About: I have experience with all kinds of breeds, ages, and sizes. I understand every animal is unique along with their needs, and I’m more than happy and willing to do whatever it might be to keep your fur baby happy and safe while in my care. I have open availability, so whenever I’m needed I’ll be there. I don’t work anywhere else or have kids, and I just have one dog of my own. Safety is my number one priority whether it comes to your animal or home. When it comes to my care I want you to be as stress free as possible.

About: I volunteer at the Stockton Animal Shelter. Also, I have a Pomeranian chihuahua mix so I’m used to smaller animals. My dog is 14-16 so he’s very old and is becoming more immobile and blind. I’m used to feeding him and helping him around the house. I’m currently working part time so most I’m completely free on the weekend as well as Monday and Tuesday. Also I have plenty of time on Thursday as a half day. I’m very respectful in others space. I will be very attentive to the rules that you lay out because you know your pet best
“Daniella did a great job watching our Goldendoodle while we were on vacation. After reading her reviews, I decided Daniella was a great fit for my anxious dog. Our first time booking with rover and overall it was an easy and stress free experience with Daniella.. She checked in on our dog once a day- She was always on time, communicated when needed, sent photos and followed our direction perfectly. We will be booking her again!”

“Sydney was prompt and kind. My puppy had an accident and went the extra mile of cleaning up after her. My girls can be a bit stubborn but she handled them with care and kindness. I’ve never used a pet sitter before for my dogs and this was a very positive experience with Sydney. If she is willing to watch my dogs again in the future I know my girls will learn to bond with Sydney!”

“Heather was PERFECT!! She was so sweet with my two dogs and cat and made my nervous Chihuahua happy and comfortable!! (I was a little unsure about him, with it being his first time)! She took extra loving care of my fur babies and I hope she will do it again for me! She was a real blessing!!! Thank you Heather!!!”

About: I have a deep love and appreciation for dogs. Have been taking care of my family’s dog for years now as well as watching my friend’s dogs and cats while she’s away for work for multiple days. I’m currently working little hours at my local job, but I am looking to expand that by walking and taking great care of your furry friends right now I like to get to know the animal and can understand their body language in many different scenarios. I understand what they think as threats and can anticipate different situations and handle as such.
About: My love for animals runs deep—I currently volunteer at a local animal shelter, where I care for cats and dogs of all sizes, personalities, and needs. From socializing shy pets to walking energetic pups and helping with feeding and cleaning, I’ve gained hands-on experience that’s taught me how to read animal behavior and respond with patience, love, and care. Whether I’m hanging out with a cuddly senior cat or keeping a playful dog entertained, I truly enjoy making pets feel safe and happy. I treat every animal like family and make it my priority to follow their routine and comfort level while you’re away. My schedule is pretty flexible, so I’m able to fit pet care into my daily routine easily. I work remotely and can adjust my hours as needed, which makes it simple to handle walks, feedings, or any last-minute needs that come up. I’m very careful when it comes to pet care. I always make sure the environment is safe, secure, and comfortable—whether it’s in my home or the client’s. I follow any specific instructions closely and treat every pet like they’re my own, with lots of love, patience, and attention.
About: I’ve been pet sitting for over 10 years and have cared for dogs with all kinds of personalities, routines, and needs. I’ve also potty trained three dogs and worked with them on basic commands, giving me hands-on experience with training and understanding dog behavior. I also volunteered at an animal shelter, where I regularly walked dogs and spent time keeping them company. That experience taught me how important it is to approach every new dog patiently and respectfully, while paying attention to their body language and comfort level. I know that every dog is different and that even the sweetest dogs can be unpredictable in a new environment. I take the time to build trust and let each dog warm up to me at their own pace. Above all, I’m patient, attentive, and genuinely love caring for animals. My goal is to make every pup feel safe, comfortable, and loved while they’re in my care—just like one of my own. I'm currently not working at the moment, so I have lots of time to help cater to your dog's needs! I am free most weekdays and weekends, from early morning to early afternoon. I believe the best pet care starts with keeping pets comfortable in their own routine and environment. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their usual feeding, walking, potty, medication, and play schedules as closely as possible. I also take time to give them plenty of attention, exercise, and companionship so they feel safe and cared for while their family is away. Because I’ve been pet sitting for over 10 years and have volunteered at an animal shelter, I’m comfortable with dogs of many different personalities. I understand that every dog is different, and I’m patient when getting to know a new pet and attentive to their body language and individual needs. I treat your home with the same respect and care I would want someone to show my own.

We both have experience with dogs ranging from 8 weeks old to senior-hood. Dogs of all shapes and sizes are welcome as our goal is to serve as their home away from home 😊 We work from home mostly everyday with a very flexible schedule, so your pup will never go long periods of time being alone while in our care. Your pup will have access to the entire home and will be with us wherever we are :)
About: Hello my name is Shondra and I absolutely love dogs. as a retiree, I'm home most of the time, so your pup will receive plenty of attention, companionship, and care throughout the day-they'll never be left alone for long periods. I've had dogs my entire life and have experience training German Shorthaired Pointers as hunting dogs. Although I no longer hunt, the knowledge, patience, and dedication I gained from training them helps me provide excellent care for every dog I meet. I walk my own dog every day, and if your pup enjoys walks and is able to join us, I'd be happy to include them in our daily adventures. My home is clean, safe, and pet-friendly, giving your furry family member a comfortable place to relax and feel at home. I know how important it is to stay connected while you're away, so i'll send you daily photos and updates so you can see all the fun your pup is having and peace of mind. If you have a puppy, I can also help with crate training and potty training by following a consistent routine and using positive reinforcement, but it has to be with a crate for cleanliness. My promise is simple: I'll care for your dog with the same love, patience, and attention that I give my own. I look forward to welcoming your furry family member into my home. I have saved my dog Kiddy (who has now passed away at 19yrs old) from near death when she was 16yrs old. She had an infected tooth which got into her blood and caused her to almost die. the doctor gave her antibiotics but she wasn't eating or drinking for days. I put in a blender chicken and pedialyte, I then poured it into a feeding syringe and carefully put it in her mouth, I did this for 2 days and she came back to life. She got her tooth pulled as soon as she was better. I wanted to tell my story so you know that I will do whatever it takes to care for your pup. Our fur babies are family❤️❤️🙏 I am retired and home to take care of your pup. I do have one little dog and 2 cats. My pup is on an eating schedule and walking schedule so if your pup is on any schedule I will accommodate. My dogs and cats are cherished members of the family, and I will treat your animals as my extended family. My goal is to provide a safe, loving, and comfortable home where your pet feels happy and secure while your pet feels happy and secure will you're away. I have a fully fenced yard for outdoor play and live close to a park, where your pup can enjoy daily walks and exercise. I also have a swimming pool that is not fenced; however, your pets safety is my highest priority, and I closely supervise all outdoor time to ensure they stay safe. if your pet requires medication, I am experienced and comfortable administering it according to your instructions. I will also follow your preferred feeding schedule and routine to help your pet feel at home. I specialize in caring for small to medium-size dogs. if your pup enjoys relaxing on the couch, they're welcome to cuddle up with me. I can provide a crate if needed, or you're welcome to bring your own if that's what your pup is accustomed to sleeping in. For the comfort and cleanliness of my home, I do require that all pets be potty trained or crated while learning to be potty trained. I also understand that every pet has unique needs. For example, I currently care for a friends dog who uses a dog litter box, so im happy to accommodate that setup if needed. As a special treat, I make homemade boil chicken treats that many dogs love, of course, I will always follow any dietary restrictions or special instructions you provide. Most importantly, I will care for your pet with the same love, patience, and attention that I give my own. I want every dog or cat in my care to feel safe, loved, and right at home.

About: Hi, I’m Celeste! 🐾 I’m a friendly, passionate animal lover who has been working with animals since 2018. I started my career working at a boarding facility, where I cared for dogs and cats and handled their day-to-day needs, including feeding, administering medications, and providing plenty of exercise and enrichment through walks, fetch, swimming, and agility. As I gained experience, I moved into dog training and have worked with puppies through adult dogs of all breeds. I have experience teaching everything from basic obedience to advanced training. I’ve also worked in a veterinary hospital, giving me additional experience caring for animals and understanding their individual needs. I also offer basic grooming services upon request, including baths, blow-drying, nail trims, and ear cleaning. 🛁🐶 I have a fully fenced yard where your dog can safely play, explore, and potty. I also have a separate room where your dog can relax, decompress, or be crated if that is part of their normal routine. Since I don’t currently have any pets of my own, your dog can enjoy a calm environment without having to share their space with other resident animals. 🧼 Clean & Safe Environment Your pet’s safety is my #1 priority! I sanitize my yard daily and use kennel-grade cleaning products throughout my home, crates, and yard to maintain a clean and sanitary environment for every pet in my care. I know how hard it can be to leave your pets with someone else, and I want you to feel confident knowing they are safe, comfortable, cared for, and treated like family while you’re away. ❤️🐾 I’m a stay at home mom looking to earn more income! I have always been around animals in my last jobs and this is a way to still do that while being home! I treat pets in my home as if they are mine. I follow the instructions for feedings provided by the owners. I have plenty water set out for the pets during play times or walks. I can do training sessions while your pets are here or offer grooming services for the departure.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
