Katherine was able to book with us last minute due to a family emergency and was willing to meet the dogs within 24 hours of our booking. She handled our dogs well (they jump a lot with new people) and took tons of cute pictures. She offered to help with taking out our trash while we were out of town and had great overall communication with us. We would definitely rebook with her!

(Written from the perspective of Margot, a female black lab.) Carrie was a nice lady. From the minute she first came by to meet me, she knew right where to scratch and rub. I can tell she really knows how to deal with us doggos. She fed me dinner (always so yummy!) and took me out on a walk -- which was probably all about looking for squirrels, but it gave me a chance to pee and do my business. I don't know why my human has to go away sometimes, but when he does, I hope I'll keep on getting visits from Carrie! I'll bet she'll take great care of me when I have to board overnight too!

About: My name is Sydney M. I am a sweet and loving 25 year old girl. Born and raised in Lafayette, Indiana. I have 2 dogs of my own, I have had dogs my whole life! I love them! Love going on walks and playing with animals. I adore cats and dogs, mainly little dogs because big dogs frighten me a little bit... if they are well trained and don’t tug on the leash while walking, they are okay! Available anytime everyday, I have another job at platos closet, but I’m mostly free for the most part. I would love to walk them anytime it makes me happy:) I am very flexible! Contact my cell phone at any time. Thank you and I look forward to meeting!!!

About: I've had dogs and cats growing up my entire life. I absolutely love animals and would love the opportunity to meet yours! We currently have our cat, Piper, and Boston Terrier, Pongo. I work from home, so I would be home all day with your animals. I'm able to take breaks whenever for potty breaks, and we have a small, fenced in, front yard. Our complex also has a lot of walking pathes & with permission we love taking pets for longer walks around the area. We did recently move from Indiana to North Carolina, so please note we are now located in North Carolina for services. We live in a 3 bedroom townhome with a small fenced in front yard. We have plenty of sidewalks for walking & are just beside a larger dog park as well. My husband and I work together, so we are able to always be attentive to your pets needs.

About: Hi! I'm a Purdue student and experienced pet sitter with a lifelong love of animals. Having grown up with both dogs and cats, I'm comfortable caring for pets of all ages and personalities, from playful puppies and kittens to senior pets who need extra patience and attention. I've been caring for dogs and cats for over 10 years, beginning with pet sitting for neighbors and family friends at age 10. I also have experience caring for pets with medical needs, including administering care and monitoring pets with seizure disorders. I understand how important it is to have someone attentive, reliable, and calm when your pet requires extra support. During the summer, I maintain a flexible schedule and provide regular updates, photos, and communication so you can feel confident your pet is safe and well cared for while you're away. Whether your pet needs a walk, drop-in visit, or overnight care, my goal is to make them feel comfortable, loved, and cared for just like they would be at home. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. During the summer, I maintain a flexible schedule that allows me to provide dependable care, regular visits, and timely communication. I carefully manage my commitments to ensure pets receive the attention, exercise, feeding, and companionship they need. Whether your pet needs a quick drop-in, a long walk, or overnight care, I strive to maintain their normal routine and make their time away from you as stress-free as possible. Your pet's safety and comfort are my top priorities. I follow all care instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, medications, exercise routines, and household rules. I have experience caring for pets with medical needs, including seizure disorders, and understand the importance of attentiveness, punctuality, and clear communication. When caring for pets in a client's home, I treat both the pet and the home with respect. I make sure pets are secure, comfortable, and supervised appropriately, and I provide regular updates and photos so you always know how they're doing.

About: I have taken care of my own pets and other people’s pets my whole life (25+ years). I grew up with a rescue sheltie named Kali and watched my neighbor’s cats as a kid. After high school, I attended Purdue University to get my B.S. in Animal Science and gained experience working with animals of all varieties (small, large, wildlife, laboratory, exotics). I became passionate about animal medicine and decided I wanted to go to veterinary school. I got into the Purdue College of Veterinary Medicine after only three years of undergrad and have been studying there the last four years. Throughout my schooling, I have gained 8 years of training in various small animal clinics as well as the Purdue Small and Large Animal Hospitals. I am Fear Free Certified for dogs and cats and am comfortable working with any species of any size. I am able to provide quality medical care to any pet such as oral or injectable medications, subcutaneous fluids, monitoring heart rates, respiratory rates, mucous membranes, pulses, blood pressure, Libres, Holter-monitors, and other supportive care your pet may need. I have received extensive CPR training for dogs and cats and have worked with pets in any condition you can think of (geriatric, neonatal, critical condition, post-operatively, diabetics, Addison’s, hyper/hypothyroid, seizure dogs and cats, heart diseases, neurological disorders, non-ambulatory, etc.). You name it, I’ve probably seen it before! I currently have an adorable and loving beagle named Marshall who is a retired research dog. I also had a cat named Sylvie that I rescued in Ohio, but she passed away very recently. Let me know if you have any other species at your home that need attention! I love all pocket pets, birds, reptiles/amphibians, rabbits, and other exotic pets. I also love horses, pigs, llamas, alpacas, chickens, goats, cattle, sheep, and any other farm animal you might have on your property. I am currently a part-time student and have a flexible schedule. I can work with you to arrange what is best for you and your pet’s needs, and will ensure that my calendar is updated regularly with my availability. I will respect the safety and wishes of my clients in regards to caring for their pets in their households or while out on a walk. I believe that trust can be established by listening to a clients desires and goals and devoting myself to helping the client achieve them.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Battle Ground. On Rover:

  • 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
