About: Growing up, my family always had dogs and cats. Today animals continue to be an important part of my life. I'm a board member of a local humane society and volunteer weekly at the shelter. I also help with low-cost spay/neuter clinics, where I've worked with cats and dogs of many ages, sizes, personalities, and comfort levels. I know every dog is different. Some want long walks and lots of playtime. Others prefer a slower pace and plenty of affection. About: My pet-sitting experiences include looking after both cats and dogs day to day and for extended periods of time. When taking care of cats, I make sure they have clean water and food at all times; keep their environment clean; watch over them and see if they are healthy; and interact with them by playing with them on a daily basis. I also have experience caring for dogs of various sizes and energy levels. Making sure their fed, walked, groomed, and cleaning up any messes/ their environment. In addition always making sure they have access to clean drinking water and providing plenty of playtime and attention. I occasionally take care of a family friend’s dog who has arthritis. I help keep her comfortable through gentle massages, giving her medication as directed, and hand-feeding her when necessary. In doing so, I learned to be patient and attentive in caring for an animal's individual needs. What sets me apart is my genuine love for animals. I always go the extra mile into taking good care of animals, ensuring their safety, and comfort in the absence of their owners. I treat every pet as if they were my own and doing everything I can to ensure their happiness. I am extremely flexible with regards to my schedule, and can be available for the most part of the day. I wake up early, so feeding and taking the animals for walk won't be a problem at all. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I value their safety, trust, and maintaining a calm and familiar environment for their pet. It is important for me to carefully follow all the instructions concerning their feeding schedule, treatment, taking medication, and other specific care. It goes without saying that I make sure that the pets receive proper meals and have clean water to drink. I also try to keep the house as clean as possible, including litter boxes for cats and any messes that may occur. I also observe the pets to ensure everything seems normal and they’re healthy. I believe that building trust with both pets and owners is essential, I’ll always provide them with updates and photographs about the current condition of the pets. My goal is to make sure their pet is cared for and mostly importantly happy.

About: I lived on a farm when I was a little one. Later, I was a trusted house sitter for relatives when they traveled (watching the home and taking care of 2 dogs and 2 cats). I owned my own cat for 15 years. I've taken care of farm animals but not on a regular basis. I'm competant with delivering meds and being really careful with senior pets and those needing special care. I'm one of those people who talk to pets like they are people. I can be there for the extra play and snuggles puppies need, but I think the initial potty training should be by their owner. I carefully listen to the owners and what their schedule is like. Then I morph my schedule to be very close to that so the routine is similar with me and their pet. I adhere to the pet owners instructions. I make myself available for the pet so we learn to trust each other. I show lots of affection, if the pet wants to receive it. If not, I can give them space.

You see my dog, Millie, doesn’t warm up to people easily and doesn’t always play nice with other dogs but Millie instantly liked both of them. About: I think something, I can proudly say is that I have people meet me once and trust me to watch their pets. I’ve had pets and I have taken care of friends and families pets since I was 12. Truly bonding with my pets was the highlight of my childhood, an experience that I know not every child is fortunate to have. I’ve seen my dog from puppyhood to his frosty senior days. The care is different of course, diets and lifestyle routine slow down and more careful attention is needed. Love is another key, all animals are deserving of being treated with respect and kindness.
