“I actually got recommended to Cheri through a friend! Truly the best in the business. I live in Waco and would drive hours to get to this woman, if I had to! I felt so beyond safe leaving my little bunny rabbit, Sefid, with her and am wary, typically, to allow anyone to watch her! She treated Sefid like her own so much so, that I was having a hard time getting her ready to leave! Thank you again, Cheri ? You’re stuck with me!”

“Jamelah was patient with us and our Belgium Sheppard. This was our first time using Rover with this pet. By the time we returned, she had our guard dog playing with her pet. We were thrilled. I appreciate her flexibility with each pet. She didnt require a crate, and allowed our dog to sleep on a rug by the bed. Exactly like she sleeps at home. We received pics and she responded right away to needy dog parents :). We will aways use Jamelah if she is available.”

About: I have been taking care of your pets for over 10 years. I have worked in everything from vet care to training so I have a unique look at the skills your pup needs to live a happy confident life. Our day starts at 6 am with a quick potty break before serving breakfast. From there we rotate playgroups and training throughout the day until 5 pm when dinner is served. Final potty breaks are typically around 8pm depending on the individual dogs needs. Puppies typically get a midnight potty break as needed. I have 2 large fenced in areas for monitored play groups. Dogs are never left unattended for any reason. Inside dogs are lounging with me or are in private kennels outfitted for their comfort and needs.

About: I don’t just pet‑sit — I love on your animals like they’re part of my own little pack. From belly rubs to long walks and cozy snuggles, your fur babies get all the care, attention, and heart they deserve. Brachycephalic breed experience and understanding; cataract post-surgery care/boarding offered as well. Kittens/Puppies/Elder/Special Needs Animals Morning: I start the day with your cat — breakfast, fresh water, gentle snuggles, and a little playtime to ease into the day. I check in on their mood, energy level, and any special needs so the rest of the day stays centered around them. Midday: I’m home for the most of the day, keeping your cat company, offering enrichment, supervising any outdoor time they enjoy, and maintaining their routine. If your cat is comfortable and settled, I may step out for essential errands, always making sure their needs are fully met before I leave and right when I return. Afternoon: More focused attention — play sessions, quiet companionship, grooming if they enjoy it, or simply being nearby so they feel safe and supported. Their comfort guides the pace of the day. Evening: Dinner, cozy wind‑down time, and extra affection. I stay home to ensure they feel secure, relaxed, and cared for as they settle in for the night. A day in my care is all about your cat — snuggles when they want closeness, playful moments to spark joy, supervised outdoor time for safe exploring, gentle walks or calming car rides if they enjoy them, and a routine built entirely around their needs. Whether they’re nursing, growing, aging, or require special attention, I make sure every moment feels comforting, enriching, and full of love.

About: I am a lifelong animal lover and experienced pet sitter who is new to Rover but not new to caring for dogs. I work from home, which allows me to provide plenty of attention, companionship, and supervision throughout the day. I also have experience administering medications and am comfortable following detailed feeding, medication, and care routines. My husband and I live on a farm with our 4-year-old female Standard Poodle, Maggie. She is friendly, well trained, and enjoys having other dogs around. Although our yard is not fenced, all dogs are closely supervised outdoors and taken on multiple leashed walks each day. Our property offers plenty of space for safe walks, exploring, and sniffing. I recently completed my PhD at Baylor University and bring responsibility, attention to detail, and reliability to everything I do. I understand how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet, and I will treat your dog like part of our family while keeping you updated throughout their stay. I have cared for pets for friends, family, and others since high school, with more regular pet-sitting experience in recent years. Please note that dogs staying in our home must be comfortable using stairs. I work from home most days, so pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I am available throughout the day for regular potty breaks, companionship, feeding, medication, and plenty of attention. I already follow a consistent routine with my Standard Poodle, Maggie, including multiple leashed walks each day. Because we live on a farm, visiting dogs also have plenty of opportunities to walk, explore, and sniff while remaining safely supervised. I live in a cozy studio apartment above the garage on our farm, so the indoor space is modest, but dogs have plenty of opportunities for supervised outdoor time, walks, and exploring around the property. I follow each pet’s usual feeding, walking, medication, and sleep routine as closely as possible. I also provide regular photos and updates so you can feel confident your pet is safe, comfortable, and well cared for.

About: As a former veterinary clinic employee, I've developed a deep understanding of canine behavior, health, and well-being. My extensive knowledge allows me to provide personalized care tailored to your pet's unique needs. With my three lovable dogs of my own, I'm a seasoned "fur parent" who understands the importance of creating a loving, safe, and stimulating environment. My home dog park, where dogs can socialize, exercise, and play off-leash, is a unique feature that sets me apart from other sitters. Here, your furry friend will enjoy the freedom of playing with friends while you're away, knowing they're in good hands. My passion for dogs, combined with my professional experience and facilities, make me the perfect sitter for your beloved companion. I understand the importance of flexibility and reliability when it comes to pet care. My schedule allows me to accommodate a range of pet care needs, from daily visits to overnight or multi-day stays. I can visit your furry friend during the day, ensuring they receive the attention, exercise, and companionship they need while also providing peace of mind knowing they’re in good hands. We are a family-based boarding home, so your pet will receive plenty of love and attention throughout their stay. My husband works from home, which allows for extra supervision and care during the day, and my daughter also has experience with pet care and pet sitting. Together, we create a safe, comfortable, and loving environment for every pet in our care. Whether you’re away for a few hours, a full day, or several days, I’ll make sure your pet receives the care, comfort, and companionship they deserve. My flexible schedule allows me to adjust to your unique needs so you can feel confident that your pet will be well cared for like part of the family. Welcome to my home, where your furry friend will receive the ultimate pampering experience! You're welcome to bring their own bed to sleep in, or they can choose from one of my beds. But it's not just about sleeping - my in-home dog park is the real showstopper! This spacious yard is designed for pets to run wild, play fetch, and make new friends. And for those who love water, they can splash around in my inground pool. The yard is fully fenced and secure, so you can rest assured that your pet will be safe and happy. My home is a haven for pets, and I'm confident that they'll feel right at home.

About: Growing up surrounded by animals, I was destined to pursue a career as a veterinary technician. Twenty years later, I've built a rich and varied experience, dividing my time between day and emergency practices. The day practices have given me a solid foundation in routine medical procedures, from drawing blood to conducting routine check-ups. In contrast, the emergency practices have taught me to think on my feet, remaining calm and focused in the face of urgency and uncertainty. Throughout my career, I've developed a special affinity for post-operative care, taking pride in helping animals recover from surgery and return to full health. I've also learned to recognize and address anxiety in animals, using a gentle and compassionate approach to alleviate their stress. Meanwhile, I've honed my technical skills, mastering the art of medication administration and injections with precision and care. Pursuing a PhD degree offers me the privilege of a highly flexible schedule. Unlike a traditional 9-to-5 job, my daily routine is not bound by specific hours. I can choose to work at times that suit me (and your fur babies) best. With a sprawling, fenced-in yard as their playground, my two energetic dogs are never short on adventure. As a fellow dog lover, I'm excited to offer pet care services that cater to your pet's individual needs. Whether you'd prefer me to care for your pet at my home, surrounded by my friendly dogs, or in the comfort of their own home, I'm happy to oblige. From crate-trained companions to free-spirited friends, I've got the experience and patience to make your pet feel at ease. My dogs, with their boundless energy and affectionate nature, are the perfect playmates for your furry friend. About: With over 20 years of experience caring for dogs, I bring more than just pet sitting—I bring genuine love, patience, and a deep understanding of canine behavior. Dogs in my care enjoy a safe, comfortable, home-like environment where they can relax, play, and feel like part of the family. I specialize in dog training and behavior and have experience raising puppies, caring for senior dogs, and working with trained service dogs. I understand that every dog has different needs, routines, personalities, and comfort levels. Your peace of mind matters too. I provide regular photo updates, check-in calls, and FaceTime when requested, so you can see your dog, stay connected, and feel confident they’re being well cared for while you’re away. My goal is simple: treat your dog like family and give you the peace of mind that they’re in good hands. As a retired Army veteran who works from home, pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I have the flexibility to give pets consistent attention throughout the day rather than leaving them alone for long periods. My routine includes regular potty breaks, walks, playtime, feeding, training, and plenty of companionship. I also make time to monitor each dog’s behavior and comfort level, especially with puppies, seniors, and dogs with specific routines or needs. Because I work from home, I’m able to provide a calm, home-like environment with frequent supervision and individualized care. I treat every dog in my home like family and make their safety, comfort, and happiness a priority. Safety, trust, and comfort are my top priorities. I provide a calm, clean, dog-friendly home environment where pets can feel comfortable and secure. Dogs receive plenty of supervision, attention, playtime, walks, and affection throughout the day rather than being left alone for extended periods. I follow each pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, medications when appropriate, exercise, training, and special care instructions. I’m especially comfortable caring for puppies, senior dogs, and dogs with specific behavioral or training needs. I also understand how important it is for owners to feel connected while they’re away. I provide regular photo updates and am happy to offer check-in calls or FaceTime so you can see how your pet is doing. Whether your pet stays in my home or I care for them in yours, my goal is to create a safe, respectful, and stress-free experience for both you and your pet.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.

Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.

During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Birome home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
  • Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Birome.

<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

You and your Birome sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
