Can My Dog Eat Cinnamon Toast Crunch?

Caring for Your Dog

Maybe. Cinnamon Toast Crunch won’t hurt your dog if you share a little as a snack (unless your dog is diabetic), but there’s nothing in the cereal that will benefit your dog’s health. Cinnamon Toast Crunch is loaded with sugar and additives. It has zero nutritional benefit (for you or your dog!). By no means is it a reasonable replacement for dog food—you’ll leave your dog hungry and deprived of nutrients. Generally speaking, crunchy, grain-free dog treats like these are a healthier choice than cereal.

The Bottom Line

  • If you feel compelled to share cereal, we suggest serving a more beneficial variety, such as bran flakes.
  • If you do offer your dog Cinnamon Toast Crunch, do so very sparingly and in very small amounts.
  • Never offer Cinnamon Toast Crunch as a full meal or as an enticement for your dog to eat his usual food.
