About: I've been a devoted pet owner for more than 20 years, and caring for animals has always been a meaningful part of my life. Dogs and cats have a way of trusting me, and I love taking the time to understand each pet's unique personality and needs. I know how important it is to leave your furry family members with someone who is attentive, dependable, and genuinely cares. Whether you're traveling, working long hours, or simply away from home, my goal is to provide the same love, patience, and thoughtful care I'd want for my own pets. I treat every animal as if they were my own, so you can enjoy peace of mind knowing they're safe, happy, and well cared for. As a self-employed therapist, I have the flexibility to create my own schedule, which allows pet care to fit naturally into my daily routine. I primarily work Tuesday through Saturday, with most of my appointments conducted via secure telehealth, so I can comfortably work from wherever I'm house sitting as long as there's a reliable Wi-Fi connection. My work is scheduled in advance and never prevents me from providing walks, potty breaks, playtime, feedings, medications, or the attention your pets deserve. I simply ask for about two weeks' notice whenever possible so I can coordinate my calendar and ensure my own pets are well cared for while I'm away. My husband stays home with our pets during house-sitting stays, allowing me to focus completely on caring for yours. My goal is to make sure your pets can maintain their normal routine and feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you're away. Your pet's safety, comfort, and routine will always be my top priorities. I take the time to learn each pet's personality, habits, feeding schedule, medications, exercise needs, and any special instructions so I can provide care that's consistent with what they're used to at home. Whether I'm stopping by for a walk, providing care while you're at work, or staying overnight, I'll treat both your pets and your home with the same respect and attention I give my own. I believe in building trust through dependable communication, gentle handling, and careful attention to detail, and I'm always happy to provide updates and photos while you're away. My goal is for you to return home to happy, relaxed pets and the peace of mind that comes from knowing they were genuinely cared for.
“This was my first experience with Rover and Amber made it super easy! I got all sorts of pictures from her and my pup got the love she needed while I was out of town! I’d highly recommend Amber for your dog sitting needs!”

About: Lifelong animal lover with a talent for river walks, snack negotiations, belly rubs, and earning the trust of even the sassiest cats. I’ll make sure your pets are happy, safe, loved, and just the right amount of spoiled while you’re away! I only care for one “pack” at a time, so your pets get my undivided attention and personalized care—whether they’re boarding with me or just stopping by for the day. Think of it as a little pet vacation, complete with VIP treatment 💜 After a recent career shift, I’ve found myself with more flexibility in my schedule—and I’ve decided to dedicate that time to doing something I LOVE! I’m excited to spend my days surrounded by wagging tails, happy purrs and plenty of personality. Safety First, Shenanigans Second! Your pet’s safety is my #1 priority. Since my yard is unfenced, outdoor time is always supervised—no solo backyard adventures on my watch. For extra security, I use a 125-lb-rated ground lead or a long leash held securely in hand, and I prefer dogs to wear a harness while in my care. Better safe than chasing a runaway squirrel down the street. On walks, I’m always keeping an eye out for distractions, triggers, and anything that might turn “nice stroll” into “OMG, WHAT IS THAT?!” I use positive redirection when needed and follow your pet’s routine, cues, and preferences as closely as possible.
About: Taking care of your animal will be my number one priority. I love animals, I will be more than attentive to their needs and accommodate anything you would like. I’m available any time you need me and I will take in any animal, big, small, furry, hairless, you name it! I love them all. I’ve had animals my whole life so I know how to take care of dogs, I’ve had cats now for 5 years and kittens and it’s a handful but it has taught me so many things needed to be a perfect sitter! I love getting pets toys, and fancy food sometimes to spoil them so expect that (if it’s fone with the owner) of course. I can’t wait to meet you and your lovely pet!

About: My experience comes from a lifelong love of animals. I cared for my childhood dog from the time I was young until he passed away at 15 years old. Throughout his life, I was responsible for feeding him, spending quality time with him, ensuring he was comfortable, and providing extra care as he became a senior dog. This experience taught me patience, responsibility, and the importance of understanding a pet's individual needs. I know that pets are family members, and I treat every animal with the same love, compassion, and attention that I gave my own dog. My goal is to make pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their owners are away. 🐾❤️ Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I work remotely from home Monday through Friday. This allows me to be available throughout the day for walks, feeding, potty breaks, playtime, and companionship. Since I'm home most of the time, I can provide pets with consistent attention, supervision, and care, helping them feel comfortable and safe while their owners are away. I provide a clean, safe, and calm environment where pets can feel comfortable and secure. I pay close attention during walks, playtime, and daily activities to ensure pets stay safe and happy. I also keep pet owners updated with messages and photos so they can have peace of mind while they are away. Having cared for my own dog throughout his life, including his senior years, I understand the importance of patience, reliability, and giving pets the love and attention they deserve.

Pet care fits in perfectly with my weekly routine. I have a flexible work schedule which allows me to be with the pet(s) anytime. I know some pets may require having more potty breaks and I am well equipped to handle that task! I care for pets by walking them, letting them outside to go to the bathroom, feeding them, playing with them. Some pets may require more attention than others and I am able to provide that to your pet!

I absolutely love spending time with animals and making it a priority that they feel special and loved! Your animals will love me! 🩷 *SCHEDULE CHANGE* I am now working Monday-Friday 8AM-4:30PM. He is spoiled with treats, many toys, and so much love! I will provide your animals the careful attention they require to meet your unique demands.

I treat every pet as if they were my own, making sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable at all times. I’m patient, dependable, and attentive to each pet’s unique personality and needs! Pet care fits well into my daily routine because I’m already used to caring for dogs on a daily basis. I plan my schedule around their needs, including feeding times, walks, playtime, and relaxation. About: What sets me apart is the level of personalized care and attention I give to every pet. Communication is key, so I always keep owners updated with photos and notes to give you peace of mind while you’re away. You can trust that your pet will be in a caring, responsible, and attentive environment. As a healthcare worker, I usually work three days a week, which gives me a very flexible schedule the rest of the week to focus on pet care. On my days off, I love spending time with animals—it’s honestly one of the best ways to unwind and bring joy into my routine. Whether it’s daily drop-ins or walks, I have the time, energy, and passion to give your pet the attention they deserve. My healthcare background also makes me dependable, calm under pressure, and very attentive to detail—especially when it comes to routines, medications, or special care needs. What sets me apart from other sitters is the level of genuine care and attention I give every pet. I understand that every dog has their own personality, needs, and routine—and I make it my priority to provide care that’s tailored to them. I have experience with dogs of all ages, from playful puppies who need consistency and structure to sweet senior dogs who need patience, gentleness, and extra love. I’m dependable, detail-oriented, and always keep pet parents in the loop with updates and photos. Whether your pup needs a walking buddy, cuddle partner, or someone to reinforce training, I’m here to make sure they feel safe, loved, and right at home.
About: Welcome to my profile! I have been a caretaker for over 18 years. I started as a nanny, fell into a house assistant, and have pet/house sat for numerous people both in Chicago and LA. Currently I run a small business working part-time as a home organizer and looking to supplement that income. I am a good communicator, responsible, and trustworthy. I will give your animals and house as much TLC as I can. I work part-time as a home organizer and I am looking to supplement that income with more active work that fulfills me. There's a chance I actually open up my own pet day care one day. Tend to their feeding and bathroom needs especially staying consistent with the schedule the pet parents provides. Since I work part-time I can be home with the animals longer to give them more TLC..
“Jenna was great ! I’ve never left the dogs so she assured me they would be fine! She sent pics and videos and checked in with me twice a day ! I came home and the girls were safe and she even got them toys! Which they loved! I highly recommend!”
“I appreciate Shawn and his care for my pups. Having an older dog makes me a little nervous while away however Shawn communicates if there are any concerns, anything I need to know.”

“We had Hannah stay for three nights and she did a wonderful job. I have French Bulldogs so I am very particular about their care Hannah provided updates and pictures that kept my mind at these. She was very responsible and took wonderful care of the house. Thank you again Hannah!”

About: I was always the go to person for pet sitting in my family. Growing up, we always had at least one dog in the house. And I was fortunate enough to have had one for 16 years. Her name was Bear. She was the best family dog anyone could ask for and I miss her very much. She is the reason I love taking care of animals so much. Recently, I have become very fond of cats and live with 2 of them. They have stolen my heart and take care of them every day. I also have two reptiles which are my whole world. No matter what animal, I would love to take care of them. I’m the sitter for you! I am in between jobs at the moment so my schedule is very flexible right now. I am very open and honest so I’m very willing to for the schedule that’s best for you and your pet! I am not offering services in my home. As much as I would love to, I rent and cannot have a lot of animals staying with me. I’m sorry for the inconvenience!

About: I'm 50 years old, and have mostly owned pit bull breed dogs, but I love all breeds. From 2010 to 2018, my APBT was trained as a therapy animal, we did hospital visits and library events with children. I taught him several tricks, such as left, right, speak, play dead. My current pit is a rescue and I am off leash training. Dog Walking: I work in the Kankakee area, so coming to walk your dog in Kankakee, Bradley, Bourbonnais, is NO problem! Either in the mornings (after 7am) and/or later in the evenings (8ish pm) it's all negotiable. I live in Iroquois county, so I have more availability to walk your dog if you are in that area. Pet Sitting: I can come to sit in your home, if that is preferred. I am also available to just come let them outside, spend time and play, feed, water, clean up. Boarding: I would love to open our home to your precious babies. Non smoking, fenced in yard, lots of walks in my small town. My dog friendly pup can't wait to play tag around the dining room table. All pets are welcome on the couches and have full access to the entire 1st floor, including the bed in the spare room. My husband and I work different shifts, so someone is usually always home. A maximum of 3 to 4 hours of an occasional overlap in shifts. I am able to crate your pet if preferred, or close off access to half of the living space. Before boarding, a few meet and greets are necessary. More details as we move forward. Cats: I will help with your cats, spending time, play, feed, clean litter boxes. I also have several years of experience with birds. I know how important socializing is to birds, and leaving them alone can cause problems and stress. Boarding of cats and birds can be discussed. As I'm nearing retirement from the Healthcare field, I would like to do more of what I love, which is caring for and spending time with animals. If I can do that for you, and ease your worry while you are away, it's a win for everyone! Reach out and let me help you today. As far as boarding your dog, my husband and I work different shifts, so someone is always home. A fully fenced back yard and good sniffer walks in my small town. Your dog is welcome on the couches and downstairs bed. Access to entire 1st floor. I can also crate if preferred. Baths and nail trims are no problem! I have a 60lb staffordshire terrier who loves all kids, people and dogs. It's playtime almost 24/7! Unless it's nap time and he's professional at that also!
About: I worked full time for a shelter and loved working with every animal there. Meeting them at their level so that their needs were completely fulfilled was my passion. Whether they were high or low energy, dim or bright, friendly or not, I thrived on figuring out what would make the the most adoptable and what would make them most comfortable in the harsh shelter environment. It was a difficult and demanding job at times especially when I needed to provide first aid or medication/therapy for ailing animals but I always enjoyed coming home knowing I did something that meant something to those parent-less pets. I also had the lovely opportunity to work the social media for the shelter and take photos and videos of each animal to best display their personalities to the wider public who wouldn't normally see them otherwise. I currently work part time with very flexible hours so I am frequently available to provide service to both my own pets and others. I find it very fulfilling to be able to make time for my own furry friends! Working in a shelter environment I often met many animals at their lowest when they were beyond scared and upset. I got exposure to many dogs and cats that were horribly unadapted to life around people and had personalities on either end of the spectrum. I am more than comfortable with animals that are more aggressive in both appearance and personality and was frequently tasked with retrieving abandoned or lost animals using the company van.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Aroma Park walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Aroma Park maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Aroma Park choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Aroma Park. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
