About: I grew up with many pets so I am no stranger to pet care. In recent years, I frequently pet sit for friends and family and would love to spend my free time keeping your pet company I work part time but currently have a flexible schedule. I am available weekends and weekdays. I’m often available, just need to schedule in advance. I can care for pets by following their normal routines, provide plenty of attention, engaging in their regular exercise, and help keep pets comfortable in their own homes and providing feedings.
“Jamie was phenomenal with our pets! She gave them great attention and I could really tell they opened up to her very quickly. Very detailed oriented and a great communicator.”

“Katherine took good care of our cats over the winter holidays! She informed us when we were low on a medication (which was our fault, sorry), and she made sure the cats were happy every day. We even left the cats a Christmas present, and she gave it to them!”

About: I have had animals all of my life and have cared for them immensely. My family and friends say I have a special way with animals. I worked at a dog daycare and boarding facility for almost 2 years and got lots of experience caring for dogs there as well as opportunities to sit outside of it which has become a huge part of my life. I have knowledge and experience on all sorts of problems that may arise in both cats and dogs including cpr. I am currently a full-time purdue student who takes most classes online so I have plenty of time to care for your fur baby! I love going on walks so you can guarantee your fur baby will get some long peaceful and smellful walks! So far I have done both in-home and in my home. I make sure to have a specific wake up sleep schedule so my animals and the ones I have watched have a routine and care. As I mentioned before I love walks… so walks are guaranteed! In the clients home I make sure to provide the same level of care and attention to the pet as I would my own or in my own home!
About: I've had dogs and cats growing up my entire life. I absolutely love animals and would love the opportunity to meet yours! We currently have our cat, Piper, and Boston Terrier, Pongo. Our complex also has a lot of walking pathes & with permission we love taking pets for longer walks around the area. We did recently move from Indiana to North Carolina, so please not we are now located in North Carolina for services. We live in a 3 bedroom townhome with a small fenced in front yard. We have plenty of sidewalks for walking & are just beside a larger dog park as well. My husband and I work together, so we are able to always be attentive to your pets needs.
“Kylie was wonderful. We had a few changes - one dog needed to be boarded at the vet and we left a day later than expected. She was great making sure we saw pics every day. Both Sadie and Kit loved her. We will definitely use her again!”

About: I provide dependable pet care services including drop-in visits, feeding, fresh water, walks, playtime, and administering medications if needed. I focus on keeping pets comfortable by maintaining their routines and giving them plenty of attention while you’re away. I’ve grown up caring for a wide variety of animals, including dogs, cats, chickens, sheep, cattle, rabbits, and turtles. With years of hands-on experience, I’m confident working with animals of all sizes and temperaments. My studies in Animal Sciences at Purdue University have also strengthened my understanding of animal behavior and care. I currently work part-time and have a flexible schedule, allowing me to spend quality time with each pet. I’m most available in the evenings and weekends, but I do my best to accommodate different needs. I’m committed to providing safe, reliable care and treating every pet like my own. Pet care fits easily into my routine, and I prioritize making time for each animal I care for. While I do have a few part-time jobs, my schedule is flexible and I am especially available during evenings. I’m able to adjust my availability as needed and can be reliable for consistent care, drop-ins, or overnight stays depending on your pet’s needs. I prioritize safety, consistency, and making pets feel comfortable in their own environment. In a client’s home, I follow all care instructions closely, including feeding schedules, exercise, and any specific routines your pet is used to. I check in on animals at a minimum of twice a day, and more frequently when needed, to ensure they are happy, healthy, and safe. I am attentive to each pet’s behavior and environment, making sure they have clean spaces, fresh water, and plenty of care and attention. My goal is to provide reliable, trustworthy care so you can feel confident your pet is in good hands while you’re away.

“(Written from the perspective of Margot, a female black lab.) Carrie was a nice lady. From the minute she first came by to meet me, she knew right where to scratch and rub. I can tell she really knows how to deal with us doggos. She fed me dinner (always so yummy!) and took me out on a walk -- which was probably all about looking for squirrels, but it gave me a chance to pee and do my business. I don't know why my human has to go away sometimes, but when he does, I hope I'll keep on getting visits from Carrie! I'll bet she'll take great care of me when I have to board overnight too!”
“Gabrielle was amazing! She communicated thoroughly and made sure our cat Mimi was in good hands. She sent great photos and asked us questions to make sure Mimi had as little change from her normal routine as possible.”

About: I have taken care of my own pets and other people’s pets my whole life (25+ years). I grew up with a rescue sheltie named Kali and watched my neighbor’s cats as a kid. After high school, I attended Purdue University to get my B.S. in Animal Science and gained experience working with animals of all varieties (small, large, wildlife, laboratory, exotics). I became passionate about animal medicine and decided I wanted to go to veterinary school. I got into the Purdue College of Veterinary Medicine after only three years of undergrad and have been studying there the last four years. Throughout my schooling, I have gained 8 years of training in various small animal clinics as well as the Purdue Small and Large Animal Hospitals. I am Fear Free Certified for dogs and cats and am comfortable working with any species of any size. I am able to provide quality medical care to any pet such as oral or injectable medications, subcutaneous fluids, monitoring heart rates, respiratory rates, mucous membranes, pulses, blood pressure, Libres, Holter-monitors, and other supportive care your pet may need. I have received extensive CPR training for dogs and cats and have worked with pets in any condition you can think of (geriatric, neonatal, critical condition, post-operatively, diabetics, Addison’s, hyper/hypothyroid, seizure dogs and cats, heart diseases, neurological disorders, non-ambulatory, etc.). You name it, I’ve probably seen it before! I currently have an adorable and loving beagle named Marshall who is a retired research dog. I also had a cat named Sylvie that I rescued in Ohio, but she passed away very recently. Let me know if you have any other species at your home that need attention! I love all pocket pets, birds, reptiles/amphibians, rabbits, and other exotic pets. I also love horses, pigs, llamas, alpacas, chickens, goats, cattle, sheep, and any other farm animal you might have on your property. I am currently a part-time student and have a flexible schedule. I can work with you to arrange what is best for you and your pet’s needs, and will ensure that my calendar is updated regularly with my availability. I will respect the safety and wishes of my clients in regards to caring for their pets in their households or while out on a walk. I believe that trust can be established by listening to a clients desires and goals and devoting myself to helping the client achieve them.
“Emily was available with only a day’s notice. She made sure my cat was fed and loved on for the week and a half I was away. Would recommend, and will absolutely be calling her next time I need pet care!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Battle Ground. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
