About: I love animals more than people! Been petsitting all my life. First to offer my friends and neighbors to be Auntie to their little muffins. I owned a petsitting and dog training business in Portland for many years... had to move and change jobs but I still love having as many furfriends as possible! “Barbara is experienced, intuitive, dependable and very caring. Our very picky cat responded well to her and she seemed to know exactly what he wanted or needed. She came twice a day at the times we agreed upon (even over the holidays) to feed him, give fresh water, change litter and take care of whatever else he was accustomed to. And to play with him, a lot! It was our first time leaving him with "strangers" , and of course we were nervous. But it all worked out very well and we were quite pleased with her. About: I grew up with dogs and recently lost my best friend, a corgi, Teddy. As a long time dog-owner, I understand how much anxiety goes into leaving your dog with someone else. About: I am a responsible and reliable person. I am very gentle, and caring with animals. My whole life I’ve always wanted to be a vet. I want to help & take care for animals in any way I can. My family has always owned animals. We owned cats, dogs, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, chickens, frogs, fish, turtles, a tortoise, an african grey parrot, parakeets and a bearded dragon. About: I have experience caring for multiple dogs at a time, including caring for three dogs in one household and two dogs in another. I was responsible for their daily care and making sure they were safe, fed, exercised, and comfortable. Managing several dogs at once taught me how to stay patient, attentive, and organized, even when they were energetic or had different personalities and needs. I genuinely enjoy being around dogs and would treat every pet in my care like they were my own. I only have a college class twice a week for only one hour of my day and I have a part-time job that is only certain days of the week. I also will make sure that if your dog likes to play fetch that I play fetch with them that when walking them, their leashes secure and their harness. I also will make sure your home is as clean as you left it or cleaner I can also strip the bedding and put new bedding on. Olivia was incredible! Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
