We had just moved to the area and didn’t know anyone, but she willingly took on the responsibility and made the whole process stress free. She was very patient and understanding with my dog Molly, who has been a bit anxious with all the recent changes. Communication was excellent, she sent frequent updates and photos, which gave me total peace of mind. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dependable and caring sitter. About: I’ve taken care of animals since I was 13! I am currently on a Pre-Vet track while attending UC Merced. I have experience handling both cats and dogs in a veterinary clinic setting. I’ve worked with plenty of shelters where I would ensure the animals were well fed, socialized, and was able to create a clean/safe environment for them to the best of my abilities. I have 2 golden retriever dogs back in my hometown that I personally trained and raised since they were puppies when I lived with my parents. I am a full time student at UC Merced, however my classes are pretty condensed so I have a good amount of free time each day and all my evenings are 100% free. When I am entrusted with your furry friend I will always be sure to make time for their walks and keep to their feeding schedule! Weekends would be my most availability as it’s the days I don’t have classes. My house has a fenced backyard, and my housemates do have dogs and cats of their own and they are friendly towards other animals! If needed I’ll limit their interaction as I do have my own space in the house which is where your pet would be staying!

About: I grew up on a ranch and I am familiar with providing care to a wide range of animals, with an assortment of needs, not excluding dogs of course. I am familiar with providing care to high energy dogs, puppies, mature dogs needing special care, and working dogs. In my life, I have seen over 5 beloved dogs through to their final chapters of life and I am confident in my ability to provide gentle, intuitive, nurturing care. I am excited to provide care for other local dogs’, and to cultivate a more social home environment for my friendly, playful dog. I am a passionate dog lover and I look forward to the day that I can open a non profit dog sanctuary down the road when I retire, but until then, this is my adventure. I have experience with in-house dog sitting, drop by walks, and dog sitting in my own home and I am happy to accommodate whatever works best for your companion in the moment. I can promise that your space will be respected, and all house rules will be honored if an in-home option is selected. If I accept your booking for my own home, just know that your dog will be the only guest I accept for that window of time. To ensure that I provide the best care, I only accept one dog at a time. Exceptions can be made if you are looking to book your two bonded doggos together at once :) I have one 4 year old male dog that is gentle and playful and will be glad for the company. I work full time from home, and travel for work occasionally (mostly in the summer). I will only accept bookings during weeks while I am working fully from home so that I can provide the best care. On my days working at home, I am able to take breaks freely, allowing me to go on walks and runs frequently. My house is situated along the forest line, and there is ample open space and trails accessible. I have a large fenced in deck that I leave the door open to during the day, for your dog and mine to enjoy the fresh air and to return inside the home unrestricted. The deck is within eyesight of my work desk. For exercise, I would be walking them on the trails behind my home.

About: I have been taking care of animals my entire life. I was raised around animals and treat them all like they are my own. I have experience with puppies, dog walking, and managing multiple dogs at one time. I currently work full time at a school but I like to take care of animals when I am free. I have a lot of time off and my weekend is open for any fur baby that needs me. I think trust is important when it comes to animals. Animals need to smell you first to get to know you. I always let an animal smell my hand and then I’ll ease into petting them once I can tell from body language if they want me to.

“Shannon did a great job sitting our two large dogs; highly recommend! She gave routine updates, pictures, and read my dogs info before we arrived. She has a nice dog proof house. Allowed the dogs on her couch and dog bed. She took them for routine walks around her large property. She was kind and trustworthy. We used her for one night of dog sitting while we hiked half dome. There are limited to no other options in the area and dogs aren’t allowed on any Yosemite hikes. We were lucky to get her!”
