“This was Khloe's first time being boarded and what a great experience. Her first meeting with Candice went so well that when it came time for her to actually stay we were totally comfortable. Candice sent pics and kept in contact with us throughout Khloe's stay. I will definitely use her again.”

“Lindsey did a fantastic job caring for our 6 month old pup. She communicated a minimum of 2x per day and always provided pictures with each communication. We will definitely be using Lindsey again in the future.”

“Barbara did an amazing job taking care of our boy. She made sure he gets adjusted well. This was our first time with her. We now know where to keep him when we are away. There were regular pics being shared from her. We were at ease that he is in good hands. I definitely recommend her. Amenities at her place are amazing with a big yard for the pups to play and run around.”

“Another amazing stay with Claudia!! She was very patient with my picky dog trying to get her to eat. She sent lots of pictures and I could tell my Stella was having a great time!”

“Yvonne and Joseph did a great job with Duke! It was our first time to be away from him for 24 hours and it was great to have frequent communication from them throughout that period, in the form of texts, pictures and short video. It helped to know Duke was in good hands and happy. We will definitely request them again in the future if needed.”

“Rita is a wonderful pet sitter. From the moment I met her I felt that my senior dog was in great hands. We thoroughly discussed his needs and Rita asked some great questions. She put my mind at ease immediately. Rita provided me with updates during my trip and it was very reassuring to know that my old buddy was in good hands. I highly recommend Rita and will definitely use her again!”

“Geosselyn did a wonderful job with our cat Esther! We got regular updates with pictures and videos, and we could see that Esther was comfortable and happy. Very pleased with Geosselyn's services!”

About: We brought home our 1st puppy when our eldest daughter was 8 weeks old. Everything since then has been easy! Currently have an 8yr old Golden Retriever with a fenced in backyard. Each of our grown children took in a dog or puppy once they had their own homes. We have had cats, hamsters, fish, and guinea pigs over the years. I'm recently semi-retired and my daughters have used Rover for their dogs in far away states. I thought it would be a nice way to give our dog a playmate every once in a while. We have a large fenced in yard which your dog can run around or hangout with our dog if they'd like. Our house is split level so there could be 6 stairs at time to go up & down. I love to walk our dog & listen to books or podcasts.
“Jill and Thomas took amazing care of our boy Boo while we were on vacation. They we communicative and we loved seeing the little videos and photos they shared. They are our new go-to sitters!”

“Tabby took wonderful care of my dog while I was out of state. She was flexible and accommodating with pickup and drop-off, making everything easy and convenient. My dog was comfortable, happy, and clearly well cared for during the stay. I appreciated the peace of mind knowing my pet was in good hands and would gladly book with Tabby again.”

“Superb experience in all aspects. Initial inquities, booking process and all communications were expedient and clear. This was the first time boarding for our 7 month old puppy (song with his 4 year old "sister". Alexandra having experience with Great Danes was so very helpful and made our fur babies feel welcomed and loved. They especially enjoyed time with the girls! Unfortunately (for the sitters) the weather was rainy throughout, but Alexandra and daily were up to the challenges of wet pups with muddy paws. In addition, the younger one's night separation anxiety required some medication and thoughtful handling, all of which was accommodated and communicated with ease. The dogs were extremely well cared for and loved, and we received regular updates. Simply put, we couldn't be happier and will definitely use their services again whether for short or week long needs in the future. We recommend them with absolute highest praise and confidence!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Appleton Glen home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Appleton Glen.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Appleton Glen sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
