In upstate New York, the Niagara SPCA is trying a cool new way to get the word out about adoptable dogs — pizza boxes!

When Niagara SPCA events coordinator Kimberly LaRussa floated the idea to post flyers on her pizza boxes, Just Pizza and Wings owner Mary Alloy jumped at the chance. As an animal lover, Mary had always wanted to volunteer at the shelter but just couldn’t find time to do more than donate food for their events.

Mary told CNN “I sent her a flyer for her approval for the boxes and she said she broke down in tears. That’s just the kind of person she is. We are so grateful to Mary and Just Pizza.”

The promotion has excited so much attention that the shop is now offering a $50 gift certificate to any customers who adopt the dog pictured on their pizza box. Don’t forget to share a crust with your new best friend!

“We are always looking for ways that our business can give back, so when Niagara SPCA approached us about advertising their shelter dogs on our pizza boxes, it was a no-brainer. We hope our customers enjoy seeing the dog’s adorable faces as much as we do and that it helps these beautiful animals find the loving homes they deserve,” Mary told CNN.
