“Gerry is the best. We just left our puppy with her for his first overnight stay and he was received with lots of love and attention. Would definitely recommend Gerry to others.”

“Kate did an amazing job taking care of my baby kitten, Bella! She provided frequent updates, which gave me peace of mind, and it was clear my kitten was in great hands. Her care and attention to detail were exceptional, and I truly appreciated her reassurance throughout. I would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter!”
“Eduardo took great care of my big personality dachshund! I needed last minute care and they were so quick and responsive. They sent photos during the stay and my pup had a great time! Will definitely use them in the future!”

“We’re lucky to have our dog stay with Brandon! Brandon is very caring ! He sends us daily updates and pics of my dog. And our dog got along well with Malo too. We really appreciate that Brandon took good care of our dog. Highly recommended! We definitely will rebook !”

“Julianna was great with our dog. She kept was updated and also sent us pictures of our dog. She responded quickly to our message which was nice of her. Will definitely recommend her to others and definitely book her again as well”

“I needed last minute boarding for my 3 month old puppy due to an unexpected emergency, and decided to reach out to Pam. I am so happy that we decided to go with Pam, as she provided exceptional care for our puppy. She messaged back nearly immediately, let us know when she is available for a call, and we discussed expectations and how she carries care for dogs throughout the boarding process. I felt immediately at ease, as Pam is very kind and easily diffused any anxiety that came with boarding our puppy. Pam gave us updates throughout the day and always responded quickly, reassuring me that I could give her a call when needed. I would 100% recommend Pam’s services to any dog owner who needs boarding in the area. Pam is an expert in this area, having cared for all kinds of dogs. Her knowledge is broad and she carries herself very well. Thank you so much! ❤️”

“Jaime was absolutely amazing with my dogs! They loved her so much. This was my first time leaving my dogs, and I was very nervous. Jaime made me feel comfortable, she sent me pics throughout my trip and kept me informed on what they were up too. I will definitely be using Jaime again and I highly recommend her!!!”

“Jill was great in taking care of my reactive dog during the weekend. She has a fenced backyard which is great! Jill also scheduled a meet and greet and made notes on all the care information for Molly. I'll be booking with her again”

“Namrata is great in taking care of my Bichon. She sent me picture every day and updates me on my dog's status. My dog usually does not eat at stranger's place, but at her house, she ate everything and slept well. My dog was able to cuddle with them and play with them everyday. I feel that my dog had a vacation while I was one vacation. Namrata is the person to go to for dog sit while I am away. Thanks for the great service.”

“Neli is great! We cannot recommend her enough! She took good care of our dog Toby and sent us regular updates, videos and photos. She communicated any concerns punctually which gave us peace of mind. Her house is super clean and she has a nice backyard with a small fence which was great for our little dog. Toby came home so happy and relaxed. We will definitely book her again.”

“Samantha was great. Very attentive to our dog and his needs and provided regular updates. Her dog cocoa was also very sweet. Would recommend to anyone in the area”

“Thank you Kimberley for taking care of Vito. Your kindness and knowledge of my senior dog was incredible. I want to also thank you for your patience with me as I was a first time user of Rover and was a little awkward in using the app. I enjoyed my time at my event because I knew Vito was in safe hands. Thank you.”

“Marsha was so kind and sweet with my dog Mocha. She listened to and carried out all my requests. It was clear Mocha was comfortable and had fun while staying with Marsha. Definitely will rebook!”

“Harley was fantastic! She totally accommodated my 10 year old Labrador, who’s not the easiest to care for. She really loved him and did her best to make him feel at home and comfortable. She was very communicative about everything and sent lots of photos. Her house was clean and large enough for a 100lb lab. Her yard is big and fenced in. We will def be rebooking her! Thanks Leny 🫶🏼”

“The house is clean and my pups were well taken care of. I was sent videos and pictures everyday. My AmStaff mix did find a rawhide bone in the yard and it made her sick. I did have to take her to the vet the next day because she was on her 3rd day of not eating or drinking. The result was no obstruction and hopefully the Rover guarantee will cover the cost of the vet's emergency care after the co-pay of $250. This is not the outcome I expected, but I believe both my pets were well cared for and this was an isolated incident.”

“Joanna did a great job keeping Posto for a day. She kept us informed periodically with photos so we had nothing to worry. She followed all his routine and I will recommend her to my friends and family and also will rebook when necessary. Thank you Joanna.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Applegarth
I can’t thank Marsha enough for the love and care she gave to my dog Charlie while I was out of the country. Marsha was able to cheer up sad Charlie into his usual playful self in a very short time. I was kept well informed with daily pictures and videos showing Charlie and Marsha playing and snuggling together. Knowing Charlie was happy and well cared for made my vacation more enjoyable. Thank you!

Brandon is the best! He sent a lot of updates of Zuko and is always flexible and responsive. Zuko loves staying with Brandon and Milo. As soon as we drop him off, he’s comfortable as if he’s in his own home. We reach out to Brandon every time we go out of town and we’re at ease that Zuko is well cared for while we’re away.

Amazing!! My little dude is injured pending surgery, so had quite a few special accommodations and Jesse was so wonderful with him! I got lots of pictures and my doggo got LOTS of lovins. It felt so good to know I could relax on vacation and my little guy was in great hands.

During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.

It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
