About: My name is Gaia, and I walk dogs with my dad - Jimmy. I grew up my whole life surrounded by animals, and love caring for them big or small! I can train young pets (although I am not certified to) to do simple commands. I try my best to make your dog(s) feel safe and happy each time I see them. I take time to get to know each pet, whether they are shy, playful, or energetic 🥳 My goal is to make your pet feel safe, comfortable, and at home! I am 15 years old and a student. My schedule is somewhat flexible and I am available Monday-Thursday from 2pm-6pm. My rates can vary depending on how I need to care for your pet. I prefer to do drop in visits in YOUR house, I have a big dog that may not be friendly with other dogs 🙃 I’ve had dogs, cats, hamsters, and bearded dragons growing up. I am a volunteer at a wildlife rescue center and can care for any animal very well! I can feed, walk, or let your pet out for a quick break if needed.
“I recently had the pleasure of having Alexis visit my home to watch my two Goldendoodles, Chaka & Chip, who are both recovering from surgery, while I took care of some errands. Alexis was extremely kind and accommodating, fitting my dogs into her schedule on short notice, which was a lifesaver for me. My dogs are wary of strangers and are highly vocal about their concerns. Alexis handled both dogs with grace and calm energy. Despite the initial barking and jumping, she remained composed, which in turn helped my dogs settle down quickly. It was clear that her calm demeanor was something my dogs picked up on and responded to positively. Alexis arrived right on time. Her respect for my home and my pets was evident in all her actions. I'm already looking forward to using Alexis's services again. Not only is she fantastic with dogs, but she also has a beautiful personality. If you're looking for someone who combines professionalism with a genuine love for animals, Alexis is the person for you.”

“Jennifer was amazing with my pets! She was always quick to respond, sent regular updates and photos, and made me feel at ease while I was away. She was also very flexible and accommodating, which I really appreciated. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter!”

“Gilian is FANTASTIC! She had an instant rapport with all 3 of our kitties and she also was able to administer a pill to our cat Bruno easily. She has been awesome with communication and followed all our instructions perfectly. A+!”

“Shelby was great with our dogs and they warmed right up to her. She did everything we asked and even reached out to see if we wanted to modify our plan due to impending rain which was very thoughtful. We plan to book with her again and use her regularly!”

“We called Jen last minute for a family need. She was needed to watch our 2 big doggie girls for an extended period of time with a very varied drop in schedule. She sent pictures and videos with our girls providing detailed information, which put me at ease being away for so long. It was clear that our girls loved spending time with Jen. I would highly recommend using Jen for your pet care needs. Thank you Jen!”

“Alexandra is a wonderful pet sitter who took excellent care of our cats!! When we first met Alexandra we got an excellent first impression. She is very warm and friendly and was great with our pets! When we came home after vacation, our pets were relaxed and happy. She was easy to communicate with, leave detailed messages on the app everyday. Thank you so much!!”

About: I've volunteered at AWSOM Animal Shelter walking dogs & caring for cats. I've walked & taken care of dogs for friends and neighbors. Personally, I have 3 cats and a dog! I have a flexible schedule. I am available days & nights as well as on short notice. My Rover calendar is updated frequently, so booking availability is accurate! “Deb was the exact pet sitter we’ve been searching so long for. First, she was available on short notice when plans came up for us unexpectedly. She also had no problem doing a meet and greet within 24hrs notice. She was so sweet to Sam and clearly loved animals. She was happy to walk through all the quirks of the animals and was in no rush. So many sitters on Rover show up for five minutes, let our pup out, and tell us they are leaving (despite the fact that we pay for a 30min visit). I’d resigned myself to the fact that it’s just the way Rover is. Then we found Deb. She texted when she arrived for the visit and checked in on how Sam was and let him out the first time. She sent a few pictures on how he was (and even checked in on how our cat was even though he wasn’t on the docket for the day). Then much later she checked in again and took Sam out a second time. She used up all the 30mins and more. She shared how much she knew animals are social and value human connection. I’ve been searching far and wide for a sitter who understands that. Deb is that person. We will without a doubt be using Deb going forward. She is one of a kind.”

About: I’ve always had a love for dogs, and before I moved to America we owned two amazing high energetic dogs. I loved taking them on walks and letting them explore the environment. I will ensure your dog is having as much fun as I will on his/her walk. I like getting exercise through walking so your dog will be getting plenty of it. Your dogs safety is also a top priority to me at all times and I will ensure that whatever activities we’ll be engaging in, they'll be kept safe. I work full time but still have plenty of time in the day to play and love your pup, my husband is also usually home as well and will generally help with care I have a fenced in backyard that I like taking the dogs outside to if they don’t need a long walk while they stay. We can also play.
“Jennifer was absolutely amazing with our senior pup. I'm a worrier and she made me feel so comfortable, asking all the good questions, and provided pics during her pop in. Highly recommend.”

About: I’ve been around dogs and animals in general since a young age, with my grandpa running a small farm. I’ve grown up around breeds like German Shepherds, and have always taken care of friends’ dogs while they were in vacation. I learned a lot from my fiancé, who ran a successful dog walking business in New York City Give yourself peace of mind, your dog is in safe, loving, caring hands. I’m currently working from home with a special schedule which I take advantage of as it frees up a lot of time during the day. Pet care fits into it quite easily, as I have a daily routine I follow which includes dog walks, time with the dogs outside and of course feedings (and tending medicine when needed). I have a home situated on a quiet, secluded private lot that backs up onto a river with several trails within a short walking distance. The yard is secluded, well shaded and has ample space. I take care to be active with the dogs, so I usually toss frisbees or play fetch several times a day to keep them content. I walk my dogs twice around the neighborhood. Besides home, I have a number of dog-friendly trails and parks both in East Stroudsburg and nearby where I bring the dogs for some quality time outside. This includes hiking on trails and in the mountains, bringing the dogs to rivers or lakes, I mix it up each week depending on the weather conditions. Any time I go on an outdoor adventure, I make sure I have the owner’s consent. Their dogs will always be hydrated and have a snack. I only ask that if your dog has specific dietary needs or is taking medication, that you provide me with the necessary information and schedule. I have two modes of transport for dogs, both of which offer plenty of space, safety and comfort for the dogs while en route.
“Kimberly was awesome! She communicated with us everyday and always made sure to send several photos during her visits. It was a pleasure to work with her and we would absolutely work with her again.”

“Monica is punctual, patient with our dog, and always responsive during the drop-in. We've booked her regularly for a couple of years now. Highly recommend. Thank you, Monica!”

Madison is amazing with our two cats! There was a terrible storm while we were away and Madison made sure our two fur babies were well cared for and safe. She's great with communication and truly loves what she does. Our cats greeted her daily as well as a few strays around the house! Madison made sure our one cat took his meds everyday and sent pics daily as well! Thank you Madison, for everything you did for our furry family members, you helped us to relax on vacation knowing the "kids" were well cared for. Thank you so much!!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
