“Happy Wednesday, thank you Marla ! She exceeded our expectations from start to finish in caring for our pets and following the process from feeding 3 cats and taking our dog out several times plus feeding him. She provided excellent communication throughout the 4 days , I would encourage anyone to hire Marla.”

“Abigail did a great job of caring for our furry four! They loved her and were very comfortable right away. We really enjoyed having her and hope to have her sit for us again! 😊”

“Allison was amazing!! She provided daily updates and photos of my pets and took great care of my house while I was away! I would recommend her to anyone and trust her to watch my pets again!”

About: I have been around animals all my life. Grew up on a farm & helped with the horses, chickens, cows, cats, dogs. Currently training a bernedoodle, Dunkin, for the Southern Wisconsin Therapy Dog Association. Dunkin will visit nursing homes, student centers with autistic and special ability facilities, some medical facilities based on needs. If you ask family & friends, they’ll tell you that I cannot pass any animal without affectionately acknowledging them. And only if the animal is willing, I will give lots of love. I genuinely enjoy animals far more than people. ;) I have taken multiple levels of dog training courses. I also enjoy riding the family horse, Apache, in my free time. I have a pretty flexible work schedule but I work most days 8-4:30, M-F I am available before work, after work, evenings until about 10-10:30pm and weekends. Or overnights if booked. In client’s homes, I would use whichever method they prefer. If they leash potty an animal, I will do that. If animal runs in fenced in yard, I will stand in yard & wait. If they have a special request for animal, I will discuss with client if I am capable of said request.
“Ian was an absolute life saver! After another person backed out less than 48 hours before my husband and I were scheduled to leave town for several days, Ian answered my last minute request, and saved the day! He came to meet us and our dog the same evening as the request, and immediately established a rapport with our dog. While we were gone, he kept us updated on how things were going, and was very responsive to requests. I would love to have Ian stay with our dog again, and would highly recommend him to anyone!”

“Wow what a great sitter!! Would highly recommend. Always gave updates, and told silly stuff the fur babies did. Picture and video updates were absolutely perfect and helped us ease our minds while we were gone. Gave great training tips for a head strong breed.”

“She is so great very laid back and easygoing. Our dogs love her especially our little guy. No worries when she is here. She is always available and dependable we always come home to a happy house and everything is just how we left it.”
“We just returned from a 2-week trip to the British Isles. Brandi stayed with Baxter, who we missed terribly. However, he was loved and cuddled and photographed frequently during our absence! We are grateful for her excellent care!”

About: I have had animals and cared for animals since I was young. On top of my personal animals, I have also dog and cat sat for family friends. I have also dealt with a diabetic cat and it’s shots. I am mostly just available on Fridays after 10:30 and on the weekends. I do sometimes have the availability for an afternoon (after 4) walk or drop in. I can care for your animals as you see fit in your home and follow your standards for your animals and home. If wanting some play time with another dog, I can also bring my own dog, who loves other dogs, for some play time.
About: I have taken care of many types of pets ever since I was 13, either my home pets, neighbor's cats and dogs, and even at the humane shelter during highschool. I am currently working part time and would love to meet and care for your furry family members, treating them as if they were my own. I am currently unavailable Saturday evenings or Sundays, but if I have the time, I will gladly give some to your furry companions. Currently, I can only board cats. My dogs are super friendly with cats and kittens of all sizes, since they were raised by one. My kittens also get along with other cats, but they have their own room they can play in if your cat doesn't get along well with others.

“Michelle filled-in last-minute when our booked sitter from Rover was unable to fulfill the booking. She was fabulous! She came in advance to meet our pups and to get acquainted, She was flexible with her schedule to accommodate us. Her husband even helped out to backfill for times Michelle had to work (because this was last-minute). She took great care of our pups: feeding, walking, sitting. She sent us pictures and notes daily to let us know how they were doing, and even stripped the bed and ran the dishwasher before she left! We highly recommend her.”

About: I have a passion for animals and the time to care for your fur baby! I especially love dog walking and doggy playtime, and can match your dog's energy!! I am currently unemployed, so I am very flexible with how I might fit pet care into my routine!! Weekdays work better for me, but I could swing weekends as well! I am able to come to your home and care for your pet in their usual environment. I will be respectful of a client's space, and will follow the routines the pet is typically used to.
About: I am the second oldest of 8 kids and I have taken care of pets and kids ever since I was little. I love cats and dogs and get along well with many breeds but prefer small dogs because of strength and we have a huge yard but it’s not fenced in. I am currently available 24/7 and just have small increments of time I would be gone for a doctors appointment occasionally so I can take the dog out often. We keep them well fed and hydrated and cuddle for cats and dog and for the dog we also let him out on the long chain or my son takes him from a walk because he is a larger breed.
About: Hello! My name is Gracie, a program coordinator living in the Stateline area. I'm looking for furry walking buddies to make some extra money in my free time. From growing up on my family's hobby farm and watching friend's pets, I have over 10 years of experience caring for dogs and other types of animals, both small and large. I have a wonderful cat named Whispy. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you're in need of animal care. I look forward to meeting you and your dog (or other fur babies). You're welcome to send me a message with any or all inquires. I'd love to get to know your dog or other pet more. In the meantime, have a wonderful day! I’m currently job hunting after graduation, so my current availability is very flexible to suit your schedule. I am willing to work around your schedule to meet your pet care needs. I usually spend my time accompanying the pets when I’m animal sitting for my clients. I can’t help myself but play with pets when they’re nearby, so expect lots of exercise and enrichment :)
About: With 10 years of hands-on experience caring for my own pets and those of family and friends, I have developed a deep understanding of various animal needs, from playful puppies to gentle seniors. Additionally, my experience caring for dogs, cats and various small animals gives me a unique perspective on the different ways animals express their needs. With three cats and a rat at home, I know firsthand how to create a nurturing environment that meets each pet’s individual requirements. My goal is to provide peace of mind to pet owners, knowing their furry family members are in capable and caring hands. Currently, I work part-time from 1 PM to 6 PM, Monday through Friday, which gives me ample time in the mornings to tend to the needs of pets. Whether it’s taking them for a long walk, feeding, or simply spending quality time with them, I can dedicate my mornings to ensuring they are happy and well-cared for. On weekends, my availability is completely open. This means I can cater to a variety of pet care needs, from extended walks to overnight sitting, ensuring that your furry friends receive the attention and love they deserve. When caring for pets in my clients' homes, I maintain their established routines to minimize stress and ensure consistency. I adhere to their feeding and walking schedules, take time to play and bond, and keep an eye on their behavior and health. I also ensure the home environment remains clean and secure, with plenty of fresh water and safe access to outdoor areas for bathroom breaks. Communication is key, so I keep clients updated with photos and messages, providing them with peace of mind while they’re away. Whether at my home or theirs, my focus is always on creating a nurturing and loving atmosphere for every pet in my care.
“Brooke was just fabulous with all my fur babies! She is patient, inquisitive, kind and caring. She was in very in tune with my all four of my fur babies’ needs, and was responsive to my questions both in person and via the phone/text. Brooke caught on quickly to all their little idiosyncrasies and took it all in stride. I have had a dog that is terrified of any type of rainstorms. She can tell that a storm is coming when it’s two hours away! So, she needs her meds, her thundershirt and she needs understanding when it comes to getting her in her safe space. She even stayed calm when my cat brought her a mouse. None of my fur babies appeared to miss me at all! She sent me daily updates, considered each pet’s individual needs, and took good care of my home. My home is not easy to manage, but she handled it very well. My family loved the stories I shared from Brooke while I was on vacation with. I would highly for anyone’s pet sitting needs.”

“I had such a fantastic first experience using Rover, thanks to our wonderful house sitter, Reggi! She was incredibly understanding and patient with our giant new puppy, who is full of energy. Her communication was excellent—she sent frequent updates and adorable photos of our two pups, making our day every time. We felt completely at ease knowing they were in her care. We’ll absolutely be booking Reggi again and highly recommend her to anyone seeking reliable and thoughtful pet care!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of September 2026, there are 291 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Belcrest. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Belcrest walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Belcrest maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Belcrest choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Belcrest. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
