Midwestern cities are well-known for their friendly people and great hospitality, and Cincinnati is no exception. Not only is Cincinnati a great place to live, boasting two professional sports teams, major international company headquarters and local breweries, it’s also extremely dog-friendly. Check out the top 10 best places for you and your pooch.

Mt. Adams, located about a quarter of a mile directly east of downtown along the Ohio River, is one of the most dog-friendly neighborhoods in Cincinnati.

With its proximity to Eden Park and abundance of friendly business owners waiting to offer your pooch a treat, both you and your dog can enjoy an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Each year, on the second Saturday of December, Mt. Adams hosts the Reindog Parade, an event where dogs adorned in various holiday accouterments parade through the blocked-off streets on the hill, all in support of the local Society of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Great American Ball Park
100 Joe Nuxhall Way
Cincinnati, OH 45202

Twice a year, Great American Ball Park invites baseball fans to bring their dogs to “Bark In The Park,” to help cheer on the Cincinnati Reds. Special human + dog tickets sell out quickly!

Crowley’s
958 Pavilion St.
Cincinnati, OH 45202

Crowley’s is an old Irish Pub on the hill of Mt. Adams that allows you to bring Fido along while you grab a beer (or two!) With a special container of homemade treats that can be found behind the bar, neighborhood regulars can enjoy their drinks while the dogs munch on a treat of their own.

Hyde Park Square
2700 Erie Ave
Cincinnati, OH 45208

Hyde Park Square, located at the intersection of Erie Avenue and Michigan Avenue, is a mecca for young professionals and new parents. On the weekends, families bring their dog (and strollers) to the square to grab brunch or visit the farmers market. Nearly every boutique or restaurant has a dog bowl outside, tempting owners to stick around the square for just a little longer.

PetWants
1813 Pleasant St.
Cincinnati, OH 45202

PetWants: The Urban Feed Store not only provides downtown dwellers easy access to pet food, litter, and toys, they also foster adoptable dogs and feature them at the store. Their All-Natural Pet Food, which is made in Ohio, is available for delivery in select Cincinnati areas.

WagsPark
3810 Church St.
Cincinnati OH 45244

For the dog that seeks exclusivity, Wags Park fits the bill. The three-acre dog park offers an official competition dock diving board, doggie playsets and agility courses for its pampered pooches. A one-year unlimited membership to this exclusive, private dog park will cost you $25/month.

Ace Hardware
344 Ludlow Ave.
Cincinnati OH 45220

If you’re strolling through Clifton’s Gaslight District with your dog, pop in ACE Hardware – Clifton so your dog can catch a drink of water and receive a Milk Bone from one of their cashiers.

Otto Armleder
5057 Wooster Pike
Cincinnati, OH 45226

Visit Moochie & Co. at Kenwood Town Center on a Saturday and you’ll be greeted with one of many local rescue organizations and a few of their dogs. In addition to offering dog toys, accessories and treats, the mall-based retailers hosts canine caricature artists and local photographers to raise money for local shelters.

Otto Armleder Dog Park
5057 Wooster Pike
Cincinnati, OH 45226

Otto Armleder Dog Park is the premiere, free dog park option for dog owners in Cincinnati. This dog-centric oasis features a 10-acre dog park with large play fields, a separate field for small dogs and a canopied area with dog shower and drinking fountains.

So there you have it. Plenty of places for you to take your furry friend in the Queen City.
