Brazilian Stray Dog Walks Into Car Dealership, Gets a Job, and Finally, a Home

A dog walks into a Hyundai dealership and yes, it really happened. But he didn’t want a test drive or even to go for a ride. He just wanted some food, pets, some love, and a home.

The lonely, stray dog was spotted by Emerson Mariano, Prime Hyundai’s manager, when he showed up on a rainy night, according to news site, A Gazeta. Mariano took pity on the dog, offering water and something to eat. The good dog returned, again and again.

Everyone at the dealership thought the dog would hit the road onto better things, but the persistent canine kept coming back and won the hearts of Mariano and the rest of the staff.

One Lucky Dog

What happened next was probably the best thing to happen to the stray. Mariano soon decided the dealership should adopt the very fortunate dog who then received a vet checkup and all his necessary shots. He was then named Tucson Prime, after none other than the Hyundai Tucson. It was all just in time for this very special canine’s new position at the dealership.

That’s right, Tucson Prime’s determination, along with his adorable good looks paid off. He was offered the “car consultant” role and ran with it. Although he’s still young (only about 1 1/2-years-old), he fit in quickly and should be able to work his way up the ladder. He’ll probably receive lots of treats along the way.

The Face of the Dealership

But for now, he’s a huge hit with not just the staff but all the clients. He’s got his very own badge (so you can find him in a crowd), he sits in on important meetings where he most likely has the last bark, takes important customer calls with his very own phone headset, and his paws know their way around a computer keyboard.

The staff even made him his very own in-dealership doghouse for those important daily nap breaks. Tucson Prime even gets behind the wheel every once in a while, but remember, he’s way too young for his driver’s license, so he can’t take anyone for a spin.

As the furry and very friendly face of the dealership, Tucson Prime now has it made. Not only did he find a home and get adopted, in his new job he’s become quite the superstar with clients who love to interact with him. It’s not easy being the face of the dealership with all those fans. Sometimes they even come back just for a photo op. He’s even garnered more than 166,000 Instagram followers as of this story, and he’s slated to be featured in a Hyundai ad campaign. Talk about an overnight success.

Bringing in Tucson Prime and helping to change his life for the better fits well at the dealership because of its own pet-friendly policy, especially given the number of abandoned animals in the area. This dog must have known all along that the perfect ending was within paw’s reach.
