When spending time in Venice it’s essential to take your pup to the best dog beaches around. Though there aren’t a ton of places in the area, we’ve gathered a couple of options that you and your dog will have fun exploring.
Best Dog-Friendly Beaches in Venice
- Browhard Paw Park
- Venice Municipal Beach
Browhard Paw Park (1600 S Harbor Dr., Venice FL 34285) is truly a beach designed with your furry best friend in mind. Your dog will adore the amenities which include doggie showers (no bringing stinky dogs home for you!), drinking fountains, and even fire hydrants where they can relieve themselves in style. There are also super-clean facilities for humans as well, plus picnic tables if you feel like making it a family outing.
Just a heads up – this is a popular spot so expect some crowds. And though most visitors are great about picking up after their pups and keeping them under control, you’re always going to have a few loose cannons. So be prepared!
The beach is open from 7 a.m. to sunset, and features plenty of free parking. Have fun mingling with the friendly locals – we know your dog is going to have a blast.
While you’re in Venice you can also stop by Venice Municipal Beach (401 West Venice Ave., Venice FL 34285), where dogs are allowed in certain areas, though they do need to stay on a leash. This is a beautiful place to wander, but it’s a little less pet-oriented, so be sure to bring your own dog bags and water – they won’t be provided here.
There are also some special rules for dog-friendly beaches in Venice. For examples, pets are allowed on the boardwalks of Venice Municipal Beach between September and May, but they aren’t allowed during the summer months.
Not enough time to exercise your dog properly while you’re in Venice? Not to worry, we have trained, enthusiastic local dog walkers available. They’ll be happy to take your dog for a stroll and give you peace of mind while you enjoy your vacation.
