“Abby did a fantastic job taking care of my fur babies! I have a couple of very shy cats and she kept in contact with me to let me know they were okay. I would happily book Abby again the next time I need a sitter.”

About: I have lots of experience working with animals, including time working at an animal hospital during high school, where I learned to care for pets of all kinds. I’m familiar with administering medications and meeting the unique needs of different animals. I am currently searching for a summer job while taking a couple summer classes while i finish my associate degree. My schedule is very open! In my home i have one dog a very friend golden retriever who loves playdates and we have a big yard by woods. I’m very attendant and anxious so i spend a lot of time outside with my dog and love going for walks
“Brooke was terrific! She sent us plenty of photos, kept us up-to-date on our diabetic cat and was very comfortable calling or texting with questions (since we hadn't provided all of the answers). She was on time and extremely caring. We'll definitely be hiring her again.”

“Charlotte was great with our 7 month old kitten, Ella! We left detailed instructions and she followed them perfectly, and made time to play as well. Ella seemed very comfortable with Charlotte from the photos that were shared after each drop in so will definitely be re-booking in the future!”

“Jonas has been great with our cat, spending videos and keeping us updated. They also waded through 17” of snow when we were out of town to feed our cat, and changed around their schedule to bring a package in for us before the snow came. Would highly recommend!”

About: I have been around animals my entire life. I have worked with all kinds of sizes, temperaments, and personalities. I currently volunteer with the ARLGP, and love the skills I learn every day from the dogs and other animals there. Whether your dog is the easiest to walk, or needs some special attention (and strength!), I am here to help! Your pets may come back with better manners than when they left :) I am a business owner, and am often home at my property in Topsham enjoying the sunshine or local trails with them. Despite my own travel, my schedule is incredibly open and flexible! We have a small portion of our yard that has a light fence, we usually just walk the dogs or take them to the nearby dog park. Our little guy is an ex-escape artist, so we are always double checking, paying attention, and increasing security on walks / outings! Safety is a huge priority!

“Natalie took great care of our dog Lemon on short notice. She followed all instructions and sent great updates/photos! We will definitely reach back out to book in the future.”

“Amazing to work with! She provided excellent care for my 2 cats while I was traveling as well as kept me up to date. She was flexible and understanding of my travel.”

“Lena did a great job looking after my dog. She was prompt and able to accommodate my schedule at the last minute for a meet and greet and my dog instantly loved her. She followed all of the directions I left for her and left the house exactly how she found it! I was reassured knowing my dog was in great hands while I was away. Would recommend!”

“Lauren took good care of my dog Titus, while I was away, and I could not have been more pleased with the experience. She was incredibly attentive and loving, taking the time to understand my dog's needs and personality. She provided regular updates and cute photos, which really put my mind at ease. I could see that Titus was happy and well cared for. Upon return, Titus seemed relaxed and content, which is a testament to the wonderful care he received. Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Bowdoinham. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
