“I cannot say enough good about Stephanie! She's so personable and amazing with our cats. She always takes incredible care of them and sits with them to pet, play, and snuggle, so they're more comfortable while we are away.”
“Heather was the best to our boys!! We were nervous with leaving them for the first time but she took such good care of them and sent lots of pics! We knew they were in great hands which made our vacation that much better:)”
“This was my first time since moving and having my cat alone so I was nervous to hire someone to check in on her. Tai was communicative, caring, friendly and sweet! She closely followed the instructions I left. I am so grateful for the last minute drop-in visit. I will definitely reach out again and would recommend her for anyone’s pet!”
About: I have 4 years of experience caring for my family pets and truly enjoy spending time with animals. I’m comfortable with dogs of different sizes and personalities and can help with feeding, walks, playtime, bathroom breaks, and giving pets the attention they need. I’m patient, responsible, and always make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their owners are away. I’m currently a college student with a flexible schedule, which gives me plenty of time to care for your pets. I’m available for walks, drop-in visits, boarding depending on my class schedule, and weekend stays so you can have your weekend getaways knowing your pet is safe. I’m happy to work with you to find a schedule that fits your pet’s routine and needs. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I will follow your instructions carefully, keep a close eye on your pet, and make sure they receive plenty of attention and care. I’m responsible, patient, and understand that every pet has different needs and routines. I’ll also keep you updated with messages and pictures so you know your pet is doing well.
“Lisa was amazing! We left our cats for over a week which was a long time for them, they can be a little upset with us when we get home, but they were happy and curious, so I know Lisa spent some time each day with them playing and talking to them. She sent pictures everyday and was very quick to respond to any of our questions. She was absolutely wonderful and would highly recommend her! We'll definitely use her again in the future!”
“Ronny has been great. Our dogs love him and come running when we say his name. He is very communicative. He takes the time to answer questions and offer advise for our puppy training. I will, and am, using his services again.”
“Murray was the best sitter we’ve could’ve asked for while we were away. He communicate daily and included photos and information about our fur babies. In fact, our shih-poos are two that don’t warm up to people immediately, but it was literally no time at all before Murray was treated like he was one of the family. He definitely has a way with establishing trust, nurture and genuine care shared in every visit.”

“Marshall is an incredible pet sitter! He is very caring, responsible, and thoughtful! Because of him we were able to enjoy our vacation knowing someone was caring for our cats just how we would! He took pictures and gave us updates on the cats as well which we appreciated! We are new to Rover and we are glad that Marshall was our first experience using Rover! Thank you Marshall!”
“Kayla was fabulous! We had her stop by to let the dogs out while we were out of town for the day. The dogs loved her and she communicated during the visit. We will definitely use her again!”

Your pet will receive plenty of love and attention!
About: I have loved animals my entire life. At 8 years old, I got my first kitten and have been caring for animals of all kinds since then. I've even successfully hatched praying mantises! I have handled special needs animals, including cancer patients, and I am a quick learner. Happy to administer meds and do basic grooming as well (brushing, nail trims) if your animal is cooperative. I love cats, dogs, bunnies, and reptiles and am open to sitting for most any creature. As an entrepreneur, I am super flexible, so I can almost always work with your scheduling needs unless I'm traveling for an event. I can even make multiple visits per day or do overnight pet/house sitting. I am an avid cuddler and will be your pet's ultimate companion while you're gone. I am highly empathic and am currently studying feline reflexology. Your animal's comfort and serenity are as much of a top priority to me as their physical needs. I will love your baby as much as you do and will do my absolute best to keep them happy and safe for you. After all, animals are family. 🫶🏼

Highly recommend as always...Carley truly cares about the cats she takes care of, she let us know as soon as there was a change in behavior. Luckily it was nothing, but we know we can always trust her to take great care of our "kids" and they truly do love seeing her as well.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
