First time using the Rover service and our first time away from our pet for such a long duration. Franki was an excellent communicator, went above and beyond spending her time with our dog in his own home so he would be comfortable, and we're so thankful for her! Great experience and our new go-to option if we need to travel!

Charity was incredible!! Very professional and caring. I have a very rambunctious 10 month old Newfoundland that she handled with patience and care. She regularly sent pictures and updates to me. I would recommend her 1000%. She put my mind at ease while I was away on vacation!!

About: Ever since I was around 5 or 6, I always remember being in a home with pets. Whether it was dogs, cats, reptiles, a potbellied pig, and even smaller animals. Older or very young, all of the animals I have had and cared for were very spoiled and given a life well deserved. I love every single animal and couldn't imagine a life without them. I believe that all animals deserve proper care, and a loving home. Any animal is loved as if they were my own. I am currently working at Kroger part time, three days a week. I am going to school full time as well. The days I work at Kroger are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday- 5 a.m.- 9 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays are the days I attend school and go all day. I plan on fitting in pet care after working at my job, and possibly weekends. I care for pets in my home or a client's home by greeting them and making sure they have everything they need. This includes making sure they are comfortable enough, with plenty of food and water. I also make sure they get taken outside or have access to use the bathroom often or whenever needed. Activities, such as playing, walks, or tricks is something I make sure to fit in as well.

About: I’ve taken care of family, friend’s, and neighbor’s dogs of all shapes and sizes! I absolutely love animals, and I’m willing to do whatever your furry friend needs. We have always had pets in our house, including one that needed long term care. If administering medication is what your pet needs, I’m more than familiar with it! I especially love big dogs, but like I said before…I love ALL animals, so please feel free to reach out if you have any questions! I’m available during the weekdays and most weekends, and I do want to add that I will be starting school at Butler in late August, so I will be relocating. I am able to do whatever your dog needs as long as it’s at your own home. We have two cats, and it wouldn’t be smart for me to bring them here. However, walking, feeding, light grooming, and cuddling are all services that I offer!

About: For as long as I can remember, I have always had an animal in my life. I got a puppy at a young age and cared for him up until the day he passed. Since becoming an adult, I adopted a kitten and continue to care for him. He is now 6 and the light of my life! I have an extremely flexible schedule! I currently work part time with a lot of availability. I’m available at almost any hour of the day. I currently have a cat but he has his own space if tensions were to rise. I have a mid sized unfenced yard, but I know of multiple dog parks. I’m available to cuddle up with animals or wear out some energy!

About: Hi! My name is Jadyn, and I've been caring for pets since I was 13 years old. What started as pet sitting for family friends has grown into several years of experience caring for dogs and cats of all ages, sizes, and personalities. I'm CPR certified for both dogs and cats through 2027, and my top priority is making sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and loved while you're away. Whether your pet enjoys walks, playing fetch, tug-of-war, or simply relaxing with plenty of attention and cuddles, I'll make sure they receive the care they deserve. I have experience administering oral medications and caring for minor injuries, such as cleaning and bandaging hot spots. While I don't currently have experience administering injections, I'm always willing to learn and expand my skills . I understand that trusting someone with your pets is a big decision. I strive to provide dependable, attentive care so you can have peace of mind while you're away. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family! I'm currently a student at Purdue Fort Wayne (PFW). My class schedule is relatively light, and I also work a very part-time job outside of Rover, so I have plenty of flexibility to provide reliable care. My calendar is kept up to date. I care for every pet as if they were my own. My goal is to make your pet feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you're away by maintaining their normal routine as closely as possible. Whether your pet loves cuddles, playtime, long walks, or simply having someone nearby, I'll make sure they receive the attention and care they deserve. I'll also keep you updated with photos and messages throughout my visits so you can have peace of mind while you're away.

It’s obvious they go above and beyond to make sure the pups feel loved and don’t miss us too much. We couldn’t ask for better caretakers, highly recommended!

Bree was simply fantastic! She met Rupert (our 3-year-old dog) before we went on our trip and spent some time playing with him. We all immediately felt very comfortable with her. While we were away, she sent so many pictures of him, and we could see that he was having a great time. I knew Rupert was in good hands. Thank you for all your help :) we’re lucky to have you!

About: I have had animals my entire life so I am very accustomed to taking care of pets. Our dog had seizures and had to take medication 2x/day. I know how important our animals are and what they mean to us. They are family. Having 3 pets of my own, animal care is in play 24 hours a day. Whether it's potty breaks, medications, or feeding time, I always make sure my animals are healthy and happy. Ensuring that they have food and water and a safe, warm place are of utmost importance. Providing love and affection because we are their whole world!

About: Howdy! My name’s Jordan, and I’m a dependable pet sitter who believes every dog deserves care that matches their personality. I’m comfortable working with dogs who take time to warm up just as much as those who are eager to make a new friend right away. I pay close attention to routines, body language, and comfort levels so pets feel at ease in their own space. While you’re away, I focus on keeping things familiar, calm, and positive so you can enjoy your time knowing your pet is in good hands. My schedule is flexible, which allows me to plan my time around the pets I’m caring for. I prioritize maintaining routines and being present during house-sitting stays so pets feel comfortable and settled. On weekends, I may step out briefly for personal commitments, but I always plan ahead and make sure pets are cared for and checked in on consistently. When caring for pets in a client’s home, my priority is helping them feel comfortable, safe, and relaxed in their familiar environment. I take the time to understand each pet’s personality and needs, whether that means giving them space to warm up or engaging with them through play and interaction. Many dogs benefit from extra activity, so I’m always happy to include playtime when it fits their energy level. This can be a game of fetch, light tug-of-war, or simply spending focused time with them. When playtime winds down, I’m just as happy to relax and offer cuddles to dogs who enjoy affection. No matter a pet’s energy level, I aim to keep their routine familiar and their time with me positive, calm, and stress-free.

About: I'm extremely patient with any dog. I always make sure they fell comfortable around me before I do anything! I am a strong walker! I also know how to make the most out of any time spent with a dog! Pet care is my number one priority for an animal I take care of! I will always make sure that the animal is the top priority when we go anywhere. I always put the dogs safety before my own. I will watch for other dogs and loose animals when we go on walks. When sitting in the past I let the parent know of the times I let the dog out or do anything with the animal. I will send many cute pictures for updates of what is going on!

VERY last minute booking and had fast response and availability to fit my needs. Was able to give my pupper a small walk and potty break while I was out of town. Received multiple pictures during the experience and while my dog seems a little skiddish around strangers, I saw her very happy in the photos in a very short time. A big thank you! Made my life and schedule alot easier today with your services.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Auburn stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Auburn. On Rover:

  • 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
