“Walter and his family were great hosts and caretakers for our dog. They made us feel super comfortable by sending updates and pictures while we were away. We have already asked them to take care of our dog again because of the wonderful care they provided!”

“Buck had another great stay with Katherine. He played with puppies and she helped him learn how to play as an older dog without getting over enthusiastic. She always sends videos and pictures which I love.”

“I cannot thank Michelle and her family enough for watching Bella multiple times! Michelle is great with sending pictures, and keeping me updated as to how she is doing, Of course Bella loves to cuddle with the entire family as well. I would give more than 5 stars if I could!”

“Could not have asked for a better experience. I could tell my dog was well loved and cared for. Tara has great communication and provided daily pictures and updates. We will definitely use her time and time again.”

“Tetiana and her family does so well with our little buddy Milo it’s like he’s family to them. We really appreciate the attention to details and TLC she provides to him and the peace of mind she gives us while we are away!”

“We are so grateful to Elisa, Jim, and their son for taking such wonderful care of our pup while we were away for over two weeks. Since he was only 4 months old, we were extremely anxious about leaving him at such a young age. However, Elisa’s daily photos, updates, and sweet messages quickly put our minds at ease and allowed us to fully enjoy our trip. They showered our pup with love, treated him like family, and ensured he was happy and well cared for every day. They are kind, reliable, trustworthy, and excellent communicators. We highly recommend them to any pet parent!”

“Abby has watched our dog Rocky several times and has always done a wonderful job! Rocky is a rescue, and a terrier, and she let him take his own time getting to know her and her 2 dobie's (both great). This last time presented some unusual challenges, and Abby went above and beyond to make sure Rocky felt safe with her and that we could continue our vacation. She has always communicated well, and has been fantastic with all of her care. I would highly recommend her for your pet!! I can't say it enough. She's great.”

“Our Yorkies were very well taken care over the two weeks we were away on vacation. Linda was kept busy with medication administration, special food needs and even a trip to the vet! We couldn't have chosen a better sitter, and she gets a five star review from the entire family.”

“Min and Matthew were exceptional sitters for my girl, Rani! Not only did they play with her endlessly (seriously, Rani has zero ability to self-regulate and they went with it!), they also cared for her as their own pup. When she was being finicky about eating, Min took the time to spoon feed her just like I do. Min also send so many pictures and videos, which helped me feel so at peace knowing Rani was well taken care of and loved. I will definitely be sending Rani back to Min and Matthew’s in the future…the 40 minute drive to/from our place is more than worth it!”

“Cheryl was wonderful! She made me feel comfortable and content knowing my dog was in excellent care. She is very warm and welcoming, and took the best care of my Penny! I can't wait to use her again :)”

“Renee was an amazing sitter!! My pup can be both a little shy and very energetic but she did a great job taking care of him. She was always friendly and prompt in her communication and I’d trust her with any dog!”

“Tammy was so flexible when it came to us dropping off and picking up our dog, especially around the busy holiday season. She provided routine updates and photos and it was clear our dog was having a great time running around with other dogs on her large property. We will definitely have to bring her back next time we are in town!”
“Deborah and her daughter were fantastic! Our pup felt so comfortable and right at home with them. It was as if she were going on her own vacation while my family and I went on ours. They communicated so well with us and sent us frequent updates on how Pepper was doing and her adventures. Would 100% book again!”

“Tatiana was so kind and wonderful with my dog. Setting up everything to get my pup a place to stay was fantastic. I can tell she really loves her pets and makes your pet part of the family for the time they spend with her! I highly recommend!”

“Cannot recommend Maria enough! She was excellent with our rescue who is reactive to other dogs. She was great with his high energy level. She sent frequent pictures and updates which was amazing. Will definitely be going back :)”

About: I cared for my family dog for 12 years until she passed, as well as cared for my family and friends furry animals over the years. I’m currently working full time. During the week, I can be available before 8:00am, afternoons, and after 4:30pm Monday through Friday. Weekend schedule is flexible. I’ll make sure they are safe at all times, and well taken care of. Take them on walks, feed them if needed, and play of course!

“This was the first time we left our high maintenance English Bulldog with anyone other than family and I can’t say enough good things about Ingrid. We were extremely nervous leaving Buffy but Ingrid ensured us she was in good hands and eased our fears. She truly treated Buffy like her own and sent us several pictures, letting us know Buffy had a great time. We will definitely be using her again! Thank you!!”

“Jessica made sure our two dogs had a great time. She got them toys, helped with potty training, and treated them like her fur babies! She’s got a whole room just for the dogs and cares deeply for animals. It was nice getting to know Jessica and her beautiful boy Koda! Thoughtfully priced, very personable, and truly loves watching the dogs”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Arcadia Farm home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Arcadia Farm.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Arcadia Farm sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
