Find me at :KolorfulK9(.)com: Rover takes nearly 20% of the final price you pay, so I get 20% less income. 🩷 Geriatric and Special Needs Care if my specialty when it comes to pets. While I will happily accept ALL dogs under 30lbs, I specialize in elderly pets/special needs pets who don't do well in boarding situations and need extra care throughout the day. I'm well-versed in administering oral medication, injections, and even subcutaneous fluids as needed. I am available 24hrs a day for potty breaks and medication routines. I am currently the only sitter in the western area of VA that is certified through the Professional Animal Care Certification Council, a 3rd party certification. This means they do not offer any classes or teaching, but only offer the test, which costs around $400. I am also a member of the International Boarding & Pet Services Association and the International Association of Canine Professionals. I carry Pet Sitting Insurance as well. All in all, I love pets of all ages and sizes. The older ones, the smaller ones, and the ones who need just a little extra care have my heart a little more. (Please note that this site keeps over 20% of my earnings, so I do charge a bit more to book through Rover vs my personal one of KolorfulK9 ) I have availability for the following pups: all pups under 40 lbs, elderly pets of any size, and special-needs pets. I am home most of the day; when I am not, my husband is available to feed/medicate as needed. There will never be a time when your pet is left alone for more than an hour or two at a time (such as needing to run errands or going out for a quick dinner). Next, Rover asks me how I care for pets in my home. My home schedule: I am a homebody, so whenever I am not at work, you can usually find me at home relaxing with my dogs in our 'dog' room, watching Netflix, reading a book, or playing some video games on my computer. Your pup would be right there along with us, relaxing and getting all kinds of love. I am a traveling dog photographer, and if I'm home I rarely leave as I travel enough when working haha! I offer overnight stays in my home specifically for: Elderly pups and pups of all ages with special needs (Under 40lbs) who would not do well in a boarding facility. Your pups would be the center of attention in the house while they were here. We do have cats in the house, so please let us know if your pup has any issues with smaller animals. If so, we can still accommodate them, we would just have them in our dog-only area! I have a 'dog room' at home with a couch for relaxing and reading or gaming/watching Disney+ on our large screen TV, an echo dot that will play calming classical music while I am out of the room, and a padded floor with lots of rugs around for the older pups. When we aren't hanging out in that room, our house has hardwood floors with many rugs to keep paws stable, and tons of dog beds(of all sizes) scattered around for comfort. For potty times, I have a spacious fenced-in yard with plenty of shade! Meal times are at your pet's schedule! I make sure to follow any feeding and medication schedules you provide. My husband works from home, so if I am delayed due to traffic from an errand or such, he can let the pups out to potty or give time-sensitive medications/feedings. Pups are crated or placed in a separate room for Meal times and during Potty rotations to ensure no one gets too rowdy and no one becomes aggressive over their food. I can bring my laptop and be there beyond a standard drop-in. I love getting outside for longer walks (3-4 miles) but I'm just as happy to do shorter walks to help your pup burn off some energy. Your pet's safety and comfort are always my top priority. During walks, I keep dogs securely leashed at all times. Before our first visit, I like to learn about any triggers, behaviors, or how they do with other dogs so I can tailor care to keep them calm and comfortable. I also check with you before giving treats and make sure I'm aware of any allergies or dietary restrictions. Most visits will take place in your home for your pet's comfort. However, if you ever prefer occasional care at my home, I have a fenced-in backyard and a Jeep for safe transport. You can always feel confident knowing your pet will be cared for with consistency, attention, and genuine love every time I'm with them.

About: I have been caring for animals for my entire life and have always adored learning about them and working with them. I will care for any kind of animal of any temperament and will provide an abundance of love, as caring for pets is very fulfilling for me and improves my mental wellbeing :) I am currently working as a vet assistant and will try to update my Rover schedule each month around my schedule at the vet. I am able to take pets into my workplace if you need me on days I work and are comfortable with that. I am extremely respectful of owners’ homes and will care for the pets exactly as I am asked to. I do not mind assertive or otherwise difficult temperament and will love them all the same. I will ensure to be constantly attentive and focused on meeting their needs and keeping them safe.

About: I have always had a dog since I was a baby. I love all animals! Friends and family have always asked me to dog sit while away on vacation. I currently work full time from home so I can watch them during the week day in my home and let out for potty breaks often! I can go to your home on weekends anytime and during the week after 4 pm. I have 2 very friendly dogs who love fur friends! And we have one girl who only loves her fur siblings but she keeps to herself and I will keep her separated from your animal. I have 42 acres to take your dog on long walks and play in our field. I will leash walk your dog at my house. We do let our dogs sleep in our bed so if your fur baby is used to that they are more then welcomed to sleep in our bed. If not we have an extra crate for night time.

About: I’ve owned dogs my entire life. From housetraining puppies to caring for aging senior dogs, I have experience with a range of personalities/quirks and am very comfortable with large or hyperactive dogs and rescues. My older Beagle, who I cared for for more than 13 years, had a seizure disorder and in the final months of her life, we administered IV sub-Q fluids to her every 2-3 days, so I have experience with caring for pups with medical needs and I can administer medication. I also have 5 years of experience volunteering in a high-volume animal shelter, working predominantly with large dogs, so I understand how animals might behave when they are in a stressful environment and interacting with an unfamiliar person. I strive to provide a stress-free, comforting environment while you are away so please let me know what your pup loves the most! What you can expect: — Time outdoors, playing or on leashed walks — Cuddles and belly rubs — Lots of (approved) treats — Every effort to stick to your pet’s routine and establish clear boundaries! I can provide in-home doggy day care and boarding with a prior meet and greet* if your dog gets along with the two dogs in our home. Your pup will never be left alone with my dogs when I’m providing doggy day care or boarding, so I do require them to be crate-trained for overnight stays. I work full-time from home during the week but have a very flexible schedule. I can provide morning walks, drop in visits and afternoon playtime before lots of attention in the evening. My partner is also home most days and our 15-year-old stepson is home in the afternoons and evenings (and weekends), though he is not involved in any animal care. I can board one to two dogs (from the same household) in my home if they are crate-trained, but a meet and greet is required beforehand. They will not be left alone in my home with my pups unattended. I am available for drop-in visits and some housesitting. I am open to long-term, ongoing schedules as well as flexible, on-the-spot drop-ins. I can provide some services in my own home most days of the week. I am open to spending as much time as I can with your pup. I enjoy walks, playing outdoors and sticking to their routine as much as possible! I know it can be stressful for pets when their owners are gone so I strive to provide a stress-free experience for your best friend! I will use your standard equipment and follow all directions you provide, especially on walks. I have experience with escape artists and will do everything I can to keep your pup safe.
