About: I have lived with dogs and cats throughout my life and have more than 30 years of experience caring for them. I currently care for several pets in my own home, so I understand that every animal has its own personality, routine, energy level, and individual needs. I carefully follow instructions for feeding, fresh water, bathroom breaks, litter box care, walks, playtime, and companionship. I take time to help each pet feel comfortable and keep their normal routine as consistent as possible. You can expect dependable care, clear communication, a detailed Rover Card, and several photos after every visit. I prefer to meet before the first recurring or extended booking so I can learn your pet’s routine, confirm access instructions, and understand exactly what they need. Pet care is already a natural part of my daily routine. I keep my Rover calendar current and only accept visits that fit my availability. This allows me to arrive within the agreed time window and give each pet attentive care without rushing. Before the first booking, I prefer to meet you and your pet, review the care routine, and confirm access instructions. During each visit, I follow your directions closely, check doors and gates, refresh food and water, and make sure your pet is safe and comfortable before I leave. I provide photos and a clear update after every visit.

About: Hi! My name is Kacey I have been dog sitting the last two years and recently started boarding within the last 8 months. I grew up with German shepherds and Rottweilers which helped me to be able to handle big dogs. When I’m not busy I like to volunteer at shelters and take one of their pups out even for a few hours and go on walks. In my professional life I am a CNA and I care for elderly people w/ dementia and some special needs children. I am about to start a dog training course and hopefully make that my career one day😊😊 My schedule is very flexible, since I do online classes I’m almost always home & my senior clients are 1-2 times a week. When I am not here my fiance will be here so your pup will always have someone to play with😊 In my home the dogs have their own bedroom connected to mine. It includes a queen sized bed, several dog beds and crates. I am constantly letting them outside since I have a 3 month old puppy and he needs potty breaks every couple of hours. Their days are filled with tons of walks, toys, treats and mostly cuddles 💕💕
“Rhett was just comically exhausted after 2 busy days with you. Clearly he is loving the attention and play! Appreciate the flexibility you offer to meet our schedules.”

“Rachel was amazing. I received so many pictures. My pup was well taken care of. I would recommend Rachel to anyone who wants a safe comfortable animal lover to care for their pets.”

“Rose met some new friends today. I think Rose is adapting on being away from home for the day. Sylvie always makes sure Rose gets pets, hugs and belly rubs. She must of had a busy day today sniffing everything. When I got home Rose ate her dinner and went to take a nap!”

“I was so happy to find someone that gave my pup all the love & attention!! Enzo looked so happy & I know he had a great time. Ana was great with communication & caring for my dog, we will definitely keep in her in mind for the future. Thank you again!!”

“Highly recommended! Desiree did a fantastic job watching our two dogs. Even though it was a gloomy, rainy day, she kept our pups happy and comfortable. Her place was very clean and well kept. She also sent pictures and a report. We will definitely book with Desiree again!”

“Diana and Brian were so nice and welcoming! True dog lovers! They sent us videos and pictures of my dog Kofi during his first stay with them to ensure me my dog was having a great time. I will leave my dog under their care again with no hesitation. Huge thank you, Diana and Brian!”

“Danielle was wonderful! She responded quickly to our very last-minute request for doggy day care for our 3-year-old Cavachon, Cooper. We are in Florida for a month with our large family and needed a safe, happy place for Cooper to spend the day while we were doing a day long activity. Danielle's ability to take care of Cooper at the last minute, and to keep in touch with us throughout the day with updates and pictures made our day! He had fun and returned to us at days end, happy and tired. Thank you, Danielle!”

“Estefania and Victor were wonderful with Violet! Lovely people with a calm and comfy home and a sweet dog. I really appreciated all their updates and will definitely use them again. Thank you for everything!”

About: We treat all breeds with love! Friends and family know we will take care of their dogs as our own and have always relied on us to care for them. My husband and I love dogs, so we have opened our home for boarding and daycare of all breeds under 100lbs. I have raised puppies until they were seniors, so I have experience with every age. I have given dogs oral, eye, and ear medications before. Working part time has allowed me the time to be home all day with the dogs. My husband comes home for the night and takes care for them while I go to work. We have a 6ft fenced yard and three friendly dogs to keep your fur baby company. All dogs are crated for the night and when we are not home for their safety. We only allow dogs free roam when we are home. We also supervise all play time outside and always watch everyone inside.
About: Hi! I’m Jillian, a dependable and attentive dog & cat lover (& any other 4 legged creature - shout out to gerbils) offering walks, drop-ins, and extended care. I understand how important it is to know your pet is safe and happy while you’re away, and I treat every dog and cat as if they were my own. I’m active and love long walks, playtime, and making sure dogs get the exercise and attention they need. I’m comfortable with dogs and cats of all sizes and always follow each pet’s routine and any special instructions closely. I also have personal experience caring for anxiety-prone dogs, as I have one of my own. Through that experience, I’ve learned successful strategies to help nervous or sensitive animals feel comfortable, safe, and calm in new situations. I’m patient, attentive to body language, and understand the importance of building trust with dogs and cats that need a little extra care. Whether your dog needs a midday walk while you’re at work or care while you travel, I provide reliable, caring service and regular updates so you always know how your pup (or cat) is doing. I look forward to meeting you and your furry friends! Pet care fits easily into my routine since I work part-time from home. I typically work from 8:30 AM to 1:30pm on weekdays, but I’m often able to accommodate walks or quick drop-ins during that time if needed. My afternoons, evenings, and weekends are flexible, so I have plenty of time to focus on giving dogs and cats the attention, exercise, and care they deserve. Since pets are often most comfortable in their own home, I focus on maintaining their normal routine as closely as possible. I carefully follow all instructions for feeding, walks, playtime, and any special preferences so your dog or cat feels relaxed and secure while you’re away. I’m very attentive to safety during walks and always keep dogs securely leashed and supervised. Because I have experience with an anxious dog of my own, I’m patient and sensitive to each dog’s personality and comfort level, helping them feel calm and comfortable in my care. I also treat every client’s home with the utmost respect and care. I’m mindful of keeping the space clean and secure, and I’m happy to help with small tasks while you’re away, such as bringing in mail, taking out the trash, or watering plants. You can also expect regular updates and photos so you always know how your pup is doing.
About: I’ve been taking care of pets since childhood. First it was cats, then dogs, and I’m now a proud owner of a Quaker parrot. I’m willing to walk or pet sit dogs, help pet sit cats at their own home, and the same with exotic birds. Someone is always home with the pet and we also help you dog get socialized with our parrot. When I had dogs, I let them sleep on the bed with us. I also let them sit on the furniture, too. And I do spoil them, also. I work full time in the afternoon shift but my boyfriend works mornings so there is always someone home. He loves animals, too! I do my best to work around my schedule. Our bird Kerry only goes in his cage when we are both out of the house and at bedtime. Otherwise, we let him out. Kerry is used to dogs. He likes to talk to dogs.
About: Pet adventure guide with a talent for river walks, snack negotiations, belly rubs, and earning the trust of even the sassiest cats. I’ll make sure your pets are happy, safe, loved, and absolutely spoiled while you’re away! I only care for one “pack” at a time, so your pets get my undivided attention and personalized care—whether they’re boarding with me or just stopping by for the day 💜 After a recent career shift, I’ve found myself with more flexibility in my schedule—and I’ve decided to dedicate that time to doing something I LOVE! I’m excited to see where this next adventure takes me. Safety First, Shenanigans Second! Your pet’s safety is my #1 priority. Since my yard is unfenced, outdoor time is always supervised. I use a 125-lb-rated ground lead or a long leash held securely in hand, and I prefer dogs to wear a harness while in my care. On walks, I’m always keeping an eye out for distractions, triggers, and all the critters. I use positive redirection when needed and follow your pet’s routine, cues, and preferences as closely as possible.
“Eloise was great! She has a nice fenced yard that our outdoor loving pup loved. Eloise is clearly a kind dog lover who appreciated our sweet girl. Eloise was flexible and understanding whem our plans inadvertently changed. I highly Recommend her !!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of September 2026, there are 407 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Ballou. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Ballou commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 407 sitters in Ballou, 89% respond to messages in under an hour.
You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
