Val is an absolutely incredible dog sitter and we are so lucky to have found her. She is very flexible and communicative with us on dates and times. And most importantly, she is so so amazing with our dog Wilson. He is so excited to go over there every time and she sends so many pictures and videos which are our favorite part! They do so many different activities and Wilson loves her son so much! Cannot rave enough, thank you and see you soon!!

Christy is absolutely wonderful! She goes above and beyond to make sure my senior dog is comfortable and well cared for. She’s very attentive to his bathroom needs, which is so important at his age, and her yard gives him a great space to safely sniff and explore. Her home is set up perfectly for dogs, with plenty of cozy beds and spots for him to relax. The fact that she’s always nearby really helps keep his anxiety low, which gives me so much peace of mind. She also has a sweet little dog who gets along great with others. it’s been such a bonus for my dog to have a companion during the day. Christy is also very flexible with drop-off and pick-up times, which makes scheduling so much easier. I especially appreciate the regular photo updates she sends. they always brighten my day and reassure me that my dog is happy and in great hands. I truly appreciate everything she does and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable pet sitter!

We had a great experience and highly recommend Adrienne as a sitter. She took the time to do a meet-and-greet beforehand, which helped us know this would be a good fit for everyone. During Norman’s stay, she was attentive, communicative, and sent daily updates with pictures and videos, giving us peace of mind while we were away. We also appreciated that the dogs had access to a nearby fenced-in dog park for exercise and play, as well as a separated areas in the house to relax when they needed a break from the excitement. It was clear that she genuinely cares about the dogs in her care, and we wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again.

About: Hi there! I’m a lifelong dog lover and have always had dogs as part of my life. While I’m new to Rover, caring for dogs just feels like second nature to me. I currently have two friendly, well-socialized dogs who love meeting new friends. We spend a lot of time at the dog park, so I’m very comfortable with different dog personalities, energy levels, and play styles. My goal is to give every pup a safe, loving, and relaxed home away from home where they can feel comfortable, cared for, and understood. I really enjoy getting to know each dog and letting their personality shine—whether that’s through play, cuddles, walks, or just hanging out. As a fellow dog parent, I know how important it is to feel at ease while you’re away. I’ll always keep you updated and make sure you feel connected to your pup while they’re in my care. I also bring a calm, patient energy to my care, shaped by my background as a yoga teacher, which helps me create a grounded and reassuring environment for animals. I can’t wait to meet you and your pup! 🐾 Pet care is already a central part of my daily routine. I have two dogs of my own, so my days naturally include feeding, walks, outdoor time, play, and plenty of attention and affection. Because caring for dogs is something I do every day, welcoming additional pets into my routine feels like a natural extension of my lifestyle. I am home the vast majority of the time and have a very flexible schedule. The only time I am regularly away is for one yoga class I teach on Tuesday evenings, during which my partner is home with the dogs. This allows me to provide frequent potty breaks, exercise, supervision, and companionship throughout the day. I provide calm, attentive care tailored to each pet’s needs and routine, whether in my home or a client’s home. In my home, dogs are supervised throughout the day and included in a relaxed home environment with regular potty breaks, walks, playtime, and rest. I have a fully fenced backyard for safe outdoor time, and I use separate feeding areas to help maintain a calm mealtime routine. I also have a dedicated room available for separation when needed and a crate for dogs who are crate-trained or prefer it. I am comfortable administering medications and following detailed care instructions. For drop-ins and walks in a client’s home, I focus on keeping the dog’s normal routine consistent—feeding, fresh water, potty breaks, walks, play, and companionship—while making sure they feel safe and comfortable. My goal is always to provide reliable, loving care and clear communication so pet parents feel confident and at ease while they’re away.

This is the first time I used Rover for dog sitting, and I absolutely hit the jackpot with Greg!!! I highly recommend him to anyone in the North Hills area of Pittsburgh for dog-related services. He is very friendly, caring, highly flexible, and trustworthy, and he maintained excellent communication/was highly responsive during the week that he watched my lab, Lily. Not a single concern crossed my radar leaving Lily with Greg for doggy day care. I knew she was in good hands and would be looked after well.

About: With over 20 years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all breeds, ages, and personalities, I provide a calm and structured environment where every animal feels secure and cared for. Your pet will be staying in our home's dedicated and separate room that has direct access to a half acre, surrounded by 6-foot privacy fencing, ideal for a safe play and exercise. I am a certified Yellow Dog Walker through Animal Friends and specialize in positive reinforcement, earning each dog’s trust through patience, consistency, and respect. Dogs from different households are introduced carefully and only if both owners approve. Every dog in my care follows a reliable routine built around their owner’s preferences. Feeding, playtime, cuddle breaks, and outdoor exercise are all kept on schedule, with regular potty breaks every few hours to maintain comfort and consistency. I am experienced in administering oral and topical medications, as well as muscular injections. In the rare event of an emergency, I act quickly and responsibly by providing first aid, contacting the owner immediately, and working with their veterinarian or PVSEC, which is 15 minutes away, if advanced care is needed. Boarding, overnight care, and in-home sitting are all available. Clients receive daily photo and video updates to stay connected and reassured. My family takes pride in maintaining a clean, attentive, and loving environment. Choosing our care means your pet is treated with the same responsibility, structure, and affection we give our own. Pet care is fully integrated into my daily routine, as I work from home full time boarding horses. I maintain a structured schedule that begins early in the morning with feeding, medication administration if needed, and outdoor time in the fenced yard. Throughout the day, I rotate between play sessions, walks, and quiet time to keep pets balanced and comfortable. Evening routines include another round of feeding, bathroom breaks, and wind-down time before bed. For boarding and overnight care, I remain on-site to ensure consistent supervision. I plan my workday and personal schedule around the animals’ needs so no pet is ever left waiting for attention or care. Every pet in my care is treated with the same level of safety and respect as my own. My home and facility are designed for secure, low-stress care, featuring a half-acre yard enclosed by a six-foot privacy fence where dogs can exercise freely under supervision. I never mix pets from different households unless both owners confirm compatibility. Feeding areas, bedding, and play equipment are cleaned and sanitized regularly. I monitor all pets closely for signs of stress, discomfort, or illness and respond immediately. In the rare event of an emergency, I apply first aid, contact the owner, and consult their veterinarian or PVSEC if advanced care is required. Trust is built through consistency, transparency, and communication, with daily photo or video updates provided to owners for peace of mind.

Barrett really was amazing. We booked him last minute (less than 2 hours before we needed him) so we could take in a Pirates game while passing thru Pittsburgh, and he was quite gracious. Our Tucker is nearly 15 and a bit of a nervous Nellie. Barrett took it all in stride. I highly recommend Barrett

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 672 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Ben Avon. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Ben Avon commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in PA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 672 sitters in Ben Avon, 87% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
