“We booked xinyi last minute- she took the effort and time to come meet Maxwell the night before anyway and made both of our pets so comfortable right off the bat. We will definitely book again!”

“Beyond happy to find Kara on Rover to take care of my kitties! She did an excellent job. Sent pictures and spent time with them. I highly recommend Kara and will definitely be contacting her for all the future cat care. Kara is very sweet and kind. I knew I was leaving them in great hands and felt so comfortable for her to come into our home while away! Thank you, Kara!”

“Juliana is great with my two dogs! She is communicative, punctual and easy to work with. She gives my dogs enough potty time and is winning over my anxious dog when she checks in on her and gives her treats. So happy to have her drop in throughout the week when I am at work!”

“Mikayla did a great job taking care of our dogs. We have 2 very different breeds with different needs a d Mikayla took care of them so well. I had complete peace of mind with her thorough drop ins. We are from out of town, but I will recommend her to anyone in the Morgantown, WV area. Our dogs were so happy with her, and so were we. I will 100% use her again if/when we return to the area.”

About: Hi, I’m Brad — a lifelong animal lover with decades of dog ownership and experience caring for dogs, but I love pets of all kinds (well, except spiders and snakes...). As a dependable professional in my 50s, I bring calm, trustworthy, and attentive care (and lots of snuggles, if they are up for it) to every animal I work with. I’m comfortable with dogs of all sizes, and I’m committed to clear communication, reliability, and respecting your home and routines. Whether your pet needs walks, playtime, or steady companionship, I’m here to help. I’d love to care for your four-legged family member! I am a realtor with a very flexible schedule, and I would like to invest some of my non-realtor time to caring for your four-legged friends! All I require is dependable wifi, and I can conduct almost all of my "office" work remotely. I will show up for drop-ins and house sitting fully prepared to care for your pets, and provide the care they need. Feeding, walking, playing, and "scooping", as needed, are all part of my repertoire.
About: I’ve been around animals my entire life and truly love caring for them. I currently have one cat but I’ve had pets of all kinds over the years. Whether it’s feeding, playing, or just keeping them company, I understand the importance of giving pets the attention and care they deserve. You can count on me to treat your pets like my own! I have a full time job that is done at 3:00 PM. I will be able to complete tasks starting at 3:30 PM. On weekends I have full availability. Safety is always my top priority when caring for pets. I make sure each animal is in a secure, pet-friendly environment and take the time to learn their routines, preferences, and any special needs. I’m careful with feeding schedules, medication (if needed), and always keep an eye out for any signs of stress or discomfort. I’m also mindful of indoor/outdoor safety, keeping doors closed, leashes secure, and making sure they’re never left unattended in unsafe situations. Your pet’s well-being and comfort are always my main focus.
About: I’ve been pet sitting for my neighborhood since middle school. I have watched all kinds of pets from birds to dogs! I love to go for walks and jogs, and am used to high energy pets. I am currently a student at WVU and have morning to afternoon classes with breaks in between. Other than class I am home and always willing to commute. I am very attentive and have taken care of puppies, dogs, kittens, and cats at different points. I have skills and knowledge of how to work with pets of all ages and sizes.
About: I will care for any type of animal, whether it’s puppies or senior dogs or cats. I am also on the pre-vet track in college, along with participating in clubs like wildlife and vet. In college I don't get the opportunity to see many pets, at home I have a gecko I care for when I'm there, and over breaks I tend to pet sit family or family friends. So while pet care is not in my daily life I have experience caring for pets over many years. Caring for pets either in their home or mine I will listen to their very specific instructions because I know how picky some animals are.
About: "My home used to be filled with cats and a whole pack of little dogs. Over the years things have changed, and right now my sole companion is a wonderful senior tabby cat named Batman." I'm currently not working, I just stay home, take care of the house and my senior tabby, Batman. I have nothing except time to help care for your fur babies. I live at the end of the road in a very quiet neighborhood with a big yard. Plenty of space inside and outside of the home.
About: I have had dogs all of my life and they bring me such joy! I specialize in watching small to medium dogs, however, I am able to watch larger breeds as well! As the semester begins, I will be available flexible hours during the week to help you best! I learn my regular work schedule week-to-week, but I am open to being as flexible as you need. My apartment has an un-fenced yard and a dog park! As a sitter, I will be taking them to the dog park to cause less possible stress to an animal. I also live in a 1-bedroom apartment, so animals are free to comfortably roam!
“Amber did a great job checking in on our cats and bunny while we were away for vacation. She made the effort to do a meet and greet beforehand, and followed all of our care instructions during her drop ins. We would recommend her to anyone who needs local pet care, and we will definitely check her availability the next time we need someone to care for our animals!”

About: I have cared for many animals of neighbors, friends, and clients. In my situation, I’d love to have a pup of my own, but feel it would be financially irresponsible at this time. This app has proven to be the next best thing for me! I care for all animals as if they were my own, and have a knack for getting close to them on a high emotional level. My time around my work schedule is flexible, so I can be there for your furry friends. My schedule also allows me to spend quality time, full time, with the dogs I care for. I have a spacious, dog friendly apartment with direct access to the rail trail! Dogs are welcome on furniture, beds, and anywhere I am. My house is spacious and safe for pets of all sizes. I have a wonderful track record with everyone that has utilized my services, and I’d love the opportunity to get to know some more pups. I’ve proven to be a great fit for taking care of any kind of dog. They really are one of a kind pets. Please consider me for your next booking! I mostly work nights during the week. This gives me a good amount of flexibility during the daytime to plan my schedule around the needs of your pets. I do my best to tailor each stay to your pets’ specific needs. The more information given, the better care I can provide for your pups. In my home and yours, each pup I care for is treated like my own.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
