“Hillary was great! We loved the numerous photos she sent throughout the day and our puppy, Wriggly loved being there. I could tell by how tired Wriggly was when we picked him up that Hillary had given him lots of play time and he wasn't cooped up all day.”

“Layna and her family did a great job taking care of our dog. We will definitely recommend and use again when it’s time for another trip. Appreciated her good communication and daily updates she sent.”

“Caroline and Spencer are the best! We will always use them whenever we go out of town! They took such great care of our girl Xena! Their home is amazing and dog friendly! We are so thankful for having them be our rovers! ??”

“We use Brenda exclusively. She is the best! She sends photos and updates and we always know they are well cared for. Sissy runs in when we get there as if to let everyone know she has arrived. This confirms to me she loves staying with Brenda. I’m so glad we found her.”

“Casey does a fantastic job! She watches Milo every year when we go on vacation. Milo loves going there and has so much fun and attention I think he doesn’t care how long he stays. Casey is attentive and I never have to worry about my dog’s care. She sends updates, pictures and will reach out if there is a question. We will never use anyone else!”

“I really felt like Enzo was being taken care of the whole time I was gone. Emily was very kind and flexible with my schedule. I even got some really good professional grade pictures from her of Enzo! All around great experience.”

“I’m tremendously excited because I have found my fur baby an excellent sitter. Kari has been a heaven sent. It was during an emergency that I found her listed here on Rover. She created a wonderful atmosphere to care for my fur baby while I was away. She followed all my instructions and even sent a photo during his stay. He was a happy bean when I returned to pick him up. I love it, I’ll definitely keep her in mind for my next getaway.”

“Jolene was absolutely amazing she treated our pepper just like family and kept us updated with messages and photos on how she was doing through out her stay. She had plenty of space to run, toys to enjoy, and friends to play with during her time there too. We will highly recommend jolene to anyone we know looking for someone to care for their pups. Thank you so much!”

“Jessica did an excellent job caring for my dog Rupi. She took Rupi on long walks every day and sent pictures/updates regularly. I would highly recommend Jessica.”

“After four or five meet and greets, Crystal was the only one our little girl gelled with! She is sweet and kind and treated our pup with the special care she needed. We are SO pleased and thankful for Crystal!”

“Very highly recommended! Chantal and her husband were great caretakers for our two dogs for a week’s time — even more than we could have expected. They have a beautiful, spacious, safe place — both indoors and for when they had to go outside. My husband and I felt 100% comfortable leaving them there while we were away. From the beginning during our meet-and-greet through pick-up at the end of our trip, we saw just how kind and calm they were, treating our dogs just like their own dog and providing lots of interaction and play. Also, Chantal was extremely accommodating of our 7 month old puppy’s “puppy behavior” and attentive to the need to go outside more frequently. She provided updates every day (and was very responsive to other questions) and we could see just how relaxed our pups were, as if they were staying with family. We are definitely planning on using Chantal’s services the next time we need to go out of town.”

“Wendy was very reassuring while keeping Sammy. I had only had Sammy for 3 weeks when I needed a sitter for a day and a half. I was very nervous to leave him. Wendy kept me updated with photos while keeping Sammy which really helped me. Wendy has a big fenced in back yard which is also very nice for a puppy or grown dog. I was fortunate she had another puppy arrive the second day so my puppy had someone to play with! :-) I would recommend Wendy as a pet sitter if you find your self in need. She has a lot of experience especially with puppies! You can also read the rest of her reviews as I did which brought me to her in the first place!”

“Marketa and her family were so sweet to Snickers and treated him wonderfully. He came home happy and healthy! I loved all the pictures and updates sent throughout the week. Definitely will use again in the future!”

“Emily has watched my dog Bear multiple times and he has really enjoyed his stays with Emily. Emily has always been fast with responses and send photos and videos for updates. She treats my dog like he is her own. Thanks Emily for taking such good care of my dog!”

About: I’m a cat owner myself and understand that every cat has their own personality, routine, and comfort level. Some want all the attention they can get, while others would much rather watch me suspiciously from across the room until they decide I’ve earned their trust! During visits, I’m happy to handle feeding and fresh water, litter box care, playtime, treats, medications when discussed beforehand, and plenty of affection for cats who want it. For more independent or shy cats, I’m comfortable giving them space while still making sure they’re eating, drinking, using the litter box normally, and doing well. I know how easy it can be to worry about your cats while you’re away, so I’ll keep you updated and send photos so you know how they’re doing.

About: In addition to growing up around dog rescue efforts, I have also gained a lot of experience in cat care! While I do not have any professional experience with cats as I do dogs, I can say that I have had cats within my primary care that are high maintenance/special needs. This was part of my duties in volunteering at rescues, and additionally applies to cats I have had over the years. I have experience in raising kittens, helping out less social kitties, and delivering all kinds of medications.
“Heather was an excellent sitter for my three cats — Prince Mittens, Sunny Sunshine, and Midnight Moon. Her calm, gentle demeanor made a big difference for Sunny and Midnight, who can be shy, and she was patient, letting them warm up at their own pace. She communicated clearly, sent updates and photos, and even made time for a live video call so I could see and talk to my fur babies. She also did a great job house-sitting, leaving everything clean and in perfect shape. I would absolutely book Heather again without hesitation — she’s calm, reliable, and truly cares for your pets, and I highly recommend her to anyone with shy or sensitive cats.”

“Ariane was dependable and came every day as expected while I was gone on vacation. She sent me updates and notes on my two cats and made me feel very comfortable with her being there to take care of them. She also sent plenty of pictures! In addition, she fed my fish and watered my plant. Would recommend her! Thank you, Ariane!”

About: Cats have been part of my life for many years, and I understand that every cat has a unique personality and comfort level. In addition to caring for my own cats over the years, I have also rescued and fostered cats and kittens, providing daily care, socialization, feeding, and monitoring for health concerns. I am experienced with feeding routines, litter box maintenance, administering medications when needed, and providing enrichment and companionship. Whether your cat is outgoing and playful or prefers a quiet environment and gentle attention, I will respect their individual needs and help them feel safe and comfortable while you’re away. As a pet owner and former animal rescue operator, I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pets. I will care for your cat with patience, compassion, and attention to detail, treating them as if they were my own.
“Eman is wonderful! It was obvious from the beginning how much love and care she has for our fur baby! And our Cookie loved her immediately! I highly recommend Eman and will definitely be using her services again!”

“Melissa loves animals and really relayed that love to both of my cats! She sent photos and updates each time she cared for them. I found this so refreshing and comforting knowing my babies were happy while I was away. I shall hire Melissa D. for all my time away from home. Thanks Melissa, you're the best!”

“Eleni was amazing for us this week! We’ve never left our three dogs for this long and ended up having a few curveballs, but she graciously handled a dog in heat and a few days of unexpected diarrhea. She went above and beyond and kept us updated every step of the way. We would absolutely use her again in a heartbeat.”

About: I have taken care of cats since I was a child. I have adopted most of my cats from the streets and 2 of my cats I took in from the families they were with since they were rehoming them.

“At first I thought Remi was mad at us for leaving him. It soon was clear to see he had a full day of fun and was pooped. Hillary had full command of him and her dog Joshua and sent us pics through the day playing and resting. I had full confidence and could see that she and her family were loving animal people. She came through on short notice and on Christmas! We recommend her whole heartedly. We will happily be using her again in the future.”

“Layman was a lifesaver when we needed a last minute dog sitter to attend our son’s graduation. She was flexible with the timing of our return as we knew traffic could be bad getting back. Our Bella seemed comfortable with Layna and got along with her dog Chance.”

About: Rover says "What sets you apart from other sitters?" My answer is simple. Find me at :KolorfulK9(.)com: Rover takes nearly 20% of the final price you pay, so I get 20% less income. 🩷 Geriatric and Special Needs Care if my specialty when it comes to pets. While I will happily accept ALL dogs under 30lbs, I specialize in elderly pets/special needs pets who don't do well in boarding situations and need extra care throughout the day. I'm well-versed in administering oral medication, injections, and even subcutaneous fluids as needed. I am available 24hrs a day for potty breaks and medication routines. I am currently the only sitter in the western area of VA that is certified through the Professional Animal Care Certification Council, a 3rd party certification. This means they do not offer any classes or teaching, but only offer the test, which costs around $400. I am also a member of the International Boarding & Pet Services Association and the International Association of Canine Professionals. I carry Pet Sitting Insurance as well. All in all, I love pets of all ages and sizes. The older ones, the smaller ones, and the ones who need just a little extra care have my heart a little more. (Please note that this site keeps over 20% of my earnings, so I do charge a bit more to book through Rover vs my personal one of KolorfulK9 ) I have availability for the following pups: all pups under 40 lbs, elderly pets of any size, and special-needs pets. I am home most of the day; when I am not, my husband is available to feed/medicate as needed. There will never be a time when your pet is left alone for more than an hour or two at a time (such as needing to run errands or going out for a quick dinner). Next, Rover asks me how I care for pets in my home. My home schedule: I am a homebody, so whenever I am not at work, you can usually find me at home relaxing with my dogs in our 'dog' room, watching Netflix, reading a book, or playing some video games on my computer. Your pup would be right there along with us, relaxing and getting all kinds of love. I am a traveling dog photographer, and if I'm home I rarely leave as I travel enough when working haha! I offer overnight stays in my home specifically for: Elderly pups and pups of all ages with special needs (Under 40lbs) who would not do well in a boarding facility. Your pups would be the center of attention in the house while they were here. We do have cats in the house, so please let us know if your pup has any issues with smaller animals. If so, we can still accommodate them, we would just have them in our dog-only area! I have a 'dog room' at home with a couch for relaxing and reading or gaming/watching Disney+ on our large screen TV, an echo dot that will play calming classical music while I am out of the room, and a padded floor with lots of rugs around for the older pups. When we aren't hanging out in that room, our house has hardwood floors with many rugs to keep paws stable, and tons of dog beds(of all sizes) scattered around for comfort. For potty times, I have a spacious fenced-in yard with plenty of shade! Meal times are at your pet's schedule! I make sure to follow any feeding and medication schedules you provide. My husband works from home, so if I am delayed due to traffic from an errand or such, he can let the pups out to potty or give time-sensitive medications/feedings. Pups are crated or placed in a separate room for Meal times and during Potty rotations to ensure no one gets too rowdy and no one becomes aggressive over their food. Please feel free to reach out with any specific questions about our day-to-day! I am happy to answer any inquiries.
“Dana was wonderfully kind and welcoming to our Rocky. Dana’s dog Joby was a great playmate as we was greeted at the door by the two of them together when we returned. Dana had everything including a great personality. Thank you Dana! We will definitely be back if we are in the area again.”

“Crystal did a great job caring for our two dogs Max and Cody. She and her family obviously loved dogs and our two took to her immediately. Her place was great and the dogs were able to spend time outdoors. She gave us a worry free day. Highly recommended.”

“Absolutely wonderful from the very first day. My little man can't wait to go to daycare every day! Chantal has a caring and and loving manner with dogs of all ages. HIGHLY recommend!”

About: I have been caring for animals for my entire life and have always adored learning about them and working with them. I will care for any kind of animal of any temperament and will provide an abundance of love, as caring for pets is very fulfilling for me and improves my mental wellbeing :) I am currently working as a vet assistant and will try to update my Rover schedule each month around my schedule at the vet. I am able to take pets into my workplace if you need me on days I work and are comfortable with that. I am extremely respectful of owners’ homes and will care for the pets exactly as I am asked to. I do not mind assertive or otherwise difficult temperament and will love them all the same. I will ensure to be constantly attentive and focused on meeting their needs and keeping them safe.

About: I have been taking care of dogs my whole life, and even spend time taking care of others homes and dogs as well. I love to get outside and be active seeing as I am a college athlete and have no problem running around with animals and caring and loving for them when you are not able to do it. I truly love animals and have such compassion for them that I love to take care of them. I am a teacher, and love to board dogs during the weeks. They keep me active in days that I am working. I would love to talk to you more about your dogs needs, I hope that we are a perfect match and I will be able to help you take care of your animals!
“I was desperate to get a dog sitter when we were in town visiting with our daughter and Casey came through for us! The doggies loved her and she wore them out. :) highly recommend!”

“This is our second time booking Marketa for Cadence's daycare while we were in town for an event. She did a great job with her 2 years ago that I immediately thought to reach out to her again when we returned this year. Marketa is attentive and caring with Cadence and sent us photo updates of how she was doing. She got along well with the other doggos and even cuddled up to her on the couch. I never have any worries about Cadence when she stayed with her, and would recommend Marketa to anyone in the neighborhood. Thank you!”

About: I have always had a dog since I was a baby. I love all animals! Friends and family have always asked me to dog sit while away on vacation. I currently work full time from home so I can watch them during the week day in my home and let out for potty breaks often! I can go to your home on weekends anytime and during the week after 4 pm. I have 2 very friendly dogs who love fur friends! And we have one girl who only loves her fur siblings but she keeps to herself and I will keep her separated from your animal. I have 42 acres to take your dog on long walks and play in our field. I will leash walk your dog at my house. We do let our dogs sleep in our bed so if your fur baby is used to that they are more then welcomed to sleep in our bed. If not we have an extra crate for night time.

About: Dogs have always been a part of both of our lives, and caring for them comes naturally to us. We know every dog has their own personality and routine, and we’ll treat yours with the same love, patience, and attention we’d give our own. Our goal is to make your pup feel happy, safe, and right at home until you return. My schedule is very flexible, allowing me to provide attentive care throughout the day. I can accommodate morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend visits whenever possible. I’ll always communicate clearly about my availability and make your pet’s comfort, routine, and well-being my top priority. With two caring dog lovers on the team, your pup will receive extra attention, plenty of affection, and thoughtful care throughout their stay. We believe communication builds trust, so we’ll send regular updates and photos, giving you peace of mind while you’re away. Our goal for every dog to feel safe, loved, and right at home with us!
“Falen hosted doggie day care for a shelter foster dog that we have. She was so accommodating for my schedule and even offered to keep him overnight since I would be dropping him off again the next morning. Thank you to Falen and Dani for a positive experience for both me and the foster dog.”

“Jennifer was great with our 4.5 month old puppy. She took him outside enough that there were no accidents. Her dog and our puppy played endlessly. He slept great at night. This was his first time away. She was extremely flexible with our schedule. I highly recommend Jennifer!”

About: I’ve owned dogs my entire life. From housetraining puppies to caring for aging senior dogs, I have experience with a range of personalities/quirks and am very comfortable with large or hyperactive dogs and rescues. My older Beagle, who I cared for for more than 13 years, had a seizure disorder and in the final months of her life, we administered IV sub-Q fluids to her every 2-3 days, so I have experience with caring for pups with medical needs and I can administer medication. I also have 5 years of experience volunteering in a high-volume animal shelter, working predominantly with large dogs, so I understand how animals might behave when they are in a stressful environment and interacting with an unfamiliar person. I strive to provide a stress-free, comforting environment while you are away so please let me know what your pup loves the most! What you can expect: — Time outdoors, playing or on leashed walks — Cuddles and belly rubs — Lots of (approved) treats — Every effort to stick to your pet’s routine and establish clear boundaries! I can provide in-home doggy day care and boarding with a prior meet and greet* if your dog gets along with the two dogs in our home. Your pup will never be left alone with my dogs when I’m providing doggy day care or boarding, so I do require them to be crate-trained for overnight stays. I work full-time from home during the week but have a very flexible schedule. I can provide morning walks, drop in visits and afternoon playtime before lots of attention in the evening. My partner is also home most days and our 15-year-old stepson is home in the afternoons and evenings (and weekends), though he is not involved in any animal care. I can board one to two dogs (from the same household) in my home if they are crate-trained, but a meet and greet is required beforehand. They will not be left alone in my home with my pups unattended. I am available for drop-in visits and some housesitting. I am open to long-term, ongoing schedules as well as flexible, on-the-spot drop-ins. I can provide some services in my own home most days of the week. I am open to spending as much time as I can with your pup. I enjoy walks, playing outdoors and sticking to their routine as much as possible! I know it can be stressful for pets when their owners are gone so I strive to provide a stress-free experience for your best friend! I will use your standard equipment and follow all directions you provide, especially on walks. I have experience with escape artists and will do everything I can to keep your pup safe. I also am very neat and tidy, will clean up any messes your pet makes and will treat your space with respect.
“Kari has been so kind and amazing in accommodating our very anxious dog and working with us to ease her in to feeling comfortable being away from home! We’re so thankful we found her and highly recommend her!”
“Emily & Donnie accepted a last minute booking for my new puppy & I feel like I hit the jackpot! They were so nice, accommodating, & responsive. I received pictures & videos throughout the day, which made this pup mommy's heart smile ☺️ I couldn't recommend them enough. I will definitely be using them again!”

About: Animals have always been an important part of my life, and I have hands-on experience caring for both dogs and cats in addition to my experience through Rover. I’ve worked with repeat clients who trust me with regular visits, feeding, walks, playtime, litter care, pet routines, and caring for their homes while they’re away. I take the responsibility seriously. I pay attention to changes in behavior, appetite, bathroom habits, or anything else that seems unusual, and I communicate with owners rather than assuming something is fine. My goal is for you to come home to happy pets who have been well cared for and a home that has been treated respectfully. I work full-time from home Tuesday through Saturday, which keeps me local throughout the week. I’m generally available for visits before or after work on those days, with greater flexibility on Sundays and Mondays. Feel free to reach out with the dates and times you need and we can see what works! Your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine are always my priority. I take time to learn each pet’s individual needs, personality, boundaries, and any important safety concerns before providing care. I’m careful with doors, gates, leashes, feeding instructions, medications, and anything else specific to your pet’s routine. I also understand the trust involved in allowing someone into your home. I treat every client’s space with the same care and respect I would want someone to show my own, and I’m happy to provide updates and photos throughout visits so you can feel confident that everything is going well. I believe pets are most comfortable when their routines are kept familiar, so I’ll follow your instructions closely while allowing your pet to interact at their own pace. Whether they’re energetic and ready to play or shy and need a little extra patience, I want them to feel safe and cared for while you’re away.

I currently have changing availability, however, any days I could not do will be marked off on my availability calendar. “Katie was more than amazing! I have left our Doberman, Roxy, at various kennels, and other Rover sitters, but Roxy would seem anxious or would get sick after I picked her up from those places. Not with Katie! I felt that our furry friend was with family. It was clear that our naturally anxious dog has made a friend. She seemed happy and content and although she was excited to see me, she was not anxious or rushing to leave Katie's place. Katie sent many pictures and videos and it was clear that Roxy was being treated like Katie's own dog. I will be using Katie again. I recommend her wholeheartedly.”
