Pet care experience

Passionate Vet Assistant 🩷🐾

I've grown up caring for companion animals of many different species in my own household, and I have fostered a handful of dogs and cats as well. I've also been involved with TNR (Trap-Neuter/Spay-Release) which means I have experience handling feral cats. However, my professional animal experience started when I was 15. In 2018, I worked as a bather at a local grooming shop. After that I moved on to another bathing position at a different grooming shop in 2019. Towards the end of 2020 I joined the staff at a local animal hospital as a Kennel Technician where I currently work caring for the animals boarding. In May of 2022 I became the Patient Care Coordinator where I shadowed exams and populated medical records. As of February 2023 I am now working as both a Vet Assistant and Kennel Tech at the animal hospital. I've encountered many difficult behaviors and special needs over the years, and have been efficiently trained on how to handle them. Animal care is my life-long passion!

Safety, trust & environment

• The booking price is not always accurate initially. I will confirm pricing before accepting the booking request. I will accept the booking request after the Meet and Greet. It is of utmost importance to me to keep your furry companion comfortable and well stimulated when in my care. I'm able to provide frequent walks, playtime, cuddles, and anything else that they need during my stay! Positive reinforcement training is also an important aspect of my care and something I feel every animal and caregiver can benefit greatly from. Therefore, I avoid using any aversive stimuli when I'm with your animal. I'm also never opposed to performing minor grooming duties as well as simple chores around the house, just let me know. I always strive to leave a place better than I found it!

I'll benefit from knowing what language your companion best responds to as well as what treats they love the most. Please also let me know of any difficult behaviors you've noticed in them and I can communicate how I plan to deal with it if encountered. It's also always a bonus to know their favorite spot to be scratched! Part of my first aid certification has trained me to acquire emergency contact information from you as well. I'll prep for every client by researching the local emergency veterinary practice in your area and saving the number for easy access. I also ask that you share the name and number of your companion's regular veterinarian with me. With your first booking I'll double check that I have your number as well as your emergency contact's information saved in my phone. Rover's emergency hotline and ASPCA's animal poison control hotlines are also saved in my contacts at all times. Lastly, I'll always come equipped with my animal first aid kit.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
