“Bonnie was so great! She was very communicative and very intentional about letting us know which of our pets she saw and which she didn’t, which was very comforting considering a hurricane passed through while we were away. We will definitely be using her again in the future!”

“Dinira was so fantastic!! She took great care of my cat while I was away and sent lots of pics. She was always quick to respond and very reliable. Highly recommend booking with her!!”

“Flora is amazing! This is the second time I have booked her and I cannot recommend her enough! She is prompt, great with the cats, and even checked to make sure all my chickens made it into the coop.”

“Chelsie took wonderful care of my cat, Pablo, during our 8 days of twice a day drop in visits. She is clearly great with cats and connected with Pablo right away during the meet and greet. I really appreciate her consistent updates and photos while I was away. I will definitely rebook Chelsie again for future pet sitting needs and I highly recommend her to others! It was so nice to have the peace of mind that he was in such great hands while I was so busy on my long trip.”

“Betty did a great job taking the time my boy needed to get more comfortable on his first visit. He's a super sweet boy but shy and apprehensive at first. She helped make him feel comfortable and he warmed up quickly. I expect the next visits will be even better. Thank you Betty!”

About: I grew up with 2 lab mixes from 6 years old through college. As well as a German shepherd and I now myself own a Rottweiler mix who’s 2 years old. I’ve always loved dogs and have watched my college friends’ dogs when I was in college. I work part time at a bar doing evening shifts Thursday-Sundays. So I’m looking for work to pick up on Monday-Friday. I’m available in the late mornings to mid afternoons. While I can’t house your dog, I will be happy to take your dog on walks. Play fetch with them in the backyard. Often I take my own dog to a park to play fetch in the early morning. I believe a happy puppy is a tired puppy.
About: I have a soft spot for animals because I grew up with lots of them and hope to help strays in the future. I’ve helped my mom my entire life with her dog business so I’m very familiar and comfortable with caring for dogs! I have a very flexible schedule so I’m typically available if needed. I am able to do a few drop ins a day and for long term clients, overnight stays. If your pet needs to be let out in a fenced area or walked I can do that along with feeding and providing fresh water when needed. Additionally, I don’t mind a little enrichment such as playing fetch or a little tug of war. All animals should feel safe and comfortable and I provide that feeling.
“Friendly and reliable, Tricia kept me aware of how my dog was doing on a daily basis during my time out of town. A very easy experience. Came home to a happy and healthy pup.”

“Amaya was very attentive to our cat while we were out of town! She went above and beyond to make sure he was well taken care of. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone with an eye for detail and love for animals!”

About: Do you need someone for the holidays? Please let me know because I love dogs and cats! I have 2 dogs of my own and 2 grand-kitties! I will treat your pets like I want mine to be treated! I care about them just like you do! Think of me as their surrogate aunt or even grandma! We will have fun together-leave me a list and I will follow it! I work part-time. I am available most days early afternoon, evenings and weekends. I go to church on Sunday mornings. I will be available as much as possible! You can trust me. I send updates and pictures. I learn as much as possible during our meet and greet. I am willing to learn about your pet, take good notes for our time to be successful and FUN!

“Completely dependable! Have used her for multiple trips and know that my pets are well cared for. Goes above and beyond to be sure everyone has what they need and communicates promptly! I don’t think our pups will want us to come home after being treated so well, lol.”

“Morgan is always professional, communicative, and tailors her time with my dogs to what they want/feel like doing. She is compassionate and detail-oriented, and I feel completely at ease leaving my girl with chronic bronchitis in her care. I cannot say enough good things about Morgan!”

About: I’ve had my own pets for over 40 years. They were my babies and I cared for them as such!! They are my heart’s passion. I’m now a healthy strong retired woman who has loved to help family and friends pet sit their 4 legged babies. So I’m opening myself up to others!! I have a safe place to walk animals by my condo and parents with a beautiful back yard to also take them to adventure. It’s just me in my house so it’s clean, safe, simple sweet and quiet atmosphere.
About: I have taken care of dogs and cats ranging in age and health. I have experience with elderly dogs, cats, and giving oral and topical medicine. As well as, taking care of multiple animals at once and balancing different routines. I have a flexible schedule so I’m able to care for your pets in any capacity needed. I’m available for house sitting and multiple visits a day, to assure your pets safety and security. You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
