“Grace was so lovely to work with! It can be hard to know if your pet will get along with someone new, especially when you're not home. Grace came by before we left to meet our cat and learn all her quirks. We definitely knew that Fil our cat would be in good hands. She sent along pictures everyday and was able to retrieve a package that was delivered to our apartment while we were gone. I would 100% recommend Grace to a friend and will have her watch our pet whenever we travel next.”

“Cynthia is AMAZING. From keeping us up to date with our dogs, to bringing in packages left on the porch, to clear and fast communication, I would recommend Cynthia to anyone looking for a pet sitter. It’s scary having outsourced online help. Cynthia has made our experience transitioning to Rover smooth and stress free. My fiancé and I have consistently rebooked with Cynthia and don’t plan to book with anyone else.”

About: I love playing with and caring for animals. I know it’s hard to be there for your pet at all times, so I would love to help you with your needs. I love to play, walk, bathe, swim, and do pretty much whatever it is your animal needs. I am comfortable with all ages, sizes and breeds. If needed, I can administer medicines. I am available days , weeknights and weekends at all times. I have had my own dogs and other pets since I was 7 years old, so I am hoping that I can care for your pets the way that I have always cared for my own. Pet care is part of my everyday routine. I’m used to morning and evening walks, feeding on a schedule, meds when needed, and plenty of playtime and snuggles built into my day. I plan my errands and social stuff around animals being let out, fed, and comfortable, so adding your pets into that rhythm feels really natural for me. When I’m in a pet’s home, I stick to their normal routine as closely as possible – same feeding schedule, walk times, and sleeping spots. I do regular check-ins for food, water, potty breaks, and meds if needed, and I always build in playtime and cuddles so they’re not just ‘being watched,’ they’re actually getting attention. I keep the home tidy, follow any house rules you leave, and send photo updates so you can see how they’re doing while you’re away.
“Heidi was wonderful. She came by to feed my dog, spent quality time with him, and made sure he was well cared for. She was reliable, sent great updates, and gave me peace of mind while I was away. I’m especially grateful that she was able to step in at the last minute over a holiday. I’d absolutely recommend Heidi and would gladly book her again.”

“This was my first time using Rover and Daysi was so helpful. She’s a quick responder, answers questions thoroughly, patient with my old/sick cat, and very detailed in her check-in reports. I’m so grateful for her!”
About: Hi there, everyone! Please scroll to the bottom and read our policies before booking! But before you go, let us tell you about ourselves! We offer the most unique experience for your pets, allowing them to have their own getaway when you have things come up in life. Whether that is planned vacations or when life likes to kick you down, we are here to offer a boarding experience like no other. My family and I have always owned dogs; I grew up with them and trained them all my life. Our family is also part of a rescue. So what better way to use our land than to also take care of other people's dogs! We are located in the northern part of Alamance County. We offer 98 acres of land with several walking trails next to a flowing creek, a clean and swimmable pond with a shallow area, a gated outside area with separate runners for the cool days with a nice breeze, and an inside area with luxury crates equipped with barn doors and beds inside of them for all of our furry visitors to relax and feel right at home! Here at our farm called The Retreat, we want your pet to have their own getaway while you have your own getaway! Currently, we are usually available 24 hours a day for your pet. I work from home as a bookkeeper and as a Realtor, so I’m usually here working from home unless I’m running to show a home. While I’m out, I have my wife and the rest of my family to cover my spot until I return. So, your pet should always have someone here to care for them! Here, your pet will always have someone to care for them throughout the day, so you can trust they are in the best of hands. We also understand that it’s a lot of land, so we offer clip-on air tags for your dog's collar while they stay here for extra safety and surveillance. It is our goal for our furry guests to have a safe and stimulating environment at all times during their stay!
“Today was the first time that we had Lindsay come meet our dog, Zeus, and it went so amazing! She was so attentive to him and taking the time to get to know him (and he absolutely adored her and all the pets he was getting). We are excited for her to continue building a rapport with him and start meeting with him weekly!”

“Meredith always communicates her arrival, responds quickly and shares information about Finn’s day. She is wonderful to work with. Finn loves her and is always so happy when we get home. We highly recommend Meredith”

“This was the longest I’ve ever left my cat, Jack, and I honestly could not have asked for a better sitter. Jack is extremely shy and nervous around new people, so I was very anxious about leaving him, but Nicholas was incredibly patient, kind, and understanding with him from the start. Within just a few days, Jack completely warmed up to him, which honestly says everything. I received beautiful daily pictures and videos, and it was so reassuring seeing how comfortable, happy, and loved Jack was while I was away. Because of that, I was truly able to relax and enjoy my vacation knowing he was in such great hands. I came home to a very happy cat, and I’m so grateful for the care and attention Jack received. I would absolutely recommend Nicholas to anyone looking for a trustworthy, compassionate, and reliable pet sitter.”

“Lily was wonderful with our cat, Koa! She was very attentive and gave her lots of love, updates and pictures of them cuddling! She definitely exceeded our expectations and would highly recommend her! We will definitely use her again… 😻 Thank you Lily! ☺️”

“Samantha took excellent care of my dog! She went above and beyond to make sure he felt safe and cared for, let him warm up to her on his terms and gave him all the love and pets! I would recommend her to anyone needing someone to care for their furry baby! ♥️ thank you Samantha!”

About: I’ve taken care of animals for as long as I can remember. My mother was a dog sitter when I was younger so that has made me comfortable around most if not all breeds. I would help her with the feeding while she took them out. Now that I’m older I have two huskies and a cat. My goal is to eventually have farm animals, mainly as pets 😂. So, my love for animals is quite enormous. I do currently work from home M-F. I can give potty breaks every 2-3 hours while working. Since I work from home your pet would have to be well mannered while I’m on the phone. They of course will be welcomed to lay around me while working and will be loved on the entire time 😊. I have a huge yard, 2 acres worth. About 1/2 an acre is fenced in for the dogs. I have 2 spunky huskies well one tends to be more lazy than anything and I have a cat that loves our dogs.
About: I’ve had dogs my entire life ranging from 5lbs to 50+lbs. Dogs have always been a significant part of my life, and I love caring for dogs for friends and family. I’m available weekends for boarding. I am also available most weekdays after work. I will only take your dogs if I’m 100% sure I will be available and with them for their specific needs. I have a loving dog to play with your dog, or I can keep them separated if you like. I let your dog roam my house always, unless you prefer them to be crated with a crate provided. They are also welcome to sleep wherever they want whether that be with me in bed or on the floor/couch - whatever makes them comfortable.

As of August 2026, there are 717 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Anderson. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Anderson. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 93% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
