“I am thrilled to share my experience with Xenia. From the very start, she has been absolutely wonderful. She took the time to come and meet my dog, ensuring that they both felt comfortable with each other before their first walk. Given the recent heat, Xenia was incredibly considerate and flexible, rescheduling our walks to the cooler mornings to ensure my dog’s safety and comfort. She not only took my dog for a walk but also spent extra time playing fetch, which my dog absolutely loved. Her genuine care and dedication to my dog's well-being have made a world of difference. I highly recommend Xenia to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog walker.”

About: I've had pets my entire life! I currently have dogs, cats, birds, and turtles. I foster homeless and lost pets that I find out in the streets, including hawks lol. I am very respectful with senior and disabled dogs. I am happy to give your pets medicine (if any), make homemade dog food if that's what you do, be alert when taking smaller dogs outside to pee, make sure pets don't sneak outside and ensure gates are locked to prevent run-aways. I love my pets and I will ensure to take care of your pets as I would with mine. I will make them feel comfortable, safe, loved while you are away, so don't worry! I will be happy to also send pictures and videos and hop on facetime, so you can chat with your babies! I work from home M-F, so I am able to step away from my work to tend to your pets needs whether that's taking them out for a walk, out to pee/poop, feed them, play and take any medication of theirs (if any). I will take care of your pets as I take care of mine. I will ensure they are always in my sight and not be distracted on my phone as much. One thing about me is that I like to be present and not scroll away on my phone as much while on the job. I am always alert to hear if any pets are not chewing on things they're not supposed to in case of a choking hazard. In the past with foster pets, I've had to clear airways for them when they were choking, so I'm not afraid to stick my hand in their mouths to remove the object/food. I will ensure gates and doors are locked to prevent runaways.

About: I’ve been around animals my entire life, and caring for them has always been a natural part of who I am. I’ve trained all of my dogs as an adult—everything from solid leash manners to responding confidently to hand signals. I also have experience supporting senior pets with special needs. One of the dogs I cared for had hip dysplasia, and I helped him stand, walk, and get to the restroom safely. On the days he couldn’t get up and had accidents while lying down, I made sure he was cleaned, comfortable, and treated with patience and dignity. My love isn’t just for dogs—I’ve always had a soft spot for cats too. Whether it’s training, daily care, or supporting an animal through their toughest moments, I show up with compassion and steady, reliable care. I don’t have a normal 9 to five job I’m gone for two weeks out of the month for work and home for two weeks during that two weeks. My schedule is completely clear, which allows me to focus on all the awesome animals. I always require a meet and greet to ensure a good fit for everyone. I never allow dogs off-leash in unsecured areasa and I am cautious with door-dashing and ensure pets are securely indoors. I provide photo/video updates with every visit and am quick to respond to messages. I live in a non-smoking household with a fully fenced 6-foot wooden fence. I live near a large quiet park, perfect for nervous pups. I have a quiet, separate room for pets that need a break, and no kids are present. I will treat your home with the same respect as my own and always lock up securely.

About: My family had puppy dog named Hazel who we had for about 3 years. I used to play fetch with her in the backyard when I’d come home from school when I was around 10. I’d help with baths, walking her, my mom taught me how bring her inside when I was home alone doing homework, she behaved great and protected me well. A few years later, she passed from choking while eating something that I think had a bone in it and that was the first experience of heartbreak/loss. A few years after that, I adopted my current pet cat on my birthday, Ace, who I love so much. I’ve always loved animals and give pets to dogs whenever I have permission to, my best friend has many dogs so when I go over her house, I get all the cuddles and get drooled on, which I’m used to at this point. I love watching dog training videos and educating myself as I get older so when I finally get a dog again, as an adult, I want to be prepared and educated on how to protect their health, feed them properly and keep them safe with proper nutrition, exercise and training. I would personally love to get myself a Doberman or German Shepherd (Like Hazel was). I often go to my aunts house who has multiple chunky french bulldogs and help her in anyway I can, I enjoy how sweet dogs are and would love to help do any training techniques you’d love your little doggo to be working on while you are away. I am also in the process of my goal of losing 100lbs! So this helps me get the exercise I need while doing something I’m passionate about! Weekday and Weekends for now, preferably during the Morning & Afternoons on Weekdays and anytime as long as there is a day notice beforehand so I can clear my schedule just for your pet. Not currently doing pet sitting or boarding at my own home, maybe I will be more likely to in the future but I’m not sure yet.
About: I’ve been caring for dogs for many years and truly enjoy spending time with them. I live in a house in Miami with a fenced yard, perfect for safe playtime and exercise. Pets in my care are treated like family — they get plenty of attention, walks, and affection. I’m home most of the day, so your dog will never be left alone for long. Whether it’s a playful puppy or a calm senior dog, I always make sure they feel comfortable, loved, and happy during their stay. I work from home most of the week, which allows me to give constant attention and care to your pets. I have plenty of time to play, walk, and make sure every dog feels safe and happy. I’m available for boarding during the week and weekends, with flexible hours for drop-off and pick-up. My home is a safe and loving environment with a fenced yard for outdoor play. Pets are always supervised, and I keep the space clean and comfortable. I can provide crate time if needed and ensure every dog gets the right balance of fun, rest, and affection. Your pup will feel at home from the moment they arrive!

About: Dogs aren’t just a job for me — they’re genuinely my passion. I spent 7 years as a dog hotel manager, caring for dogs of all breeds, sizes, and personalities every single day. I’ve worked with energetic puppies, sweet senior dogs, and dogs with disabilities who need extra patience and specialized care. I’m comfortable administering medications, following detailed feeding routines, and making sure each dog feels safe, understood, and loved. I take pride in reading body language, keeping dogs on a consistent routine, and giving them the right balance of structure, play, and affection. Your dog’s safety, comfort, and happiness will always be my top priority, and I’ll treat them like family. Plus, every dog gets a free bath after every stay! I currently own a mobile dog bathing business on the weekends, so I am only available Mon-Thurs, dogs are my life, and I travel anywhere in Victorville, Hesperia, Adelanto, and Apple Valley! With all of my experience at multiple dog hotels, I can safely say I have seen it all and feel extremely comfortable with all dog breeds, sizes, and personalities.
About: I’ve been around dogs my entire life and caring for them has always been something I truly enjoy. I was a dog mom to my Chihuahua, Thunder, for 16 wonderful years, raising her from a puppy through her senior years until it was time to say goodbye. Caring for her taught me patience, compassion, and how to support dogs through every stage of life. I also worked at PetSmart in Doggy Day Camp for about 10 months, where I supervised dogs of all sizes, monitored group play, recognized body language, and helped maintain a safe, positive environment. This experience gave me confidence handling a variety of temperaments and energy levels. I have experience caring for senior dogs and administering medication, as well as supporting dogs with vision loss, herniated discs, and canine cognitive dysfunction (doggy dementia). Whether your dog loves long walks, playtime, or simply wants company and affection, I always strive to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I treat every pet as if they were my own. My schedule is currently very flexible, allowing me to accommodate morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend visits. I enjoy spending quality time with dogs through walks, playtime, feeding, or simply keeping them company while you’re away. I always do my best to work with each pet parent’s schedule and provide dependable, consistent care. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I stay aware of my surroundings during walks and pay close attention to each dog’s body language and behavior. My experience working in PetSmart’s Doggy Day Camp taught me how to recognize signs of stress, fear, or reactivity in dogs, as well as how to avoid potentially unsafe situations. I also pay attention to other people and animals we may encounter to help ensure every walk is safe and enjoyable. During drop-in visits, I follow your pet’s routine, make sure they have fresh water, food if needed, and plenty of love and attention. I’m fully present during my visits and prioritize caring for your pet over distractions like my phone.
About: I’ve grown up around animals my whole life, including dogs, cats, rodents, and reptiles. Family and friends have always trusted me to walk, feed, and care for their pets, and I truly enjoy giving them the love and attention they deserve. Hey there! My name is Mariah. I’m currently a junior at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB), studying Cybersecurity. My schedule is generally open unless I have a booked sitting or walking, or my calendar shows that I’m unavailable. Please be sure to send me a message or request a couple of weeks in advance for bookings or meet-and-greets, as some months can get quite busy. Make sure to get your request in early! Thank you so much for your interest in me—I truly appreciate it! When caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home, I always focus on providing a safe, loving, and stress-free environment. I follow all instructions given by the owner closely, including feeding schedules, potty breaks, exercise needs, medications, and any special routines. I make sure pets get plenty of attention, playtime, and affection, while also respecting their comfort levels and personalities. During drop-in visits and house sitting, I ensure pets are fed on time, walked or let out for bathroom breaks, and given enrichment through play, mental stimulation, and companionship. I keep their living area clean by refreshing water, cleaning litter boxes or picking up waste, and maintaining a tidy space. I also provide regular updates with photos and messages so owners feel confident and at ease while they’re away. For walks, I prioritize safety by using secure leashes and harnesses, paying close attention to the environment, and adjusting the walk based on the pet’s energy level, age, and weather conditions. Above all, I treat every pet as if they were my own and aim to make their time with me feel fun, comfortable, and full of care.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
