“Bertie was amazing! It was my first time using Rover as a pet owner, and I needed a sitter for the day while on vacation. My puppy is still fairly young and is very attached to me, but she appeared to settle in pretty quickly and have a great time with some other pups. Bertie stayed in touch while I was out, sending pics and updates, and even recommended some great local spots to check out. Super happy with this experience!”

“So happy with this host! Dogs have fun with other dogs. Comfy nap time and even a walk!!! Love the pictures!!! Could not be happier . I used to feel so guilty dropping them off at pet day cares but since I found this rover host I feel not guilt! .”

“Paula is very responsible and attentive to your concerns about your pets wellbeing. Having had two really bad experiences here with my pet, I wish all sitters were like Paula. A responsible adult with good common sense looking after your pets wellbeing. On top of that she lives in a nice neighborhood with her own backyard.”
“Jenny is a wonderful dog sitter. Couldn’t recommend her more highly. She helped care for my golden after her cancer diagnosis and made sure she had lots of fun, attention, and happy times. Also wonderful handling the less glamorous parts of medicine and appetite changes. Tons of photos and updates, and incredibly flexible with drop-off and pick-up times. Very grateful to have had Jenny as a sitter, thank you!”
About: Your dog will be treated like part of the family while you're away. I intentionally keep my numbers low so every guest receives plenty of individualized attention and supervision. I'm a homeschool mom, homemaker, and lifelong dog lover. My husband, two daughters, and three dogs make our home a fun, safe, and loving environment where someone is home most of the day. 🐾 Meet & Greets Required I require a free meet-and-greet before accepting new clients to ensure we're a great fit for each other. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family member! As a homemaker, I'm present for the majority of the day, which allows me to provide consistent attention, potty breaks, and playtime throughout your dog's stay. Every dog adjusts differently, and I have the ability to tailor my routine accordingly. Your dog's comfort and safety are central to how I care for every guest. I closely supervise interactions between guest and resident dogs, and I take time to understand each dog's temperament and needs before allowing unsupervised play. Meals are served separately to maintain a calm environment and avoid food-related tension. I'm happy to follow your dog's established feeding schedule, medication routine, or any additional care instructions you provide. At bedtime, I do my best to replicate your dog's normal setup, whether that's a crate, a dog bed, or another familiar arrangement, so they feel settled and secure throughout their stay.
“Svitlana did great with Otto's nervous mom (me). She sent plenty of photos, updates, and reassurance. Otto felt comfortable at the house during his doggie daycare stay. He was relaxed enough to eat, sleep, and play. I rarely have anyone watch Otto, but we'll return if Svitlana is available when needed in the future.”

“Luna loves her visits with Vanessa and her family! She always comes back tired and contented. Very thankful to have them in our lives for the past few months! It’s a relief that she’s loved on when I’m sleeping for work. Also they go above and beyond! Thank you both so much!”

I can watch your pet during the day, do shorter drop-in visits, or stay overnight to give your pet attention while you’re away from home. I have a flexible schedule as an online college student so I can spend the majority of time with your pets, in your home or mine. I like to stick to the routine your pet is used to, but am also open to taking them on adventures if they do well in a small car.

“We were impressed with Jessica’s care for our border collie mix Boots for a very long day care day. Boots enjoyed the fenced-in yard and romping with another visiting dog. With a lovely, flexible, positive personality, Jess made us feel assured that Boots was being well taken care of. We would highly recommend her to others and will definitely seek her services again, when we return to town and need temporary dog care.”

About: I have been taking care of dogs and cats for over 20 years, pets are my passion! All pets in my care are treated with loving and gentle guidance using only positive reinforcement. All dogs will remain on leash the entirety of their walk. We have a fenced in area off the back patio for bathroom breaks with wood chips as ground coverage. No grass of any kind for the safety of those pets with grass and skin allergies.

“Buffy had her first day of doggie day care and seemed to love it! Charissa worked with her on some leash manners while letting Buffy get more comfortable being around the other pups. Charissa must have kept her mind and body busy all day because Buff came home and slept the rest of the evening. We are looking forward to Buffy getting some more time around other dogs.”

“Amy was wonderful with my Mads. She provided her with plenty of exercise and cuddling. She sent me lots of photos and videos which was wonderful to have. Very much recommend.”

“I am so blessed to have found Tamara and double blessed that she lives so close to me. Perry took to her right away and he loves her dog Ollie. I am so happy that my baby now has somewhere to go and have some interaction during the week. I’m excited to have a learn long-term caregiver for Perry.”

“Awesome dog sitter! I was in Charlottesville for an interview, and needed a sitter pretty last minute. Caroline was super responsive, sent me so many cute updates, pictures and videos during the day. Raina had so much fun playing with the other dogs, and I would 100% rebook if I’m in the area in the future. Highly recommend!”

“So simple and pleasant. Emil took care of our dog while we were in town for a football game. She seemed happy and content when we picked her up. Emil has a calming demeanor.”

“My senior dog was well looked after by Cory and his wife. I forgot to mention my boy's aversion to cats, which I didn't know they have. They were very gracious about my oversight and managed the situation well. Felt very comfortable leaving my boy with them.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 120 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Antioch. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Antioch commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 120 sitters in Antioch, 88% respond to messages in under an hour.
You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
