Katie was great! She was responsive, friendly and knowledgable about cats. We felt comfortable leaving the care of our kitties in her hands for the weekend.

About: I have been caring for pets for my entire life. Knowing that your baby is as important to you as mine is to me, I will care for your furry friend as I would hope someone would care for my own baby. I’m looking to build my care community and availability so I will be able to help when needed. Currently Saturday and Sunday are fully available. Monday-Friday is mostly open with a few instances where I don’t have flexibility. I will care for your fluffy friends either at your home if that is your preference, or I can offer short term stays at my home. My preference is to keep animals where they are most comfortable.

About: Coming from rural Minnesota, I've been raising animals for as long as I can remember. I take pride in having the honor of caring for fur babies and treat every animal as my own. I work Monday through Friday from 9-5, so I’m available for pet care in the evenings and fully available on weekends. Whether it’s walks, playtime, or just keeping your pets company, I’m here to make sure they’re happy and comfortable while you're away! I have a large fenced backyard and 3 dogs of Mt own who love having new playmates. I live right on a trail that surrounds a nearby park so walking and exercise is a breeze!

Hailey did a great job. She always kept in contact with me each day and let me know that she could find the cats if I asked her. Let me know their food and water levels as well. Great job, thank you!

Jennifer went above & beyond! She’s very sweet & bubbly, also professional & kind. She adapted to all my crazy-cat-lady antics & took care of my cat so well! She even cleaned up after a surprise bird massacre…

Morgan will 110% be a repeat for me! If she'll have me! 😆 Not only did she take care of my pets special needs (insulin injections), but she went above and beyond to actually make a connection with my fuzzies... AND me! She sent me photos everyday, and even left me adorable tiny Polaroids of them!!🫠🫶 The kind of care she provided, took a HUGE load off my shoulders while being out of state. knowing my animals are happy, eating & safe..its the best. Thank you, again!

About: I have broad experience with all pets and am not afraid of messes and challenges. I’d love to care for your pets and help set your mind at ease about being away. I’m a Nurse and work Monday through Friday from 7:30-4:00pm. More than happy to be to your home before work and after work as needed! About: I’ve lived with pets my whole life, gaining years of hands-on experience with animals of all kinds. Volunteering at an animal shelter has allowed me to care for pets with a variety of needs, including special medical or behavioral requirements. I’m always ready for long adventures on trails with active pups or a quiet day at home with relaxed furry friends. My goal is to provide love, attention, and customized care to ensure your pet is happy, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away. I’m currently an online college student and work full time, but I can make accommodations. My online classes give me a flexible schedule, and I’m happy to work with you to find the best time to care for your pet. I’m dedicated to ensuring every pet gets the attention and care they need, no matter the schedule. Safety is my top priority when caring for pets. On Alaska’s trails, I take extra precautions to ensure pets are secure, safe from wildlife, and prepared for the weather. At home, I create a clean, hazard-free environment and am vigilant about managing allergies or specific sensitivities. I’m trained to handle emergencies, including performing the Heimlich maneuver on both cats and dogs, and I maintain a strong focus on personal safety while caring for animals. My goal is to provide a safe, secure, and enjoyable experience for every pet in my care.

Kaitlyn has been very good with our puppy, letting her outside to go to the bathroom and then play with her and reward for positive behavior (her experience as a dog trainer and vet tech is a bonus!) She updates us at each visit with pictures of our puppy and gives updates on how the drop in visits went. The only reason for 4/5 stars was because there was a scheduling issue where she forgot to cancel with us on a day she wasnt able to make it last minute and the puppy went longer than usual without a potty break (although ended being fine once we got home). However, she was very apologetic about her mistake, promised to not have it happen again, and offered a discount on some of the future visits to remedy her mistake. I appreciate that she took responsibility and sought to correct it the best she could. She has been faithful on all the other visits so far, responds quickly to messages, is polite and professional and I understand that mistakes can happen on occasion so I have continued to use her and would recommend her to others!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Big Lake. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
