Buttermilk the beagle is an escape artist! She recently found herself locked up at the Isle of Wight County Animal Shelter, but wasn’t about to let that stop her. Shelter staff caught her attempted escape on video, and it quickly went viral.
After this video was taken, shelter workers gave Buttermilk some TLC, and then found her a place in the quiet puppy room. There, she could relax with nothing to climb on.
Buttermilk the escape artist beagle
Buttermilk was most likely a hunting dog in her former life, kept kenneled, with plenty of time and opportunity to hone her climbing skills. The animal control officers and shelter staff work with all incoming strays to help them feel safe and comfortable.
