About: I am not your typical pet-sitter. I have spent my entire life caring for all types of animals. My first job was at a pet store learning the skills of working with animals and their people. After college I worked as a zookeeper where I cared for everything from mealworms all the way to rhinos. Specialized care was the name of the game there and I was able to recognize the smallest details on how to improve my work with exotics. Then I was led into the world of shelter work. Where I studied pet behavior and early signs of stress and how enrichment can help save lives. Many animals coming into the shelter would need some form of medication as well. I have a skillset of administering medications and making sure the animals actually receive their meds. Lastly, I was a dog training apprentice. I was able to form bonds with dogs that most people wouldn't come near. I can read body language well and know how to show dogs respect. I aim to be your go-to pet-sitter where you can actually enjoy your trip. I will make your pet my priority. I have an excellent ability to find balance in my schedule. You can trust that your pet is cared for how you want them to be. I have quite a few pets in my home and all are well cared for. I will offer the same care to the animals you care for. About: We are a pet-friendly home with one cat, two older kids who love dogs and all animals, and myself who will take gentle care of your dog/s, as well as cats, and/or all other animals while you are away. No type of animal (unless aggressive) will likely be turned away. I have loved and cared for my own pet dogs, cats, birds, and other critters my entire life, and I know and understand that you are trusting me to care for a member of your family. We do not take this responsibility lightly. In addition to several years of pet care, I have also had experience and training with professional bathing and grooming of dogs and cats, and caring for special-needs animals, including puppies, kittens, elderly dogs and cats including those with arthritis and diabetes, administering medicine, and giving injections and subcutaneous fluids. Also have done walking at the daycare and also with my own dogs. I have took care of seniors also that have needed medicine I'm a stay at home mom with my baby daughter, 2 dogs Toby and Koda, and my fluffy playful kitten Snooze.
