“Amber was reliable and responsible while watching our pup, Jenison. She was excellent house guest while staying in our home. We would not hesitate to use Amber again for future needs!”

“Heather is absolutely wonderful!! She is very caring. Izzy and Remi absolutely loved her. She has excellent communication skills, is very punctual and I swear my house was cleaner than I left it. I will definitely ask her to watch Izzy and Remi anytime I need to go away! She is very trustworthy. I highly recommend Heather to watch over your 4 legged family members. I loved the pictures, updates and videos as this was my first time leaving them.”

About: I want to start pet sitting because I genuinely love animals and enjoy caring for them as if they were my own. Pet sitting would allow me to help owners feel at ease knowing their pets are safe, happy, and well cared for while they’re away. I’m responsible, patient, and attentive to pets’ individual needs, whether that’s feeding, walking, playtime, or companionship. This is something I’m excited to begin, and I’m committed to providing reliable and loving care to every pet I look after. I’m working part time so I have plenty of time to hang out with your critters. I am open for overnight day on the weekends and weekdays except for Thursdays and Fridays before six. I have schedules to follow with all dogs and cat, etc. to ensure that they are happy and not having accidents in the house. I have worked with dogs my whole lives and needed to step out and help others.
“This is the second time Michelle has stayed with our two pups and we came home to two happy, well-cared for pets and a spotless home. It is very nice to have a dependable sitter and sets my mind at ease while away from home!”

“Lorretta stayed with our dog while we attended our daughter’s wedding out of town. It was so nice to know our dog was being well taken care of so that we could relax and enjoy the weekend. She sent several photos and updates throughout the weekend. The house was left very clean and our dog was happy - we wouldn’t hesitate to use her again.”

“Aubrey was fantastic caring for our two pups and watching the house. They were in very good hands and we were excited to have someone stay with them who shares the love of pets and people. Highly recommended.”
“Jordan was the perfect dog sitter. She updated us on how our dog was doing daily, took him on walks, and spent quality time with him. She even shoveled our driveway. We will definitely use here again in the future when the need comes.”

“Patty did a great job with our 5-month-old GSP. It was the first time we left him since bringing him home, and he was well loved while we were gone for five days. The first time they met (prior to her stay at our house), he took to her very easily and they became fast friends. And, we really appreciated the daily photos while we were gone!”

“Kim is a great and trustworthy sitter and we would highly recommend her services! She was very understanding of our dog's schedule and I felt confident that he was in good hands with her.”

“Ashley was a perfect fit for us. She was able to come meet our stranger adverse dog before the stay. She was able to stay with our dog while we were away and kept us informed, with pictures. She was respectful of our space, our dog, and us. We look forward to using her again.”

About: Hey guys! I'm just a Midwest girl living in my Midwest world! I have the typical Veteran husband and one of our three kids still living at home! We have a 7 pound Chihuahua and two kittens who are the current rulers of the home. I bring a professional, hands-on background to every dog I care for, shaped by my experience supporting K9 work in the military and training dogs across a wide range of needs. From guiding young puppies through early obedience and socialization to reinforcing structure and confidence in adult dogs, I focus on calm, consistent, and respectful handling. My approach blends proven training principles with genuine affection—clear communication, routine, and trust, paired with plenty of attention and care. On our private 20-acre property, dogs have the space to decompress, explore safely, and enjoy a peaceful environment while still receiving individualized guidance and close supervision. While we do have 20 acres that we can walk through we also have a fenced in area and GPS Fence collars for your dog to use. Depending on the training your dog has been through we can work with you to see what fits best. I am a full time mom who homeschools her kid. My husband is home part time so most of the time we are home if not pup will be crated. I have a fenced in yard and a pet safe GPS collar for the pups. So no matter what the pup will be secured. There is no gate to leave the fenced in area so to leave you have to go through the house.
About: Coming from a background of puppy breeders, I have more then enough knowledge in not just caring for pets but understanding them as well. I have a genuine love for all animals, and have grown up with dogs, cats, farm animals and everything in between. Animals adore my company and high energy and the time I take to ensure they’re safe, fed, comfortable and have had plenty of time for exercise. When it comes to animal care I am definitely the person pet owners would seek out! Pet care works into my schedule in many ways! Essentially I’m available any day or time as I own a snow removal company and am really only busy on the days it snows more then 3” which for me is typically one to two days a week (maybe). How I take care of my puppy, well my dog is served food twice a day about 2 cups of dog food. She is my buisness partner as I work alone, so she rides shot gun everywhere I go when plowing. We have an underground fence although she has been very well trained that she wouldn’t run off even without a collar. My dog can sit, bow, lay down, roll over and I’ve trained her to off leash walk. Everywhere I go I am complimented on how well minded she is. And as a black lab shepherd mix that’s impressive considering the level of engergy she has. In my clients home I will tend to my clients specific instructions as I know every owner to puppy relationship is defferent. I will care for their animal just as they would. And ensure a easy going, safe, and happy environment for the best sitting experience possible.
About: I have over 10 years of experience caring for both dogs and cats of all sizes, ages, and temperaments. I’ve helped neighbors, friends, and family with walking, feeding, bathing, and general pet care. I’m very patient, reliable, and attentive to each pet’s needs, and I genuinely love spending time with animals. Whether it’s an energetic dog or a more independent cat, I always make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for. I’m a student with a flexible summer schedule, so I’m able to give pets lots of attention and care. I’m available most days and can work around my class and work schedule, including mornings, afternoons, and evenings depending on the day. I’m happy to be flexible and communicate to find times that work best for you and your pet. I always prioritize your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine. I’m very attentive and make sure to follow all instructions closely, including feeding schedules, medications if needed, and any specific care preferences. I create a calm and safe environment and take the time to make sure each pet feels comfortable and secure, whether in your home or during walks.

“My pups can’t get enough of Regan and she loves them like her own. I always feel that my dogs and my home are completely safe and well cared for when Regan comes to stay. She’s the best!!”
“Amanda stayed with our 2 cats and our visually impaired senior dog while we visited our daughter for the day. Our pets were immediately comfortable with Amanda. She kept in touch with texts and pictures throughout the day and didn't hesitate to contact us if she had a question. We enjoyed her comments and photos of our babies and felt she really got their unique personalities. Her soft-spoken confidence and gentle manner gave us a worry free day and a caring, loving and fun day for our fur babies. We'll definitely ask for Amanda again!”
“Sally was amazing. She watched our extremely anxious dog while we got married up north. She sent updates and made me feel so much at ease. Couldn’t be more grateful!!”

About: With over 10 years of experience in dog walking, dog sitting, and house sitting, I’ve had the joy of building lasting relationships with pets and their people. I’ve worked with dogs of all ages and temperaments—from energetic puppies to slow-moving seniors, rescues with trauma histories, high-anxiety pups, and velcro dogs who thrive with extra attention and reassurance. I also have hands-on experience with a wide variety of breeds, including Chihuahuas, Australian Cattle Dogs, Huskies, German Shepherds, Labradors, Pit Bulls, Dobermans, Rottweilers, and plenty of lovable mixed breeds. Whether your dog is small and shy, big and strong, or somewhere in between, I adapt my care to meet their individual needs, energy levels, and personalities. Since starting on Rover this summer, I’ve completed multiple house sitting and dog sitting gigs, both short and extended stays. This includes week-long stays for two different clients—one with two dogs and another with one—and several short-term boarding stays in my home earlier in the season. (Note: I’m currently not offering boarding, but I do offer house sitting, dog walking, and drop-in care!) In the past, I spent six years caring for a client’s dog while they traveled annually to Peru, staying in their home for about two weeks each year. During those visits, I handled daily walks, feeding, and plant care. I’ve also provided weekly dog walks for a client with two dogs, and many of my clients include plant care as part of my services while they’re away. My clients appreciate that: 🕒 I’m self-employed and work from home, so I have a very flexible schedule and can offer more one-on-one time and consistent care. 🐾 I don’t have any pets of my own, so I’m a great match for dogs who don’t do well around other animals or need a calm, focused environment. 🐕🦺 I’m active and outdoorsy, so I love taking dogs on multiple daily walks, hikes, lake adventures, dog park trips, or whatever their favorite activities are. 🧸 I also love to spoil dogs with attention, treats (with permission), and pup cups! I’m great at following your dog’s regular routine to help them feel safe and comfortable in your absence. I also offer regular photo updates so you can stay connected while you're away. Whether you need someone to keep your pup active during the day, provide loving in-home overnight care, or water your plants while caring for your dog—I’m here to provide reliable, personalized, and compassionate care. As a self-employed professional with a flexible, work-from-home schedule, I’m able to dedicate plenty of time and attention to your pup. I make your pet’s care a priority—whether that means sticking to a specific routine, accommodating special needs, or providing extra enrichment throughout the day. I’m happy to work with you to create a personalized care plan that fits your dog’s unique personality and lifestyle. I also offer long-term and recurring services for clients looking for reliable, consistent support and peace of mind. When caring for pets—whether in your home or mine—safety is always my top priority. I carefully check the space for potential hazards, make sure doors and gates are secure, and keep anything dangerous out of reach. Your pet will always be in a safe, supervised, and comfortable environment. Trust is essential in building strong relationships with both pets and their people. I have years of hands-on experience, glowing reviews, and a long list of happy clients who regularly refer me—all of which reflect my dedication and consistency. I also pride myself on being a clear and responsive communicator, so you’ll always be in the loop with regular updates, photos, and honest check-ins. When I’m in your home, I treat it with the utmost care and respect. I follow your dog’s usual routine as closely as possible—whether that means walks, feedings, playtime, or quiet time in their favorite spot. I make sure they always have access to food, fresh water, and a cozy, clean place to rest. My goal is to keep your pet happy, relaxed, and feeling at home—even when you're not there.

“I recently hired Erin to watch my pups, and I couldn't be more pleased with the experience. Erin displayed incredible patience and understanding, quickly establishing trust with my pups. She kept a consistent routine, which really helped calm my one high-strung dog’s nerves. Communication was excellent; Erin provided regular updates and shared photos, making me feel at ease while I was away. She also went above and beyond by engaging in playtime and providing plenty of exercise, which made a noticeable difference in my dog's behavior. Overall, I highly recommend Erin for anyone needing a sitter, especially for dogs with high energy or anxiety. I will definitely be reaching out for future sitting needs!”

“If I could leave a million stars I would!! Kara and her fam were absolutely incredible with Bubba and kept me updated as needed! I will be asking her back every time we leave!! It’s special to find people you aren’t concerned every second of the day hoping your pup is okay! The house was cleaner than we left it, so thank you SO MUCH Kara and family!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 130 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Clam River. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Clam River walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Clam River maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Clam River choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
