“I can’t say enough good things about these folks. To start, they spent an hour with me and Benny (my pup) in advance of my trip and introduced us to their place. Benny loved the big backyard and I could tell he immediately felt at home. During my trip, I received daily videos of Benny playing with other dogs or being loved on, which made me feel good knowing I was so far away from home. Benny is such a good dog and I am grateful to have connected with people as equally good and loving. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.”

“Elizabeth and Phil were awesome pet hosts and took such good care of our two dogs. They were super communicative and sent pictures of their adventures on walks and at the dog park. Would highly recommend!!”

About: For me, pet sitting on Rover is so much more than a job—it is a true passion rooted in 30 years of dedicated animal care experience. Over the decades, I have had the absolute joy of looking after all kinds of pets, including dogs, cats and small animals. I know firsthand that every single pet is a cherished family member with their own unique personality and routine. Because of this lifelong background, I am incredibly adaptable; I know exactly how to keep up with a high-energy puppy, gently comfort a shy senior cat, or carefully manage specialized feeding schedules for your pets. I treat every animal in my care exactly how I would want my own pets to be treated: with endless patience, safety, and deep affection. Leaving a pet can be stressful for owners, so I always leverage my decades of experience to prioritize clear communication, reliability, and daily updates that give families complete peace of mind. I am fully confident in my ability to connect with and care for any type of pet, and I am dedicated to making sure both you and your companion feel completely safe, comfortable, and happy. I currently work as a handy-man so my hours are flexible enough to need your pets every needs from stopping by and playing multiple times a day to sitting with them all day and night. I also have an animal friend home with pleanty of play area and 1 acre of fenced in yard for them to play. My 3 dogs and 3 cats welcome any animal into the household with open paws. My gentle giant st. Bernard and German shepherd are rough enough to play tug of war with the biggest of dogs but gentle enough to cuddle and protect a 5lb teacup Yorkie.
“Ryo was fantastic with our Beagle, Maple. He was incredibly patient and kind and made our dog feel right at home. We would love to work with him again in the future!”

“Megan took great care of my dog and was great about sharing pictures and letting me know he was doing good while I was out of town. Sounded like he got along great with her dog as well. Definitely recommend her if you need someone to look after your dog.”

“We found Sean to be very caring, professional and wonderful man. He took excellent care of our Silver lab, Boone. He took time to let us be a part of him introducing Boone to the other dog who was staying with him. He sent us photos and sent us updates. We will definitely be using Sean again when we travel. ❤️”

“She was sweet and caring with seven , he enjoyed being with her . The homemade dog cookies was his favorite . I will definitely use her often going forward. Caroline is an awesome rover care for your pet! She loves them like her own..! 10/10 🫶🏽🥰”
“Grace was extremely professionally and came with the experience/background to give us peace of mind leaving our pupper to stay with her. She would respond promptly to any messages and would send photos/videos. She also has several other dogs and cats which worked to help better socialize our dog as well. All of these factors make it easy to recommend her to anyone, and we’ll definitely be using her again in the future!”

“Keith and family were wonderful for my Snickers! She loved playing with their dog and their hard. She made their home her home while I was away and I felt safe with her in their care. “I recently boarded my older GSD with Rachael while I was on an extened vacation out of the country. I have used her many times as a sitter and have had positive experiences. I knew I could count on her to take care of Tony and his medical needs. She sent pictures and notes regularly showing me how he was doing and getting along with the other dogs she keeps. He seemed happy and that allowed me to go on with my vacation without worry knowing he was in good hands. Thank You Rachael J. Murry”

“Sharon is absolutely amazing! My boy is a very anxious boy and has severe separation anxiety. Sharon had him so comfortable and settled almost immediately. I am so grateful to her for the care and love she gave Salem while I was out of the country for two weeks. Sharon provided me multiple daily updates complete with adorable videos of Salem. Her dog, Wes, was the perfect buddy for Salem too! Her fenced-in yard is fantastic for doggies to sniff and play in. I was so nervous to leave my boy for so long, but having Sharon as his sitter truly made all my worries disappear. She was also incredibly flexible and understanding when I had a flight delay. I cannot recommend Sharon (and Wesley!) enough!!”
“Our Goldendoodles were well taken care of and seemed to have a great time! Lots of pictures and updates so we always knew what was going on. Would definitely leave them here again!”

“Nissa took such wonderful care of our dogs! They had so much fun and I loved all the thoughtful updates while we were gone. I felt so much better knowing they were in great hands!”

“Crystal is amazing! She made my family and our furry kid feel comfortable. She will provide lots of photos and her communication is top tier. She is now our go to sitter for Charlie. Thank you Crystal!!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Blackiston Mill
Melissa and Andrew were great taking care of Tessa. They accepted the booking in short notice during a busy period. They made it easy to schedule a meet and greet before the booking, and the entire family seemed to love Tessa immediately. They had great communication before and during the sitting, and sent pictures of Tessa enjoying her time with them. When I picked Tessa up, she was in a great mood, and seemed to have had a great time there.

A couple of weeks ago, I had to leave town for two weeks due to work, and I had my sitter at the time cancel the day before I was set to leave town. I had never used Rover before, but I found Melissa and Jonathan on the app at the last minute and decided to give it a try. Despite the short notice, they immediately agreed to a meet-and-greet that same night before I had to leave. They were incredibly kind, welcoming, and understanding from the very beginning. Their space was spacious, comfortable, and perfect for my pet’s needs. Throughout the entire stay, they kept in touch with me on a daily basis by sending updates and pictures, and they were always quick to let me know if they had any concerns. I am very grateful that I was able to trust them with my pet, especially on such short notice and I would happily have them care for my pet again in the future. They are a hardworking, wonderful, and loving family, and I highly recommend them!

Mistica was wonderful with my dog, Pearl! She was kind, reliable, and very easy to communicate with throughout the entire stay. I felt comfortable knowing Pearl was in such good hands, and it was clear that Pearl had a great time with her. I would absolutely book with Mistica again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy pet sitter!

I would highly recommend Rachel to take care of your pet. My lab Maddie normally gets anxiety when she is around other dogs or people. Maddie felt right at home at Rachel’s house. I received photos everyday of Maddie and Rachel answered any question I had really quickly. Rachel does an amazing job and I would definitely book again.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Blackiston Mill home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Blackiston Mill.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Blackiston Mill sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
