About: While I'm new to Rover.com, I'm not new to taking care of dogs, both my own, friends', and dogs in rescues and shelters. I was the dog-walking coordinator for a dog rescue and a dog-walking volunteer for a public shelter for years. I actually grew up afraid of dogs and it was a big deal for me to start volunteering to walk strange dogs; it helped build my confidence, and I was -- and still am -- very attuned to what's going on with the creature at the other end of the leash. DOG SITTING AND BOARDING: I work from home as an editor, so your dog will get lots of attention and potty breaks. Your dog is welcome to join me on the couch or lie at my feet for regular pets, or chill in another room in or out of a crate. Whatever will make your dog feel most at ease while you're away. I recently lost my own 15-year-old dog, so your pup will be my sole focus (and will get lots of love and care). I have a fully fenced yard at my home for potty breaks (separate from walks/hikes). If you don't have a fully fenced yard at your home, it's no problem to take your dog for leashed potty walks as frequently as necessary.

About: I've been on Rover for over five years and I’ve been taking care of family and neighbor pets since I was little. My childhood pets have now passed on but I took care a of my dog with heart issues and learned CPR to take care of her. I’ve also volunteered at a couple animal shelters, so I’ve learned how to take care of pets with different types of issues. I currently work 4 days a week. I don’t have a set days that I work but I work in the mornings 7-10am and the evenings 5-10pm. So, there will be days where I would have to be away for up to 6 hours. Any of my free time, I would be hanging with your pet! :) I can’t have pets at my own house but I always make the pets feel very comfortable in their houses. I try to understand how they want to be loved, by cuddles or by a little bit of space. The pets are always my number 1 priority.

About: Grew up with a cat. Been watching and walking dogs since I was a kid. Would also love to offer hikes and runs for dogs too. I work from home and have a flexible schedule so can shoot of to walk or run or water or feed pets at a moments notice. I love to have dogs off leash when they are trust worthy. Otherwise on lead walks are a great way to keep pets safe. Also double checking locks when dropping them home

About: Hi! I have been caring for pets and their families for over eight years, giving pet parents peace of mind while their furry friends get plenty of love and attention. I care for pets right in the comfort of their own home, keeping their routines familiar and stress-free. From daily walks, feeding, and gentle grooming to giving medications when needed, I make sure every pet feels happy, safe, and cared for. I also take care of the little things at home—mail, plants, and tidying up—so you can relax knowing everything is in good hands! I recently moved to the Hood River/White Salmon area and I do have a full time job. I am more than willing to travel to you, and adapt to your schedule. Whether it’s a 30-60min walk, a quick check in, or overnight, I’m there! I don’t have a preference for time on my available days(Wednesday/Thursday), so I’m sure we can work something out! I also keep your pet’s home tidy and comfortable, just the way they like it, so they can relax and feel secure while you’re away. I’m here to keep tails wagging, paws happy, and everyone's hearts at ease. Feel free to message me with any questions—I’m happy to chat!

About: I’ve gotten to grow up around animals all my life, and have exposure with caring for a wide variety of different types. I have experience in training young dogs, and also experience in giving medical attention, like caring for wounds, dressing them and administering medications. I truly love animals, and I treat every pet like my own by always providing gentle care, attention, and a safe, loving environment while their owners are away. I’m currently working part time, so I have plenty of time to come and care for your pets! I work for about 5 hours on Saturdays and Sundays, which still leave me with lots of time to spend with your fur babies! I provide loving, reliable care by maintaining pets normal routines, including feeding times, fresh water, playtime, exercise, and cleaning up after them, while giving them plenty of attention and affection! I focus on creating a calm, safe environment where your pets feel comfortable, secure, and well cared for.

About: Growing up, my family always had cats, dogs, Guinea pigs, ferrets, fish, and more. Being around animals is nothing new to me and is a huge part of why I have a huge heart for animals now. I currently live in BZ Corner in a house with a fenced yard with my two cats, Archie and Oliver, and my golden retriever named Seager. Archie is 4 years old, Oliver is 6 years old, and Seager is a year old. I do work two part time jobs, but I am available most days in the afternoon. Just send me a message and I’ll let you know if I am available! I love all animals! My cats are my babies and I shower them with love. They have lots of toys and even have harnesses for me to take them on walks and two cat trees to climb on. Seager, the newest baby to the family, is my pride and joy. He is crazy but so loving. He gets to go on multiple walks a day and even gets to go down to the waterfront on the weekends. After a walk with your pet, I will make sure your pet has water and place them back where they were before I took them on our walk. I will of course make sure they get their energy out with toys, give them a ton of pets, and make sure they go potty on our walk as well. I do have a large yard, and it is newly fenced! I live far away from the main road and do not have many neighbors.

About: From the first veterinary and rescue clinic I worked with, I understood & appreciated my gift as a caretaker. I worked for a local shelter in my hometown, and grew fond of spending time with animals who needed extra love. The work pushed me to examine how we connect with animals. This compassion for taking care of animals expanded in college while I interned and spent time caring for penguins housed in the New England Aquarium. From Boston to Portland, I became a full time caretaker for animals and folks. I am a graduate of Suffolk University, and East West College of the Healing Arts. My knowledge of therapeutic massage and nurturing touch delivers unique care for all clients. These techniques are especially useful in calming the nervous system. You can rest assured, caring and consideration are my priorities with each individual and animal. About this sitter: Seeking seasonal work while building my private massage practice in town. A kind and intuitive person, who loves to be outdoors and care for all kinds of animals! I have reliable references and good standing with the people I've met along my journey. Let me know when you need someone to share love with your pet!

John was recommended to me and we were very happy. He came by for a meet and greet and our pups really liked him, John is also very friendly and polite. John really likes dogs and put in a lot of effort into the walks. Our old dog goes on a short walk and our young dog needs a long walk. Looking forward to having John come by again!

Katlyn took my dog for a long walk while I went to an appointment and she did a fantastic job. My dog had the biggest smile on his face when he returned! He is a very strong, hyper, and young Labrador male and he can be a handful at times! But she knew of good training tips and helped get his energy out for me. I would definitely recommend Katlyn as well as trust her to take my dog out on another adventure! It was a relief to know he was in good hands.
