Rover Dog Sitter Spotlight: Gabriela V.
Earlier this year Gabriela was experiencing a void, once filled by her handsome Labrador Retriever, Chopper. She was left with a stack of vet bills and a broken heart. Soon after, a friend of Gabriela’s posted a link to Rover.com on their Facebook page. 6 months later Gabriela’s home is once again filled with the sound of paws on the tile and couch-time cuddles.
Now a dog sitter on Rover, Gabriela connected with Manchester Terrier mix, Niki and her owner, Sheryl. Niki is now a frequent visitor to Gabriela’s home.

What do you recommend a sitter do to make a dog’s stay more comfortable?
G: My suggestion is that they obtain as much information on the pet they are sitting prior to their first visit. Questions include: What is a phone number where the owner can be reached in case of emergency? Which treats is the pet is allowed to have?
What is your favorite thing about Rover.com?
G: Just one? It is a win-win for not only for Niki, her owners, and me but I also am donating 10% of my earnings to PAWS Seattle and 10% to Animal Haven. Rover.com has also helped me achieve my goal of paying off my vet bill debt sooner than I had expected.
If you were a dog what kind of dog would you be?
G: That’s easy! A Labrador Retriever of course!

S: Niki always seems happy and eager to show off the many toys Gabriela keeps at her home for the dogs.

S: Positive animal-loving energy. Flexibility with time frames.

S: I was surfing the web looking for an alternative to, or a new, kennel. While doing the research I read about Rover.
What is your favorite thing about Rover.com?
S: Choices. Ease of website. The fact that I pay ahead of the visit, online and with a credit card. When I have so many last minute things to do before a trip I like knowing that I am paid in advance.
