“Kate was super responsive and accommodating! She cared for our pup while we were skiing at Stratton, traveling to us in less-than-ideal weather. Despite the weather keeping them from big outdoor adventures, our dog seemed to have a great time hanging out with Kate and we felt she was in good hands.”

About: I grew up with dogs, from puppy stage to senior years, and I have never been without a pet. I have also owned and worked with horses since I was ten, so I possess a lot of animal sense and knowledge. By character, I am calm, observant, flexible, and reliable. My job allows me to set my own hours and work mostly from home, so I can easily accommodate your pet within my day or week! I enjoy walking and hiking. My own dog does not get left at home alone for more than 2-3 hours during the day. She has full roam of the house and sleeps on the bed with me at night. I will provide your pet with what he/she is used to having!

“Steven is great! He’s friendly and our dogs couldn’t have been happier and more well taken care of when we got home. He was quick to take our sitting job in a pinch and we look forward to having him hang with our dogs again in the future!”

“I 100% highly recommend Mark to watch your babies. He is trust worthy, communicative, and reliable. Not only did I contact him with less than 24 hours notice, he followed my every direction perfectly and documented the whole experience via text with pictures. With a great sense of humor i appreciate while not being home, I would absolutely re-hire Mark again to watch my pups.”

“Tara-Lynn is the best dog sitter I've ever had. She took excellent care of my dog Lola and sent me plenty of pictures. She also did not leave any trace of a mess in my place.”

“I hired Jada to stay in my home overnight with my 2 year old golden retriever, Pumpkin. She was prompt, communicative and most importantly, gave my seeet girl lots of love and attention while we were gone. I found my home immaculate upon returning home—it seemed cleaner than when we left. I will use Jada again and reccomend her to anyone looking to have care in their home.”

“Highest praise and accolades to Sadie whom we recently hired to stay with our newly adopted rescue Elkie. We can’t find words to express how satisfied we are with the care and communication we experienced with Sadie. Before our booking date Sadie took it upon herself to visit with us to confirm that she would be a goof fit with our dog. On the day of our departure Sadie showed up early, well before the time we had requested. Our Elkie has a number of issues, the greatest of which is separation anxiety and having Sadie stay in our home to provide comfort and care was our number one priority. Sadie provided everything we had hoped for, and sent us regular updates that allowed us to enjoy our time away without any concern for the needs of our dog. Sadie is a caregiver whom you can trust with you pet and home for your time away. We will absolutely call on her again for future bookings when we have a need to leave our pet home. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

About: Hi! My name is Jaya, and animals have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember! I have a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and currently work as a Veterinary Assistant, giving me hands-on experience caring for animals and understanding their individual needs. I’ve been caring for and pet sitting animals since I was 12 years old, and I truly treat every pet like they are my own. Whether your furry friend needs walks, playtime, medication, feeding, or simply some extra love and attention while you’re away, I’m here to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and happy. With my veterinary experience and lifelong passion for animals, you can feel confident knowing your pet is in caring and capable hands. I can’t wait to meet you and your furry family members! 🐾❤️ I am currently working Mondays-Thursdays with lunch breaks around 12-1 P.M. I follow each pet parent’s instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medications, and any special care needs. About: As a child I was always drawn to animals and their pure spirits. I have extensive experience with pocket pets (rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, ferrets, mice) and foster rabbits with a local rabbit rescue in my home. I have 10+ years of experience with small dogs and mid-sized dogs with a specialization in the needs of brachycephalic breeds like shih tzu's, bulldogs, Frenchies and more. I am versed in first aid for small animals and dogs. Can't forget the kitties! I have yet to meet a kitty I didn't love. I strongly feel like they need love too and look forward to caring for them in your home where the majority of them are the most comfortable. I am a stay at home/work from home mom who is looking forward to instilling a love of animals for my son as he gets older. My days typically look calm and chill as I spend a lot of them in my workshop or outside enjoying the nice weather with my animals. Pet care fits perfectly into my schedule as I tend to my rabbits, rabbit fosters, guinea pig and two dogs of my own, Selune and Rosie. I look forward to going to where your pet feels most comfortable and establishing a calm and comforting presence for them. As someone who understands how important it is to keep pets from becoming stressed during owner vacations, I pride myself on the ability to go to meet your animals on their own turf and level in order to create the least amount of stress possible. I am happy to take walks off your plate if you are busy at work and ensure your pet is getting the level of attention and love you would provide yourself if you could during a busy work day. I am trustworthy and neat in terms of house sitting, stick to designated areas you allow me to inhabit during the stay, and ensure your pet and your home is safe and secure while you're away.

About: I've had pets in the past and love caring for them and playing with them. Grew up with a cat, had a dog and coserved a cat with my wife. Because we may move some time internationally, we haven't wanted to make a long term commitment, be we would love to be grandpetparents where we help out by babysitting while people need to travel pet free for a short time. I work full time but from home several days a week. My son, who loves animals will be around on days I am not at home. We would welcome any pets as part of the family. They can cuddle with us on the couch and play out in the yard or chill on our screened in porch. Unfortunately, we cant care forndigs for more than 5 or 6 days as we arent physically able to care for them.

As of August 2026, there are 291 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Anaquassacook. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Anaquassacook walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Anaquassacook maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Anaquassacook choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Anaquassacook. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
