âHeather was fantastic with our two Doodle pups. One very energetic 2 yr old, and a senior who needed a special cooked diet. She cared for them both as they needed. Short walks for the old lady, longer ones for the youngster. She asked questions whenever unsure about something and kept me up to date with how they were both doing in our absence with texts and photos. Heather left the house exactly as found. I definitely highly recommend her.â

About: I want to start pet sitting because I genuinely love animals and enjoy caring for them as if they were my own. Pet sitting would allow me to help owners feel at ease knowing their pets are safe, happy, and well cared for while theyâre away. Iâm responsible, patient, and attentive to petsâ individual needs, whether thatâs feeding, walking, playtime, or companionship. This is something Iâm excited to begin, and Iâm committed to providing reliable and loving care to every pet I look after. Iâm working part time so I have plenty of time to hang out with your critters. I am open for overnight day on the weekends and weekdays except for Thursdays and Fridays before six. I have schedules to follow with all dogs and cat, etc. to ensure that they are happy and not having accidents in the house. I have worked with dogs my whole lives and needed to step out and help others.
âAmber is amazing. She was very attentive to my golden retriever, was very responsive whenever I reached out for updates and left house neat and tidy. Certainly hope she is available the next time a dog sitter is needed.â

âMichelle was amazing with our boys they love her!! Highly recommend! Overall an amazing experience I know Zeus and Comet will look forward to seeing Michelle in the future!â

âAshley was a perfect fit for us. She was able to come meet our stranger adverse dog before the stay. She was able to stay with our dog while we were away and kept us informed, with pictures. She was respectful of our space, our dog, and us. We look forward to using her again.â

âJordan was the perfect dog sitter. She updated us on how our dog was doing daily, took him on walks, and spent quality time with him. She even shoveled our driveway. We will definitely use here again in the future when the need comes.â

âPatty just finished a few day stay with our 'gang off littles'! Just delightful. Many thanks to her from us and our three Shih Tzus. Everybody had a good time and for sure shared some laughs. THANK YOU, thank you! Look for you next time. Penny, Dave and Sheila, Mickey and Carl.â

âAubrey took care of our sweet Morty for a few days. Morty has some health challenges, and Aubrey was confident administering all of his meds. She was communicative, and we really appreciate the care she provided to Morty.â

âKim is a great and trustworthy sitter and we would highly recommend her services! She was very understanding of our dog's schedule and I felt confident that he was in good hands with her.â

âSally did a wonderful job watching our dog and our house while we were away for the holidays this year. She was very accommodating, considerate and kind, and we would absolutely have her care for our pup again! She sent us pictures or videos every day and helped put our mind at ease. Highly recommend!!â

âIf I could leave a million stars I would!! Kara and her fam were absolutely incredible with Bubba and kept me updated as needed! I will be asking her back every time we leave!! Itâs special to find people you arenât concerned every second of the day hoping your pup is okay! The house was cleaner than we left it, so thank you SO MUCH Kara and family!â

About: Hey guys! I'm just a Midwest girl living in my Midwest world! I have the typical Veteran husband and one of our three kids still living at home! We have a 7 pound Chihuahua and two kittens who are the current rulers of the home. I bring a professional, hands-on background to every dog I care for, shaped by my experience supporting K9 work in the military and training dogs across a wide range of needs. From guiding young puppies through early obedience and socialization to reinforcing structure and confidence in adult dogs, I focus on calm, consistent, and respectful handling. My approach blends proven training principles with genuine affectionâclear communication, routine, and trust, paired with plenty of attention and care. On our private 20-acre property, dogs have the space to decompress, explore safely, and enjoy a peaceful environment while still receiving individualized guidance and close supervision. While we do have 20 acres that we can walk through we also have a fenced in area and GPS Fence collars for your dog to use. Depending on the training your dog has been through we can work with you to see what fits best. I am a full time mom who homeschools her kid. My husband is home part time so most of the time we are home if not pup will be crated. I have a fenced in yard and a pet safe GPS collar for the pups. So no matter what the pup will be secured. There is no gate to leave the fenced in area so to leave you have to go through the house.
About: With over 10 years of experience in dog walking, dog sitting, and house sitting, Iâve had the joy of building lasting relationships with pets and their people. Iâve worked with dogs of all ages and temperamentsâfrom energetic puppies to slow-moving seniors, rescues with trauma histories, high-anxiety pups, and velcro dogs who thrive with extra attention and reassurance. I also have hands-on experience with a wide variety of breeds, including Chihuahuas, Australian Cattle Dogs, Huskies, German Shepherds, Labradors, Pit Bulls, Dobermans, Rottweilers, and plenty of lovable mixed breeds. Whether your dog is small and shy, big and strong, or somewhere in between, I adapt my care to meet their individual needs, energy levels, and personalities. Since starting on Rover this summer, Iâve completed multiple house sitting and dog sitting gigs, both short and extended stays. This includes week-long stays for two different clientsâone with two dogs and another with oneâand several short-term boarding stays in my home earlier in the season. (Note: Iâm currently not offering boarding, but I do offer house sitting, dog walking, and drop-in care!) In the past, I spent six years caring for a clientâs dog while they traveled annually to Peru, staying in their home for about two weeks each year. During those visits, I handled daily walks, feeding, and plant care. Iâve also provided weekly dog walks for a client with two dogs, and many of my clients include plant care as part of my services while theyâre away. My clients appreciate that: đ Iâm self-employed and work from home, so I have a very flexible schedule and can offer more one-on-one time and consistent care. đž I donât have any pets of my own, so Iâm a great match for dogs who donât do well around other animals or need a calm, focused environment. đâ𦺠Iâm active and outdoorsy, so I love taking dogs on multiple daily walks, hikes, lake adventures, dog park trips, or whatever their favorite activities are. 𧸠I also love to spoil dogs with attention, treats (with permission), and pup cups! Iâm great at following your dogâs regular routine to help them feel safe and comfortable in your absence. I also offer regular photo updates so you can stay connected while you're away. Whether you need someone to keep your pup active during the day, provide loving in-home overnight care, or water your plants while caring for your dogâIâm here to provide reliable, personalized, and compassionate care. As a self-employed professional with a flexible, work-from-home schedule, Iâm able to dedicate plenty of time and attention to your pup. I make your petâs care a priorityâwhether that means sticking to a specific routine, accommodating special needs, or providing extra enrichment throughout the day. Iâm happy to work with you to create a personalized care plan that fits your dogâs unique personality and lifestyle. I also offer long-term and recurring services for clients looking for reliable, consistent support and peace of mind. When caring for petsâwhether in your home or mineâsafety is always my top priority. I carefully check the space for potential hazards, make sure doors and gates are secure, and keep anything dangerous out of reach. Your pet will always be in a safe, supervised, and comfortable environment. Trust is essential in building strong relationships with both pets and their people. I have years of hands-on experience, glowing reviews, and a long list of happy clients who regularly refer meâall of which reflect my dedication and consistency. I also pride myself on being a clear and responsive communicator, so youâll always be in the loop with regular updates, photos, and honest check-ins. When Iâm in your home, I treat it with the utmost care and respect. I follow your dogâs usual routine as closely as possibleâwhether that means walks, feedings, playtime, or quiet time in their favorite spot. I make sure they always have access to food, fresh water, and a cozy, clean place to rest. My goal is to keep your pet happy, relaxed, and feeling at homeâeven when you're not there.
âMaria was so sensitive and wonderful and aware of our animals needs! She took great care in making sure our English bulldog had everything he needed, all his medications and extra love and affection! She also took amazing care of our cat- she is truly the most perfectly well-rounded house and pet sitter, and had great communications with questions and updates all through her stay! If your pet is like your child, she is a perfect fit. We canât wait to book Maria again!â

FAQs for House Sitting - Bellaire
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 133 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Bellaire. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitterâs presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Bellaire walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your homeâs security or appliances.
Itâs helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Bellaire maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate theyâll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your petâs profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Bellaire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Roverâs commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justiceâs National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
