About: Our family dog gets lots of attention, walks, and play time and that's how yours will be treated too. We are an hour from Jackson Hole, located in tetonia Idaho. Close to many hikes and trails, we love taking your dog out for adventures. We have a beautiful walking path behind our house that we take daily! Whether it’s boarding, day care, house sitting, drop in visits, or walks, your pet will get the best care. My 20 year old daughter and I are passionate about giving your pup or cat the attention and love they deserve. We've always enjoyed having pets in the home, caring for an aging dog, a puppy, kittens, and other animals. We live on a safe, quiet street with a large yard. Our family hopes to welcome your dog into our home and take good care of them while they are here. We all are animal lovers here and think cats and dogs are the best pets around! New to Rover? Use https://www.rover.com/sit/karaf27081 for $40 off your first booking! We’d love to meet you and your pet before booking! This way we can ensure your pup feels comfortable and relaxed when you drop them off! One of us is always home. I take care of the dogs along with my 19 year old daughter who helps message as well. We go on lots of walks, and are also totally fine chilling at home if that’s what your pup prefers! We have one dog who likes to go on walks with the dogs we are watching but isn’t especially playful with other dogs. We can separate or crate dogs easily when we’re away or at night.

Paige was excellent! She cared for my home and dogs like they were her own. When our town got a hurricane watch, she was quick to action and had a plan in place to ensure herself, my dogs and her own pets were all safe no matter where the storm hit. While we are all thankful the storm missed us, her planning skills were so valuable in helping all the pets and us owners feel calm.

Jessica took great care of our two dogs (one of which is a puppy and requires some extra eyeballs!). She gave them lots of exercise - walks and swims and tug-of-war etc - and paid special attention to the extreme heat this weekend. She also cleaned paws and kept things tidy and loved on them lots. Jessica sent photos and updates so we knew they were in good hands. Thanks for the good care, Jessica. Would love to book again!

About: Hello! My name is Halle and I have an endless love for animals. Neighbors, friends and family have relied on me to walk, feed and bathe their pets. I love getting to know your pets and treating them like my own. I cant wait to meet your furry best friend. I have a very open schedule and i'm only working a part time job so I can make sure that I can fit pet care into my schedule. How I care for pets in my home is by providing a fenced in yard for your pup to play in, and following the provided instructions the owner has given me. No other pets currently live here.

Claire was an excellent dog sitter for my border collie mix and I highly recommend her. I will definitely hope to have her stay with my dog anytime I should be out of town. I appreciate her attention to the details of my preferences, and my dogs care while I was gone as well as her help with following through on his training as I advised. My puppy was happy and tired. When I came home from all the activity she gave him.

It was great, not having to worry that our fur babies were taken care of while we were away. He was very communicative and flexible in scheduling meet and greets. We would recommend Jared to anyone. About: Happy to walk dogs during the day or at your home overnight. We are great with animals and love to take them on walks and play ball together. Long or short walks depending on how much exercise the dog wants is right up my alley. I work part time a few nights a week. Braylon also loves to walk and play with dogs alongside of myself. He truely has a love for dogs and dogs love him right back. We are not currently accepting dog sitting jobs at our home however we will happily watch the dogs at the owners home and/or take the dogs for daily walks.

About: I absolutely love animals and especially dogs. I feel like there is no other genuine creature on earth like them. They have a big heart and love their human more than themselves. Taking care of a doggie it will be more a pleasure then a business. I love long walkes, play dates or just chilling. Shoot me a text with any questions 🦮 I currently work just mornings so I’m available daily after 4pm, Monday to Friday and in the weekends I am available most of the time . In the house I live in there are two big dogs ( not mine though). One of them is super friendly but the second one is not that good with other dogs. This is the reason why I would prefer pet sit in the customers house or just go out for walkes and play time.

About: I’ve been a pet sitter for over 6 years and grew up owning dogs of my own. I have experience caring for a wide variety of animals, including dogs and cats, as well as farm animals like horses and chickens. I’m comfortable adapting to each pet’s unique needs and routines, and I always make sure they feel safe, cared for, and loved while their owners are away. I work full time (36 hours a week), but I always try to be flexible and work around any scheduling conflicts to make sure your pet gets the care they need I live in a cozy apartment in town with access to an unfenced yard. There are several great parks nearby, including a dog park, where dogs can safely run, play, and burn off energy under close supervision

We were out of town for two days and Rachel and Stefan stepped into help us last minute take care of our dogs. We could not have been happier with their service. The dogs seemed content and happy when we returned and the house was left in an orderly condition. They followed our instructions for dog care and asked pertinent questions. I would definitely use them again for our furry pups.

FAQs for House Sitting - Alta

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Alta on Rover is $49.95 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 186 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Alta. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Alta walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Alta maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Alta choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Alta. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
