“Tara did a fantastic job on a rather unusual assignment that I had for her, which involved not only taking care of my adult dog and puppy at my house for three nights, but also taking care of my cousin’s puppy, also at my house during the same time, who had never previously met my dogs. She also had her own dog with her, making it a dog party of four! Everybody had a great time, and Tara sent us photos multiple times a day of the dogs playing and hanging out together. About: I have taken care of dogs in various situations since high school. I love all good buddies, from Mini Dachshund to Akita. I am one of those fitness-crazed Bend people, and am happy to walk wherever your dog wants to go, whether it is 100 feet around the yard, or 40 miles off in the woods. And I am up for playtime. Anytime. I am available around the clock for potty breaks and play, and will accommodate reasonable special care requests. I prefer to walk with a leash at all times-other dogs are not always the most respectful, and I want to make sure everyone stays safe. I'd like to meet your doggos before your trip, so please schedule a meet and greet! I work remotely currently, and when working with your dogs I am there in person around the clock. While dog/house sitting I like to spend no more than 2 hours away at at a time, and I am available via phone or message 100% of the time you are gone. I would like to come over briefly before you leave. During this initial visit we'll talk about your house/security, and your dog(s) routines and care. Of course, the most important part of this is for me to meet and establish a trusting relationship with your dog. While you are gone, I am available around the clock via phone/video/messaging, and I am happy to send you updates whenever you want them.

About: Just moved to Sisters, OR 6 months ago. I grew up on a small farm and had animals everywhere! Newborn puppies to senior dogs were always in my life. We raised Labrador's, horses, cows and pigs and I loved every minute of it. Currently my husband and I have a 7 year black Labrador named Charlie and before him was Ellie, our chocolate Lab. With over 25 years of raising dogs and pet sitting for family and friends I am excited to continue pet sitting in central Oregon. Your fur babies will be well taken care of, lots of love, belly rubs and reassuring time spent while I care for them. I am a fitness instructor/trainer and love to take them on hikes, swims or just sit in a park to watch the sunset. I specialize in extra love for your senior pet as they can require more. Puppies are not a challenge for me as I can match the energy they need. I can't wait to meet your special baby soon! I work part time and can manage most dates to take care of your pup. My schedule stays up to date and will confirm any requests after you contact me. Your pup will be able to roam in our home and our fenced back yard. Our couch is their couch. The more the merrier at bedtime or if they sleep privately in a crate not problem. I live next to several open fields, parks and hiking trails to enjoy

“In short, Kate went Above and Beyond for us - and Rio! You Definitely cannot go wrong with her!! Two neighbors have already asked for her contact information, since they saw her walking our dog multiple times a day, every day while I was gone! (One neighbor even texted WHILE I was gone!) And they don’t even know the Whole Story!! For detailed perspective, Kate accepted our unconventional dog sitter need - which was caring for our 2 year old male Collie so I could go help my 95-year old mother pack for a move… However, the unconventional part was that my husband would be home! But, due to some medical issues, he couldn’t handle our dog’s care. When Kate met us, she suggested arriving the night before my departure. We agreed. When she arrived, she immediately began helping with Rio, who instantly loved her! By the time I left for the airport the next morning, everything and everyone, furry and human, were under control. Kate introduced Rio to early morning walks, instead of just being let out in our Invisibly-Fenced yard… he was Thrilled! She also carefully prepared Rio’s food, following a plan to transition him to a special kibble for food allergy challenges. She even got him to eat WITHOUT being hand-fed (long story!) - and sent photo evidence! Everything seemed to be going fine - UNTIL my husband failed to follow his medication instructions! After a scary night-on only the 2nd night I was gone!- my husband ended up in the hospital! Kate proved what a caring and compassionate person she is by her response to this crisis. Her texts, calls, and overall communication, helped me rally the family and to get my husband the help he needed! Additionally, once my husband got to the hospital, Kate stayed on to care for our dog, which allowed me to continue my trip - helping my elderly mother pack and prepare to move. Kate even made time to do a lot of extra things to help my return go smoothly - like cleaning, organizing, laundry, cooking and baking! After everything that happened, Kate even says that she’s willing to sit for us again!! Kate is a gem - an angel! - an amazing human! (Or any superlative of your choice!) and provided unparalleled love and stability to our dog - and our family - through a challenging time! About: I have been lucky enough to love and care for animal friends since I was born and started pet sitting for others in elementary school. So it's been a long time! I have experience with almost all species of animals from dogs and cats, to exotics like ferrets, rabbits, parrots and reptiles, to farm animals like horses, llamas, goats, sheep, chickens and ducks, and so much more! Over the years my journey has included working in dog and cat grooming, at boarding kennels and veterinary hospitals, horse stables and as a professional farrier as well as volunteering at shelters and rescues and caring for my own little zoo. Most recently before deciding to stay home to raise my kids, I had the wonderful experience of working in animal assisted psychotherapy as a professional counselor and helped people connect with their own animals, with mine, and with many amazing animal volunteers. Now as a homeschooling mom of two young kiddos, ages 4 & 6, Im looking to help out other pet owners, give back to our community and help my kids gain more experience, work ethic and skills. We come as a package deal, I am the primary animal caregiver and my kids will assist me. Being raised with our animal companions since birth, they have both grown to love and respect animals of all species and sizes, and are extremely calm and careful when around any animal. We personally know hard hard it can be to find a high quality pet sitter with the experience and knowledge needed for you to feel comfortable, and the sensitivity to help your animal companions feel at ease. I am experienced and comfortable with all levels of care, and all ages, including medications and special needs. We look forward to meeting you and your animal family members! I am currently a stay at home, homeschooling mom so my schedule is very flexible and open. We care for our own animals at home every day and have most of our days open and available. Given that we have a farm full of animals I am not currently bringing pets back to my home for safety reasons, however, I will happily care for your pets in your home in whatever way is needed and meet all of your specifications and more. We love going for walks and hikes and will happily take a kid friendly dog along with us, or whenever they normally like to go. As a pet parent myself I tend to leave sitters with about 8 pages of instructions and I am a stickler for details, so rest assured that I can and will follow all instructions, requests and preferences. About: I have had pets in my entire life, they are my family. Some of those pets have had health issues that have required injections, IV fluids daily, helping them to stand up and walk. Some were fosters that I loved on until the right person came along to adopt them into their family. It doesn't matter the pet, they will be treated with the same care and compassion I give to my own. I currently work a full-time job, Monday through Friday. I will be available if you need someone to stop in super early morning and/or early evening. If you need me to stay the night, so that someone is nearby, I can do that too. I'm available for a mid-day drop-in if it is on the weekend or you are in the Sisters area. I will follow your guidelines when it comes to caring for your pet in your home and do my best to go above and beyond. I would ask for clear communication on your pet's likes, dislikes, and preferences. If you have special or specific instructions please communicate that also. It is a priority to me that your pet is comfortable and safe while you are away.
