Though there aren’t a lot of dog beach options in Larchmont (it seems that the only dog beach there has closed down), you can still swing by one of these spots with your four-legged friend. - The beach area is accessible via the 9th Street entrance
- Use caution – the water at the Dog Beach gets deep quickly

- A special little bay area that humans and dogs adore
- The beach gets crowded on weekends, so be prepared
- It’s best to take your dogs past the main entrance — that’s where the families and children are usually hanging out

- Dogs are welcome on the beach without leashes in the off-season
- From the second Sunday in through September 30, pups can only hang out before 10 a.m. and after 6 p.m. ON leash. At any other time, dogs sadly aren’t allowed on the beach at all
- Plastic bags are available at the park — so you’ll have no reason not to pick up after your pup
- Make sure to follow the rules, as the beaches are actively patrolled

4. Brooklyn Bridge Park

- To get to the water, you’re going to want to head to Pier 4 Beach
- People don’t swim in this spot, but it’s great for dogs who want to cool off

5. Hither Hills State Park

- Located on the southern shore near the eastern tip of Long Island
- You can bring your dog north of Montauk Parkway, east of Napeague Harbor and west of overlook parking
- Keep your dog on a leash (no more than 6 feet long)
- Enjoy the lovely scenery – just keep dogs out of camping, bathing and picnic areas
- Wide, flat and sandy, it’s the perfect place for strolling
- Heads up – it gets a little crowded here
