with respect, keep things clean and tidy, and make sure you receive regular updates and photos so you can feel completely at ease.

About: I have had a multitude of animals since I was young, which has led to many years of experience. I currently have a pet cat and dog. I’m a very active person and love going out in nature for walks and requests for longer walks beyond the 30 minute allotment are definitely welcome! I would love to build a strong relationship with the pets and owners I interact with to help build my experience even more and make your pets comfortable with a familiar face. I have a dog of my own that I walk and I’m a stay at home mom, which allows my schedule to be relatively open. In my clients home I will make sure the pet’s needs are met 100%. This includes making sure they have plenty of water, food and have had an adequate potty break. I will also play with the pet as long as their owner is okay with that.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Burnsville. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
