“Makinzee was very easy to communicate with and was quite responsive with updates on how my dog was doing with photos. My dog had a lot of fun playing around with the kids in the house and the other dogs. He came back home better groomed as well. I would definitely trust Makinzee with Java again.”

“Feiran was amazing! We boarded our dog Bella at her house for 1 week. Bella had a great time with her new friends. Feiran sent me a lot of photos and videos of my dog during her stay along with how she was doing. Will definitely book another long stay again in the future :)”

“Theresa and Scott were absolutely amazing I would let them watch Colby anytime! They really treated Colby like one of their own and I know he made tons of new friends with all their pups!! They sent tons of pictures and videos! I would recommend anyone that needs animal care to get hold of them!!”

“Sarah was a great companion for my furbaby while I was away! She was very communicative throughout the duration of the boarding service, and I felt comfortable and at ease with having my dog in her care.”

“We cannot say enough good things about Meghan M. She is awesome! Ollie was very excited to see her and settled in quickly after we left!! Meghan is very personable! She sent us pics and a summary of their activities each day we were gone! Can’t wait to use her again!!🩵”

“Rae was really wonderful with my older (14) dog Nikki, who is wonderful but has some special needs. Rae kept me posted about how Nikki was doing (e.g., picking at her food) and also let me know that Nikki was drinking an unusual amount of water, which can be a sign of various health issues. I so appreciated how attentive she was to even small details. Rae was also very responsive when I sent my initial boarding request and during Nikki’s stay. I highly recommend Rae and she will be the first person I contact next time we need a sitter!”

“Rachel clearly loves animals, and did an excellent job of sending pictures and keeping us updated! Also, her cat Henry is so chill and friendly, and our Tessa had an excellent time with both of them. We'll definitely rebook with Rachel!”

“Aratrika was great! She gave us lots of updates throughout Moxie’s stay and followed all care instructions perfectly. We would definitely book with Aratrika again in the future!”

“I highly recommend Caitlins dog boarding service. Axel had a good time during his stay. Axel normally gets anxious in a new place and with new people but Caitlin made him feel at ease during his entire visit , which also made me enjoy my vacation because I am not worried about my little Axel’s well being. I appreciate all the pictures and the report that she gives you at the end of the day with all the details about how much he ate, how many times he went outside and the potty breaks. Caitlin, Thank you so much for taking care of my little baby…”

“Hannah was so responsive and flexible and incredibly understanding. She watched our fur baby with such care and our pup felt right at home. She was all drawn to her! I would love to book again in the future!!!!”

About: I have been around animals my entire life. I once had dreams of being a vet and spent two summers as an intern at a vet clinic, but learned quickly that that is not necessarily the career to choose just because you love animals, haha. That being said, I love both dogs and cats and have been a volunteer at animal shelters since 2017. I currently have a sweet but shy 6 year old cat named Rhiannon. I work remotely on weekdays, so I am home throughout the day for companionship and frequent potty breaks, if needed. I love to go on evening walks in my local park as well. I live in a single family home with an unfenced yard, but any bathroom breaks would be under my full watch and care. I have one sweet but shy cat, but she has her own room if your pet is not okay with other animals.
“Kellie was wonderful! She was thoughtful and asked all the right questions to make sure she could give my dog Jersey the best care possible. I'll definitely be looking to Kellie for my future pet-sitting needs!”

About: Hey everyone, my name is Aric. I am originally from Peoria, Illinois but live in Champaign, Illinois. I have had dogs and cats my entire life. We get along great. Currently, I have one dog and two cats of my own. I have extra space in my house and am able to keep Rover animals separate. Please read all of my profile and contact me before requesting a service. One important thing to know is that Rover adds additional booking fees to my rates. If you can pay directly via Cashapp, Venmo, or Zelle, my rates will be lower than what is listed. Or, if you prefer to still use Rover for payments, that is ok. Send me a message if you have any questions. Hola a todos, me llamo Aric (Eric con A) y muchas personas que hablan el español me llaman mi segundo nombre Enrike (Enrique con K). Soy de Peoria, Illinois y vivo en Champaign, Illinois. He tenido perros y gatos toda mi vida. I take great care of my animals every day. I am very good with structed routines for me and my animals. Currently, my dog and two cats live with me. I replenish their food and water twice each day and socialize with them every day. Drop-In Visits: I am very flexible and adaptable to most environments and most needs of my clients and their humans. My profile accurately reflects services and prices. However, there may be some potential flexibility in order to meet the needs of my clients. Please read my entire profile including the introduction area where I mention how Rover adds additional booking fees to my rates. Day Care and/or Boarding: All my animals are up-to-date on vaccines. My cats have had vaccines for rabies and FVRCP. My dog has had vaccines for rabies, canine influenza bivalent (H3N2 and H3N8), distemper, parvo, bordetella, leptospirosis, and lyme disease. While I do not expect you to have all of these for your animals too, I do prefer that your animals are vaccinated for at least rabies and distemper for both dogs and cats as well as bordetella for dogs. Vaccines are very important for the safety, health, and well-being of all of our animals. For similar reasons, for boarding and/or day care, you MUST provide your cage/crate for your animals.

“She did a very good job caring for my dog. He usually gets a little nervous being in unfamiliar settings which makes him not want to eat as much. She cared enough to still try to get him to eat something during his stay which I do appreciate. I would book again!”

“Katherine did an excellent job of taking care of my Winnie, a large, athletic dog who craves attention from people. Katherine kept her engaged, playing games with her and throwing the ball in the backyard. She clearly has a lot of experience with dogs. Winnie came home a very happy pup.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Armstrong home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Armstrong.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Armstrong sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
