“Somiya maintained wonderful communication with me during the visit! We had a new kitten that needed special care and monitoring and she did a such an amazing job! I would recommend her services to anyone I know!🥰”

“Andrew was wonderful with Lola. He gave detailed reports each time he visited and sent multiple pictures. She was very happy to see us when we got home, but she was in great hands with Andrew!!!”

“Absolutely amazing! I’m very happy with how well my animals were taken care of and how she went over and beyond to make sure that they were. I’ll definitely be rebooking her to watch my pets the next time!!”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs since I was a teenager and have experience with a wide variety of breeds and personalities. Currently, I have a 4-year-old German Shepherd/Lab mix and a 4-month-old Jack Russell Terrier. Over the years, I’ve owned and cared for German Shepherds, Beagles, Pit Bulls, Jack Russells, Labradors, and Schnauzers, and at one point had as many as six dogs. I’ve also owned a cat and have experience caring for cats as well. Friends frequently trust me to pet sit for them, and I genuinely love spending time with animals. Whether your pet is energetic, shy, playful, or needs a little extra patience, I’ll treat them like they’re my own. I also am a Volunteer Dog walker and caregiver at Columbia Animal Shelter. I have a very flexible schedule and am committed to providing reliable, attentive care while you’re away. I’m currently in the army and work 2-3 days a week.my husband stays at home full time. I have a very flexible schedule. I care for every pet as if they were my own. In my client’s home, I follow their pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, potty breaks, walks, playtime, medications (if needed), and plenty of attention and affection. I know how important consistency is for pets, especially when their owners are away. If caring for pets in my home, I provide a safe, clean, and supervised environment with regular potty breaks, exercise, playtime, fresh water, and lots of love. I pay close attention to each pet’s individual needs, personality, and comfort level to help them feel secure and happy.
“Hannah was so great with our dog!! She went above and beyond during her trips and always made sure to leave a detailed rundown of her time with our Luna. I genuinely looked forward to reading about every visit and am very happy with how they all turned out. I am looking forward to having her back if she is available in the future! We’ve been home two days and even now Luna looks to the door close to her scheduled times like she waiting for her to walk in and play🥲”

“Moe was an exceptional cat-sitter, and she dealt with a last-minute crisis with such ease and professionalism. Just before I left for my trip, my cat suffered a slight injury that required medication and rest. Moe gave my cat the medication and attention he needed to remain calm and, most importantly, get well. I highly recommend Moe for your pet setting needs.”

About: I've grown up taking care of cats and dogs. My professional pet sitting experience includes small and large dog breeds, as well as cats. I have a background in animal science and care so I am the ideal sitter for pets with high medical needs and elderly pets. I am willingly to take dogs on long walks or runs, and take them to the park. I am not certified, but I can do basic training (sit, stay, etc) and leash training. I currently work from home, so I am available at home 24/7. Great for pets that are potty training or need multiple play times a day. I abide with the rules and schedule of the owner. Not required, but I encourage a meet and greet for first time clients for care instructions and to ask any questions.
“Kayla is simply the best! She always gives the sweetest updates of our kitty while we are out of town and pays careful attention to detail. Came home to a happy cat home, and all of my plants alive!”

“Deb did an awesome job with our dogs! She is very friendly and attentive to the dogs. I loved all the pictures she took and the notes added. We will definitely be using her again! Can’t recommend her high enough!!”

“My husband and I were extremely pleased with the services Emily provided and will definitely be using her again when the need arises. During the meet-and-greet, both Bobo and Ellie, my cats, were reluctant to come out of their safe places, which is normal when they encounter new people. However, based on Emily’s photos and videos, they warmed up to her on the first drop-in visit. Emily was always punctual and spent the entire remaining time playing with Bobo and Ellie after feeding and litter box duty. The videos show they both absolutely adored Emily and soaked in the attention they received from her. Emily gave twice daily summaries about feedings, litter box patrol, and playtime. She also accompanied the summaries with pictures and videos of Bobo and Ellie to reassure me they were just fine. Emily is definitely an asset to the Rover company! Her obvious love of animals, along with her ability to follow instructions, and her sweet, bubbly personality make her the best choice to take care of our fur babies! Thanks, Emily! You’re a gem!”

“Samantha did a great job taking care of our pups! She communicated and let us know how they were doing and we loved getting her pictures of them. We would definitely reach out to Samantha again!”

“Dominic is very reliable and took care of our pet as if it was her very own. We really appreciate you for taking care of Bella while we were away and look forward to booking with you again very soon.”

“Ellie was great! My cat is pretty shy but he seemed to warm up to her really quick! She sent me a lot of photos of him in her updates which I loved. I would definitely recommend Ellie!”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
