About: I have grown up around dogs and have experience caring for, walking, feeding, and keeping them entertained. I currently have an Australian Shepherd of my own, so I am very comfortable with energetic dogs who need plenty of exercise and attention. I’m reliable, patient, and will treat your dog like my own. I’d love to help with walks, playtime, and check-ins when you are away or busy! I’m a college student, so my schedule varies throughout the week, but I have plenty of availability for walks and drop-in visits between classes and in the evenings. I’m also available most weekends and am happy to work with you to find times that fit your pet’s routine. I always treat your pet and home with care and respect. I’ll follow any instructions you provide regarding feeding, walks, medications, routines, or house rules. I’ll make sure your pet is safe and comfortable, give them plenty of attention, and keep you updated.
“Mia came to help care for my cat and dog for a few days while I recovered after a short hospital stay. She was luckily available on rather short notice which was much appreciated. She did a great job and I will definitely call on her again!”

About: I’ve taken care of my dogs since I was little. I have watched my neighbors cat making sure the litter box is cleaned and she was feed. I have done that with another cat as well as chicks. I have also house sit / watch a Great Dane before who had separation anxiety made sure him and his cat friends were feed and taken care of. I work part time and will be able to provide all the care, live and attention needed for your pets care wether it’s walks check ins or house sittings. I will always keep the house as found when I am checking in on the pets as well as insuring if any messes by and animal or me happen while I’m around it will be cleaned.
“Becky is a wonderful pet sitter. My cats trusted her at first sight. Becky is punctual and followed all the instructions exactly. I will definitely contact her next time.”
About: I have years of experience caring for a wide variety of animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, and horses. As an Animal Science major on the Pre-Veterinary track, I’ve gained valuable hands-on experience through shadowing and internships at veterinary clinics, learning to handle animals safely and confidently. In addition to my academic and professional background, I’ve been caring for pets belonging to neighbors, friends, and family for many years, from walking energetic dogs to feeding cats and small animals. I’m comfortable working with puppies, senior pets, and those with unique personalities or special needs, and I always provide patient, compassionate, and individualized care for every pet I meet. Pet care fits easily into my weekly routine! Although I have classes during the day as an Animal Science major on the Pre-Veterinary track, I have several breaks between classes that give me time to stop by for walks or drop-in visits. I love spending that time with animals—it’s a great way to take a break from studying and do something meaningful. I’m also available most mornings, evenings, and weekends, so I can provide flexible care that fits your pet’s routine and ensures they’re always well looked after. When caring for pets in my clients’ homes, I always prioritize safety, comfort, and trust. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, preferences, and any special instructions so they feel secure and cared for while you’re away. I make sure doors and gates are properly closed, keep walk routes safe and familiar, and always use leashes and harnesses appropriately. During drop-in visits, I focus on maintaining a calm, positive environment—providing fresh water, feeding according to your schedule, cleaning up as needed, and giving plenty of playtime or cuddles. My goal is to ensure every pet feels happy, loved, and stress free until you return.

About: Spending years helping out at my family’s dog kennel and hunt club I have gained hands on experience of dog handling, behavioral training, obedience, hunt test training, and in depth care. I am a college student at South Dakota State University so day to day my schedule varies. I am open to all days and weekends working around my classes. Safety is my number one priority. Making sure the animals are safe and well cared for is a must. Being respectful to the clients and their home is a must as well.
About: I have taken care of dogs and cats since I was young both domestic and street dogs. My neighbors, and family have relied on me to walk, feed their pets. I go above because I love spending time with them as they are our extended family. I am currently working from home, with flexible work schedule. I can be contacted last minute for dog or cat sitting or walking. I am just a phone call away: My apartment is clean and spacious. They will be allowed to run free and walk regularly with love and care. Always available as needed. J
“Harley was very attentive to our two adult cats. She was also responsive as we had a couple issues with getting her access through our smart app on phone in our new apartment. Harley worked with us through with fantastic communication 👏 as we were traveling out of state to resolve the issue. Highly recommended 👌”

About: Growing up we’ve always had dogs of all ages, so I am skilled at caring for both puppies and senior dogs. I have also had experience taking care of neighbors’ dogs as well while they were away. Currently I am a cat mom, so not only am I capable of caring for cats, but I also have a deep understanding of the love, worry, and responsibility that pet owners experience. All of this being said, I can assure you that your pets will be in good hands when I am around! I currently have a part time internship with a flexible schedule, so I am well equipped to tend to your pets needs. However, I am unavailable most weekends due to family caregiving duties out of town. Since I am a cat mom, I’m not entirely comfortable allowing other animals in my home. However, I am more than willing to go to clients’ homes to feed, walk, let outside, give medicine, cuddle, or play with pets.
About: With years of pet care experience, I provide personalized attention including puppy care, senior dog care and medication administration. Of course I provide plenty of love and exercise when needed! As a full-time college student and athlete, I have plenty of availability during the summer! I’m free almost all day, except from 3 PM to 5 PM, and I’m completely available on weekends. I provide compassionate care in your home, ensuring your dog feels comfortable and secure. For pet sitting, I maintain your pet’s routine, offering feeding, playtime, and exercise, while keeping their environment clean and stress-free. For dog walking, I provide safe, engaging walks tailored to your pet’s needs, ensuring they get the exercise and mental stimulation they deserve. My goal is to create a loving, trustworthy experience while you’re away!

Becca was so great with Nico! She did the essentials, like making sure he had clean water, fresh food, and cleaned his litter box — but also made time to give him attention. She also provided pictures/updates so I was able to check in and see my fur baby. 😊

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
