I am a veterinarian and have three dogs and a bearded dragon that all have medical issues that would be very overwhelming to most people. Emma was excellent with them and handled all their meds beautifully. She kept me updated with pictures and let me know how their days were going. She communicated so well and really put my helicopter mother heart at ease. I would absolutely recommend Emma to watch anyone’s babies, including elderly/special needs ones! She’s phenomenal and I wish I had found her sooner!!

About: I am a calm caregiver who is great with anxious dogs and rescue pups! I have 6 years of experience with senior dogs (large and small), medication administration, and special diets. I am currently self employed, making my our schedule. I am able to build my schedule around your pets’ needs, whether that is during the week day or weekend. When petting sitting at clients homes, I make sure to leave the house just as clean as when the client left. I believe it is important to treat others homes and animals with the respect and care of my personal home and pets.

We were Kady’s first client on Rover, but she did great! When we had our meet and greet prior to our trip, she got right down on the floor with our pup, and it was obvious she’s an animal lover. She communicated throughout her stay, sent pictures, and we returned home to a clean house and a happy baby. We will definitely use her again!

Rebecca was a great sitter. I felt comfortable with my choice right from the start when she came for a meet and greet with my dog. While she was here housesitting, she kept me informed of and made sure Lula got her meds despite her reluctance to eat (separation anxiety). I would definitely use Rebecca again.

Macy did an EXCEPTIONAL job from the very start! She has a wonderful, kind personally and is very easy to talk to. I could tell right away that she was going to be attentive to our pet's needs by her interactions with him and the questions she asked. She was punctual to the appointments and communicated to us via text on anything she felt may be good for us to know. I loved receiving the ext messages she went and the pictures of our pup while we were gone and knew he was in good hands. The day prior to the pet sit, she visited for a "meet and greet". That was so helpful, and important, because we were able to cover all the details in his profile, ensuring everything she needed to know was documented and that she could refer to it if needed. And in doing this, I realized I had left out some information that would of been good for her to have. So I was able to get his profile updated with this info before the actual first sit took place. There is no doubt in my mind we WILL be having Macy come again soon and she is now our #1 pet sitter! We are totally confident in her ability to watch over him and we know that she will care for him with the love and respect as if he were her own.

Chuck is fantastic with my two girls. I absolutely feel more at ease knowing my girls are safe and well taken care of. He has such a kind and caring demeaner. He sends pictures and comments to keep me updated.. He lets my girls sleep with him, which they love and follows the schedule they are accustomed too. Definitely keeping things as normal as possible for them to keep them happy. Our home is in fantastic condition when we return home as well. I'm very grateful for such a quality person to help us with the girls.

About: Ever since I was Itty bitty I have always adored animals. I was the kid bringing home strays every chance I got to make sure they found a loving home. In high-school I interned at a vet. This gave me knowledge and experience walking, feeding, administering medication, and understanding the behaviors of the animals around me. I am now an Army veteran and will be a full time student come the fall semester. This gives me plenty of time and flexibility to give your precious babies the highest quality care so you can feel confident and secure that all of their needs are being met while youre away. I have 1 dog and 5 cats of my own all with their own quirks, personalities, and detailed instructions I give to my own sitters when needed. Rest assured that there is not much your pets could need that I am not up for! I am moving from out of state and starting school in the fall, so during the summer I will have complete availability while settling into our new home! Due to having so many cats, I will not be offering boarding/sitting in my own home. However for house sitting, walking, and drop ins I am happy to follow any and all detailed instructions and will send plenty of photos for your peace of mind!

Megan sat with my fur babies for 7 days in my house while we were on vacation. She texted pictures and communicated through out the week. Having her take care of my dog and cat in their own home was a blessing and definitely helped with having less stress being away for so long. When I did get home, Roux and Salem looked healthy and happy.

About: I’ve always had dogs and cats, the occasional hamster, growing up. I love animals! I’m from the south and have come across all types of puppies (including gator pups) I have no problems in gaining new friends :) I am currently free lancing in artistic endeavors and having a friendly pet would help with the time I’m at home needing a little company and a less… talkative version than human conversation! I love animals and have experience with all types! (I’m from Louisiana so I mean ALL types) including the senior doggies ;) I have a closed in front patio with a little nature-esque ground for quick potty breaks and just to sunbathe when the need arises. I take walks often and live in a neighbor hood away from a busy strip so I can keep pets safe and exercised!

About: I believe I’m an excellent pet sitter because animals have been a huge part of my life from the very beginning. Growing up on a farm taught me responsibility, patience, and how to care for animals of all kinds. I’ve personally bottle fed kittens, puppies, and baby goats, giving me hands on experience with pets that need extra attention and care. I also attended veterinary classes through LSU’s agricultural program, where I learned valuable knowledge about animal health, behavior, and proper care. Whether your pet needs playtime, cuddles, medication, or just a comforting presence, I’ll treat them like they’re part of my own family. I currently work in Healthcare at North Oaks Hospital. I take care of my pet daily, as I would yours once we figure out which days i’m need to care for your baby! Creating a safe and comfortable environment for every pet is my top priority. I make sure pets always have access to fresh water, a clean space, and plenty of attention while following their normal routines as closely as possible. I carefully monitor their behavior, keep potentially harmful items out of reach, and ensure all doors, gates, and leashes are secure. By providing a calm, loving atmosphere and paying close attention to each pet’s individual needs, I help them feel safe, happy, and stress free while their owners are away.

From our initial meet and greet with Mason, her love for animals was immediately apparent, and our boys took a real liking to her. During our time away, she communicated often, and sent pictures of the pups in obvious bliss, allowing us to enjoy our very eventful weekend. Having just moved to the area, we feel lucky to have found her, and we plan on using her again soon!

She took amazing care of my pup, keeping me updated with photos. She went above and beyond, playing with my dog and ensuring she got plenty of potty breaks. What really stood out was how gentle and patient she was - my dog can be picky with new people and a biter, but she immediately took to Lexi.

FAQs for House Sitting - Baptist

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Baptist on Rover is $29.97 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 308 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Baptist. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Baptist walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Baptist maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Baptist choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Baptist. On Rover:

  • 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
