“Elizabeth and her husband, Josh were excellent caretakers for our pup, Huxley. He was so well cared for and ready to nap from all the fun he had once he returned home. We will reach out to them again when we need care.”

“In our first visit, Sean was great with Opal. She got over her leash reactive response in just 5 minutes and had a wonderful time playing all night with two new friends. We look forward to lots more visits with Sean. Strongly recommend.”

“Daphne was wonderful! She took Lola as a last minute booking and we couldn't be happier! We received daily picture updates. Lola was treated like a little princess with lots of love! 🩷 Highly recommend Daphne!”

“Our Goldendoodles were well taken care of and seemed to have a great time! Lots of pictures and updates so we always knew what was going on. Would definitely leave them here again!”

“Jared and Waverly took excellent care of our puppy, Dutton. They sent us several pictures each day and even took him for a walk while we were gone. I definitely recommend Jared and Waverly to anyone who wants peace of mind that their dog is being cared for and loved properly. Thanks again Jared and Waverly!”

“Angela is the best of the best! Super easy to coordinate with, she took so many pictures of Yeti while I was out of town—it looked like he had an absolute blast. Cannot recommend Angela enough!”

“Kelly was great! Charlie said he loved staying there and playing with her dogs. She even had all his stuff ready and helped me carry it all out to the car when I picked him up. We will definitely use her again!”

“Patrick was great! Prompt communication and plenty of picture updates on Guthrie, who looked to be having the time of his life. I swear Guthrie was positively beaming when I picked him up! The afterglow remains several days after.”

“A couple of weeks ago, I had to leave town for two weeks due to work, and I had my sitter at the time cancel the day before I was set to leave town. I had never used Rover before, but I found Melissa and Jonathan on the app at the last minute and decided to give it a try. Despite the short notice, they immediately agreed to a meet-and-greet that same night before I had to leave. They were incredibly kind, welcoming, and understanding from the very beginning. Their space was spacious, comfortable, and perfect for my pet’s needs. Throughout the entire stay, they kept in touch with me on a daily basis by sending updates and pictures, and they were always quick to let me know if they had any concerns. I am very grateful that I was able to trust them with my pet, especially on such short notice and I would happily have them care for my pet again in the future. They are a hardworking, wonderful, and loving family, and I highly recommend them!”

“Sarah, Daniel and their beautiful children did a fantastic job at making our Smokey feel loved and cared for while we were away. They sent pictures daily and updates so I could see how he was doing. They even discovered a dual feature on the cat bed that we missed! 10/10 for sure. Whenever we go out of town I will be sending Smokey to them…that is if they are not already booked??”

About: I was raised in a home with pets. My mother was a dog trainer, show dog champion, and breeder so I have life-long pet experience. I have cared for hamsters, fish, dogs, cats, birds, horses, rabbits and turtles. I currently have a male mini-dachshund who sleeps with me and is my best buddy. I’m retired and available most days of the week or weekends. I am available for long-term stays or drop-in visits when you just need someone to provide a potty break or a mid-day walk. I know that when I need a dog sitter, I prefer someone to stay in my home that allows my little buddy to stay in his normal surroundings, so I get it and will do the same for you and yours. However, if you prefer I board your pet, I have a fenced yard and allow pets on furniture, unless you have trained your pet to not be allowed on furniture. My home is clean and non-smoking.
“Kaitlyn was wonderful. My 7 year old Wire Fox Terrier and her dog became buddies right away. My dog often has some separation anxiety when boarded and won't eat for a couple of days, but not this time. Kaitlyn obviously loves dogs and I highly recommend her.”

“So grateful that we found Michael to care for our pup! He was prompt with communication, sent sweet photos and updates while we were away, and kept our dog feeling happy while we were away. Definitely recommend!”

“She did an amazing job looking after our girl over 4th of July weekend. Couldn't recommend Jen enough. Will definitely be requesting her again in the future.”

“So this was my first time boarding my 20 months old golden retriever at Melody's place for 4 nights. I was very hesitant about the fact that I am not going to see him until I get back from my trip. The first day- when I dropped him and got back home I missed him very badly and ended up texting Melody. She was so quick to respond me back with multiple pictures of my baby playing in the backyard with other pups..phewww huge relief. Melody continued to send me atleast 1 picture a day and I must say she was very quick to respond me whenever I texted. My baby looked healthy and happy back home. :)”

“Stress free stay for my fur baby. I have a deaf pup who has some anxiety, especially with new people and animals. Oliver gave her lots of love and sent daily updates. I didn’t have to worry on my trip if she was in good hands!”

“Tina and her husband are great! I never had to worry about Tink while I was on vacation. She would send me pictures and updates on how he was doing. I highly recommend.”

“Rylee is amazing. Our plans with our original dog sitter fell through last minute for our week long vacation. She was a life saver. Ladybird had a healing broken nail. She there were a ton of instructions and Rylee handled it like a champ and made us feel very comfortable. Your dog will be well loved and cared for in her home. She will definitely become our go-to for any future trips.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Beechland Beach home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Beechland Beach.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Beechland Beach sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in KY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
