Rover introduced tipping! Here are some answers to frequently asked questions about tipping on the Rover platform.
Where is tipping available?
Currently, pet owners living in every city across the United States and Canada will have the option to leave a tip after any service.
Do pet care providers receive the full tip amount?
Yes, pet care providers receive 100% of the tips left by pet owners.
When is a pet owner able to leave a tip for their pet care provider?
Pet owners will have the opportunity to tip once a stay is complete and they are prompted to leave a review of their sitter.
Are owners required to leave a tip?
No, there is no obligation to tip for the service provided.
How is tipping calculated?
Other Services: Owners will be given the option to leave no tip, 10%, 15%, 20%, or a custom tip of up to 100% of the service rate for their sitter.
When does a pet care provider get paid out for their tips?
If the tip is left before the pet care provider has been paid out for the service, then the tip will be paid out along with the service. If the tip is left after the pet care provider has been paid out for the service, then the money will be added to their account within 24 hours of when the tip is left.
How will pet care providers know that they’ve been tipped?
If a pet owner tips a pet care provider, the provider will receive a notification within the booking conversation, as well as in an email.
